Kurt von Trapp #2 (The Sound of Music)

"Come on, Y/N," your older brother Rolf says to you. "We still have to go up to the von Trapps'."

You've been spending the morning in town in Rolf, and now you follow him to the home of the von Trapp family, where he's dropping off a few telegrams.

"Is Captain von Trapp an important man?" you ask. You don't know much about him, but with a title like that you figure there must be something important about him.

"Well, he is a busy man," Rolf answers, "So maybe."

 "Do you not like him?"

He shrugs. "I wouldn't say that. He doesn't like the Nazis, though, and his kids seem to feel the same way."

You know how highly Rolf thinks of the Nazi Party, so it wouldn't surprise you if he didn't think too highly of Captain von Trapp because of his own opinions.

When you arrive at the von Trapp home, there's a group of kids playing outside the house.

"How many children are there?" you ask, trying to count all of them.

"Seven altogether," Rolf answered. "I know all of them. "Come on, I'll introduce you."

"Hello, everyone," he says to the von Trapps as you approach. "Hello, Liesel."

The one he addresses as Liesel is a young woman who's obviously one of the oldest of the bunch. She looks to be about the same age as your brother. She simply nods and says, "Hello, Rolf. More telegrams for Father?"

"Um, yes." He holds them up. "Here they are. Liesel, can't we talk for just a few minutes?"

Liesel hesitates before saying, "All right. But not for long. I don't want Father to see us and get the wrong idea."

"Y/N, just stay here with the others, all right?" Rolf says to you. "Now, this is Friedrich, Louisa, Kurt, Birgitta, Marta and Gretl von Trapp. Everyone, this is my little sister, Y/N Gruber. We'll just be a moment."

You watch as Rolf and Liesel walk a little away from the rest of you. It's obvious there's something romantic between them, or was. You wish he hadn't left you alone with six other children he just introduced you to; you don't know what to say to any of them.

The one standing closest to you is Kurt, the younger of the two boys. You turn to see him giving you a curious look.

"I didn't know Rolf had a sister," he remarks. "He's never mentioned it."

"And I didn't know he was in love with anyone," you say. "Did you know?"

"We thought Liesel might be in love with him," says Friedrich, the older boy.

"But we weren't too sure," says Louisa. "It sure looks like it now."

"But your sister didn't look happy to see him at all," you point out. "Do you know why that might be?"

"It's the Nazis," Kurt explains. "Father hates them, and he would never approve of Liesel marrying Rolf. Liesel agrees with him, and Rolf definitely does seem different now."

You yourself have noticed that Rolf seems a little more distant now, and not like his usual self. You hadn't thought him supporting the Nazi Party would cause so much trouble, yet it seems so.

"You're not one of them too, are you?" Kurt asks cautiously, giving you something of a suspicious look.

"No. I don't care about things like that," you say. "I have noticed a bit of a change in Rolf, though. I don't like it."

He nods. "Father's worried about what's going to happen to Austria. We all hope nothing too bad will happen to our home."

You give Kurt a small smile, and you decide you like him. He must be about your age, and he seems very likeable, someone you would want to be friends with.

The front door of the house opens, and a man and woman step out, whom you assume are the children's parents.

"What's going on out here?" the father asks.

"Nothing, Father." Liesel hurries back over. "Here, there's a few telegrams for you."

He takes them, and then he pauses when he notices you. "And who is this?"

"This is Y/N Gruber, Father," Kurt answers. "Y/N, this is our father, Captain von Trapp, and our stepmother Maria."

Maria gives you a kind smile. "It's nice to meet you, Y/N."

"Is this all?" Captain von Trapp asks your brother.

 Rolf nods. "Yes, sir."

 "Very well. Come, children, inside."

"I don't think Father would like us being friends or anything," Kurt whispers to you, "But I hope we can see each other again soon."

You smile and nod. "I would like that very much. Goodbye, Kurt."

You turn and follow Rolf, wondering if there's way you can convince him to take you with him to the von Trapps' every time he's delivering something.
