After a short time of debating it, you choose to attend Leta Lestrange's funeral, more for her fiancé than Leta herself. 

 When you were still at Hogwarts, you knew both the Scamander brothers as well as Leta Lestrange. To be honest, you were surprised to find out that Theseus was the one Leta was going to marry when it seemed to you that Newt was always the one she fancied. But when you thought about it more, it did make sense: the Scamander brothers were both good men, but Theseus was the one with a steady, well-paid job, and he was also very reliable. That was something a woman would want in a man. 

 You were friends with the Scamander brothers in school, and even after you all graduated. You liked Theseus more than you liked Leta, but you would have tried to be better friends with her for Theseus' sake once they were married. Now it seems that that day won't come. 

 There aren't many people at the funeral, which you think makes it all the more sad. You didn't think Leta was all that bad, but it seems she didn't have many friends. 

 You don't try to talk to Theseus until the funeral ends, but you keep an eye on him throughout. He looks absolutely miserable, and why shouldn't he? The woman who was supposed to become his wife is dead. But his brother and a few friends are with him, so you know he has the support he must need right now. 

 When you do approach him, you touch him gently on the arm. "Theseus." 

 He looks up at you. "Y/N. I didn't know you were coming." 

 "I know. I suppose I should have said something sooner. But...at a time like this, I wouldn't know what to say at all. I know I wasn't all that fond of Leta, but she wasn't bad. I was going to try to be friends with her." 

 He nods. "I think you would have gotten along just fine." 

 "Maybe. What are you going to do? Now that she's gone?" 

 He shrugs. "Go back to work. Get Grindelwald if I can. He has to pay for this somehow. The whole magical world is going to be on the hunt for him now, so hopefully we'll catch him sooner rather than later. I'm happy you decided to come, Y/N. Excuse me." 

 He walks away, and you're impressed by how strong he is in the face of all this. But that doesn't mean he couldn't have used a little comfort.
