You have been close friends with fellow Gryffindors Harry Potter, Ron Weasley, and Hermione Granger since your first year at Hogwarts. It happened when you were once bullied by Draco Malfoy; he knew that you're a muggle-born, and that your father was murdered by Voldemort when you were still a baby. They saw you, told Draco to leave you alone, and then took you away with them. 

 Even though they were your fellow first-years and you knew all their names, at that time you didn't know any of them too well at all. But that afternoon they introduced themselves to you and you introduced yourselves to them, and you all became friends. They soon became your best friends at Hogwarts, and went everywhere with them and shared all of their adventures. 

 Although you loved all three of them, the one you were most fond of was Harry. You grew much closer to him than you did to Ron or Hermione. As time went on, the relationship between you and Harry became more than just friendship. By your sixth year, which became your last year at Hogwarts, you knew you were in love with Harry, and at the end of the year you promised him you would be with him on wherever this next journey was going to take him.

 When the day of the Battle of Hogwarts arrives, you're afraid, far more for Harry than for yourself. There are many people on his side, but what if Voldemort still got to him somehow? What would happen if Voldemort actually won? 

 Harry seems to notice your worrying. He squeezes your hand and says, "Don't worry too much. I think everything will be all right, somehow." 

 You smile at him, feeling a bit better. If he's sure everything will turn out well in the end, maybe it will. 

 But a bad turn of events occurs when you go to the Room of Requirement with Harry, Ron and Hermione. You are confronted by Draco Malfoy, and a fire breaks out. You are rescued from the fire, but not by one of your friends; it is Lucius Malfoy, who then takes out to the Forbidden Forest, where Voldemort is waiting for you. 

 "This is Y/F/N Y/L/N," Lucius Malfoy says. "Potter's girlfriend, I believe." 

 Voldemort seemed very pleased with this. He used his magic to announce that he had you hostage, and that you would be hurt if Harry didn't come to the Forest. You're afraid of what might happen to you, but you know there's a good chance Harry will come for you, and you know that Voldemort will kill him if he does. 

 Of course, Harry does come. Before Voldemort casts the Killing Curse on him, he says to you, "I'm sorry, Y/N. I couldn't let him hurt you." 

 And before you know it, it's done. You're stunned; you don't how to react or what to do. You're taken by Voldemort and his Death Eaters back to the castle, and you don't put up any sort of fight. 

 When you arrive and Voldemort announces Harry's death, it is clear that no one is quite ready to give up the fight yet. That is when Harry reveals that he is not dead, which thrills you and seems to give you your energy back. Another fight begins, and some Death Eaters begin to flee. You're almost taken by Lucius Malfoy again, but Ron sees you and grabs you just in time. You stay with him and Hermione for the remainder of the battle.

 Soon, Harry defeats Voldemort, and it's all over. You run to him and throw your arms around him. 

 "I thought you were really dead," you say. 

 "I thought I was going to die, too," he replies. "But something happened, and I'm not quite sure what. What saved me the first time was my mother's love. Maybe this time it was your love that saved me." He holds you at arm's length so he can look in the eyes, and he asks, "Will you marry me, Y/N, once we're able to get away from here? I know now that I want to spend the rest of my life with you." 

 You nod. "Yes. Of course I will." You throw your arms around him again. It sounds like everything you could have ever wanted.
