Bela Talbot #1

In Bela Tablot, you feel you've found a kindred spirit. Like her, you made a terrible mistake ten years ago; you gave in to a deal that only gave you ten more years to live before you would have to go down to Hell forever. You haven't told Bela what exactly you did, and she hasn't told you why she made her deal. You doubt Bela Talbot is even her real name, but you don't pry or ask any questions; she'll tell you if she wants you to know.

You have no idea how to break your contract. You don't even know where you would start. However, Bela seems to be more acquainted with the supernatural world, and knows more of the ins and outs. You could tell that the first time you met her, when you realized you were both in the same position. You partnered yourself with her because you felt that maybe joining her would find you a way out of this mess for good. Your ten years are coming to a close, and you've become more and more desperate.

Not long after you first met Bela, she disappears for periods of time. You don't who she's been meeting with, but she does tell you that she has been spending time with two men who may be able to help you two get what you're looking for. You have no clue what she's talking about, but you put your faith in her.

But when she disappears for a longer period of time than usual, you manage to track her down to a hotel where she's locked herself into a room. After a few minutes of knocking on the door and calling for her, she lets you in and locks and bolts the door behind you.

"Bela, what's going on?" you ask. "Where have you been? Is someone after you?"

"It's the hounds," she says, her voice barely above a whisper. "They're coming."

"I know. It's almost time. What about whatever this is you've been planning? Where are those two guys you said were going to help us?"

"They're not here. They're gone." She places her head in her hands. "I messed it up, Y/N. I did everything completely wrong."

"What do you mean?" you ask.

"I never told them the truth. I never told them that I-that we needed their help. I stole a gun from them that could have killed the hellhounds, and they took it back. You see, one of them is going through something similar right now, and they're angry with me for not telling them the truth."

"Well, where are they now? Maybe I can talk to them."

"No, it won't do any good. They're long gone by now. They already didn't like me in the first place. They won't help me now. I'm hopeless, Y/N, and I don't know if there's any hope for you, either."

"But...no. No, there has to be something we can do."

"I don't know." Bela shakes her head and sits down on the bed. "I'm all out of options. I'm sorry. I've doomed both of us now. Our time's just about up."

 "So, there's really nothing?"

"I don't think so." She picks her head up. "I keep thinking I can hear them, the hellhounds. They must be coming."

You listen closely, and think you just might be able to hear a howling somewhere in the distance, and whether it's a hellhound or not, it chills you to the bone and reminds you of all the mistakes you made in the past, and makes you wonder if there really is no hope left.
