Esme Cullen #1
It's evening, and you're just on your way home from work when you get a call from Esme Cullen.
"Were you waiting until the exact time I get out of work to call me?" you ask her.
"Of course I know what time your shift is over. Y/N, can you meet me? There's something important I need to talk to you about."
"Oh. Um, tell you what, I'll come to your house. I'll see you soon, all right?"
You hang up and turn your car in a different direction. Being a vampire, you don't necessarily need a car, but you feel it makes you look like a normal person, and in a small town like Forks it's probably better to try to look like a normal person.
When you pull up at the Cullens' home, Esme is waiting outside. When you pull up, she gets into the passenger seat.
"We're leaving Forks," she begins.
That is not at all what you were expecting. Since she got to the point of the conversation immediately, it takes you a moment to think up a response.
"Why?" you ask.
"We've been talking over this for the past few days," she says. "It's Bella. She's a human, and she's in a relationship with Edward."
You nod. "Yeah. What does that have to do with why you're leaving town?"
"It's because of Bella. You know about what the Volturi does to humans who find out about vampires, right? And to vampires to expose their true nature to humans?"
She has a point. You have heard about it from Carlisle. The Volturi don't hesitate to execute anyone who could threaten the existence of vampires.
"What if Bella became a vampire?" you ask. "Would that solve the problem?"
"It might, but Edward would rather leave Forks behind than have to turn Bella. He wants her to have the best life possible, and in this case it might be a normal human life, without him in it."
"And that's why you're moving away," you finish. "When?"
"Soon," she answers. "Probably tomorrow."
"Okay, then. I'll go home and start packing."
"Packing?" Esme repeats.
"Well, yeah. You do want me to go with you, right?"
"I...I wasn't sure you would," she says slowly.
"Well, why wouldn't I?" you ask. "I love you, Esme. I love what we have together. I mean, unless you're trying to get rid of me, I'm going with you."
She smiles and shakes her head. "I would never try to get rid of you." She leans over and kisses you. "I'm so glad you're coming. I have to go tell Carlisle we have more person coming aboard."
"I'll be here tomorrow," you say as she gets out of the car. You then start up the engine again and drive away, ready to go with Esme wherever this new move is going to take you.
