Balthazar #1
You arrive at the spot in the woods where Balthazar asked you to meet with him. You don't know what this is about, but given his recent past, you doubt it's anything too good. He's here waiting for you, and he says, "You got here faster than I thought you would."
You shrug. "You seem tense. I figured it has to be something important."
"Well, I suppose it is. I told you Castiel struck a deal with Crowley."
You nod. "I've talked to Castiel. It's a terrible idea. You know that, right?"
"Of course you and I know that. The things is, Castiel doesn't. The way he's acting...he doesn't know what's best for him anymore."
"What do you think would be best for him?" you ask.
"To abandon this ridiculous plan of his, obviously," Balthazar answers. "But he doesn't understand that. He clearly has clue what's best for him. That's why...I've started helping the Winchester brothers."
"And you think they can save him?" you ask.
"They did save the world," he points out. "If there's any chance Castiel can be saved, it'll be those two who will save him. He was like a brother to me once, and he's still my friend. He believes I'm actually helping him, and I'll have to keep that up for a while longer."
"Do you want me to be in on this?" You've been trying to figure out why Balthazar has been telling you all this, and that's the only reason you can think of.
"Well, if you want to be," he answers. "You know I've never been particularly good at being part of a team, but I had thought you might be reliable if you knew my plan. I notice you're not spending any time in Heaven anymore."
"And you can't figure out why? I figured getting out of there was better than having to choose sides in a civil war," you explain. "You apparently thought so, too." You squeeze his hand. "Whatever you decide to do, I'm with you. I usually am, aren't I?"
