You've known Pansy Parkinson throughout all of your years at Hogwarts, so you know that she's had feelings for Draco Malfoy for a few years now, especially since they went to the Yule Ball together two years ago. But that was then, when Draco had more of an interest in Pansy. These days, you don't know who he has any interest, but it's definitely not Pansy or any of his fellow Slytherins. He's changed so much since the end of last year, but it's not you have any clue what's going on with him since he doesn't talk to you or anyone else. 

 But it's not really Draco you're concerned about. It's Pansy. Yes, she does have her own group of friends, which includes you, but you've seen that there are times when she would much rather be with Draco, but he practically ignores her. 

 One night, you hear the sound of two people arguing in the Slytherin common room. You can't hear what they're actually saying, but after listening closely, you realize it sounds like Pansy and Draco. You already went up to the dormitories for the night because you didn't think anything exciting was going to happen (and you have classes in the morning). But after hearing the arguing, you get out of the bed. However, Pansy stomps up to the dormitories and bursts in before you can even get to the door. She throws herself onto her bed, curls up there, and says nothing. 

 "Pansy, what's going on?" you ask her. 

 "Leave me alone," you hear from her bed, her voice muffled. 

 You wait to see if she'll tell you anything else, but she doesn't. You sigh and get back into your own bed. 

 You thought that was the end of that until the morning, but you feel yourself being shaken awake in the middle of the night. 

 "Y/N," you hear someone whisper. 

 You open your eyes. It's Pansy. 

 "What is it?" you ask. "Is it still dark out?" 

 "That's what you're worried about? Y/N, I...well, first, I'm sorry I snapped at you." 

 "Apology accepted. Hold on." You grab your wand. "Lumos. There. Now, what's going on, Pansy? I know it has to do with Draco." 

 "I don't understand him," Pansy began. "He always acted like he was interested in me, like...well, now he doesn't. He basically ignores me. That's what we were arguing about. I just want to know why, and he still won't tell me anything." 

 "Is it that bad?" you ask. 

 She nods. "I don't know what to do about him." 

 "Well, if he's going to be like that...he might not be worth it," you say. "You can't keep waiting for him if he wants nothing to do with you. If you do somebody, you might have to start looking somewhere else." 

 She nods. "I guess you're right. Thanks, Y/N. I knew I could talk to you about this." 

 You smile. "You're welcome. But now that I've helped, if it's still dark out, I'm going back to bed."
