After the sun goes down and those men are gone, Bella comes to you and hugs you fiercely.

 "I promise they're not gonna take you away," she says. "You don't have to go anywhere with them if you don't want to."

 "Are you sure?" you ask. "Because they seem pretty confident in themselves."

 "They are, annoyingly. But you have me, and my family; we'll protect you from them if we have to."

 "But...if I have to be protected from them, why did I feel something good about those two guys? Demetri and Felix? It felt like...some kind of connection, I guess."

 Bella nodded. "That's what I felt when I first met Edward. It's a vampire thing. You find your mate, you're bound to them forever. Every vampire goes through it at some point."

 "So, you were meant to be a vampire?" you ask her.

 "I don't know. Maybe I was. And maybe that's the path you're meant to go down, too." She sighs. "I just wish it didn't have to involve the Volturi."

 "Yeah. You'll have to tell me about what they did to make you hate them so much."

 "Oh, I'll make sure to get around to it. Maybe you should ask Carlisle about the Volturi, though. He spent years in their city, a long time ago, so he could probably tell you about what you need to know."

 Not surprisingly, you don't sleep at all that night. You finally get out of bed at sunrise feeling shaky and exhausted, and very nervous. You can't eat, either, and instead, you ask Carlisle to tell you whatever he knows about the Volturi before they show up again. He begins telling you their history and whatever he knows about Demetri and Felix, but he doesn't get to tell you everything before they return, looking for you.

 Carlisle lets Aro, Demetri and Felix into the house. It's obvious from the look on his face that he hates the idea of having to allow them into his home, but he apparently has no choice. Surprisingly enough, you feel like you missed them.

 Demetri and Felix both smile when they see you (or at least they seem to try smiling, but it comes out as a smirk on both their faces. They begin to walk over to you, but Bella appears at your side and gives them a look of defiance. Demetri shakes his head and Felix rolls his eyes.

 "Bella." Edward walk into the room. "It's not going to do you any good. Perhaps Y/N should try talking to them herself, so we can see if it's true."

 Bella hesitates, but she walks away from you and goes to stand next to Edward.

 "Ah!" Felix smiles. "We finally get to speak." In an instant, he lifts you up in his arms and sits you down on his lap. "Y/N, correct? I wouldn't forget, you know. I am Felix, and that lug is Demetri."

 "Yeah." You slide off of his lap and sit down next to him on the sofa. "Well, I guess it's nice to meet you both."

 "And we feel the same about you." Demetri sits down in a chair. "Tell us about yourself, Y/N."

 "Well, I'm in college," you begin. "I'm planning on going to medical school. I want to be a doctor."

 "Ah! Demetri, we have a future doctor on our hands," says Felix. "I don't know much about medicine myself, but if you're in college and you mean to go to medical school afterwards, you must be quite the scholar."

 "If you are the scholarly type," Demetri says, "You might like Volterra. Lots of history, lots of books."

 "Well, I...I guess that would be an interesting way to spend my summer," you say. "This was supposed to be my summer vacation, but I'm going to assume that I wouldn't be able to tell anyone back at school that much about it."

 The two vampires glance at each other, and you wonder what you said. Then Demetri says, "It seems you're good friends with the newest Mrs. Cullen over there. How do you two know each other?"

 "I knew when she lived back in Arizona, before she moved up here to Forks," you answer. "We've always kept in touch, and I came up here to visit her for some of the summer."

 "Then they are clearly lucky to have you here," says Felix, giving you a wink, and you feel your face grow hot.

 "Y/N." Carlisle walks into the room with Aro, who walks over to you.

 "It's good to see you've been talking with Felix and Demetri," Aro says, giving you a smile. "But I'm afraid you're going to have to leave with us."

 "And we're going to this Volterra place?" you ask him.

 "Yes, our home, and it will be your home, too. You'll have to become a vampire, and since you've found your mates, you can stay with us forever if you like."

 "Forever?" you repeat. "But I'm a college student, and I have a family to think about." You pause, and sigh. "How about I at least go for the summer? I stay there with you guys in this Volterra place for the summer, and I'll decide whether or not I want to stay."

 "Whether you stay or not, you'll have to be turned," Aro points out. "Rules are rules."

 You look at Demetri and Felix, who are both looking at you, waiting for an answer.

 "Fine. I'll accept that," you say. "I guess it's true that once you find your mate, you're bound forever. I would like to hang out with you guys."

 You get up from the sofa and hug Bella, and hug Edward and Carlisle too. "I'll promise you'll hear from me," you tell them. "I guess I need to get my stuff."

 You don't know what exactly to expect, and you don't know the Volturi vampires well at all, but you feel that you trust Demetri and Felix, and you want to get to know them. So, you'll just have to see how things turn out. Whether you stay wit the Volturi or not, you have a feeling the three of you are going to inseparable.
