Kara Danvers #2 (Sequel to #1)
"This has been nice," Kara says as the two of you walk down the street. "I'm glad you suggested this, Y/N."
You shrug. "Well, if you had a nice time, I guess I'm pretty glad I suggested it, too."
After asking Kara if she wanted to go out with you for the evening, she came over to your place a few hours ago to suggest you walk to the nearby diner together. You readily agreed, and you had dinner there. While you've been out, Kara has been telling you about some things going on with her lately, and as the night has gone on, she seems to ease up. When she first showed up at your apartment, there seemed to be something tense about her behavior, like she was carrying a lot of stress she didn't know how to get rid of.
"You seem a lot less stressed out now than you were earlier," you remark. "Feeling better?"
She nods. "Definitely. Do you know what a great friend you are? Seriously. I've been having a rough, stressful time lately, if it wasn't obvious enough already, and then you come in and all of a sudden I feel better."
You're a little surprised to hear her say this. You didn't realize she feels this deeply about the relationship between the two of you. Hearing her say that you being there and listening to her made her feel better makes you feel a more confident in yourself.
"Well, thanks for walking me to my apartment," Kara says as you arrive outside her door. "So, I'll see you soon?"
"Yeah, I hope so," you answer. "We should go out together more often. Uh, when you have the chance, I mean."
She smiles. "Okay. Yeah, we should."
She leans over and gives you a soft kiss on the cheek, and then she very slowly pulls away, and she gives you a quick kiss on the mouth as she does so.
"See you soon," she says with another smile, and goes into her apartment.
You turn around and slowly walk back down the hallway. For so long, you've thought your feelings for Kara were one-sided. But maybe you've been wrong about that.
