"It's a beautiful sunset, isn't it?" you say.

 Credence nods. "It is. I'm glad I get to sit here and watch it with you."

 You smile. "Then so am I."

 It is true that you're happy to be able to spend so much time with Credence. You haven't known him for too long, but you started to have feelings for him very quickly. You've both been quite alone in the world for a while, so you have that in common. Credence has been open with you about himself and his past, which is something you appreciate about him, especially since he hasn't had a happy life.

 Since Credence got away from his old home, he's been spending most of his time with you. Each of you is in a sort of limbo: you're both young, with your whole lives ahead of you, but you have no idea yet what you're going to do with them. You're really just enjoying all the time you have with Credence. He seems to feel the same way about you; whenever you're with him, he always seems to smile, as if it makes him happy just to know you're nearby. You've realized that you must be the first person in a long time that's genuinely cared about him this much, since there doesn't seem to be anyone else.

 Given everything that both of you have been through in your lives, it really is nice to have each other. You know that has to be why you've constantly sought out Credence's company. You know you're falling in love with him, and you want what you have with him to last for as long as it possibly can. You want it to last for the rest of your lives if the two of you can manage that.

 "Y/N...I wanted to thank you," Credence says now.

 "Thank me for what?" you ask. "I haven't done much today."

 "You have done a lot for me. I'm serious when I say that I had a terrible life before I met you. Having you in my life has changed it. When I'm with you, I don't have to worry about the past or the future. I feel like I don't have to worry."

 You smile. "Well, you make me forget my troubles, too. I'm happier when I'm with you."

 He nods. "That's how I feel about you."

 You rest your head against his shoulder, and he wraps his arm around you. You sit quietly together as you finish watching the sunset.
