A single drop of sweat ran down your face as you rested on the beach, watching the waves. You were on a summertime beach trip with your classmates, but you would've preferred to be inside because of the boiling weather. Everyone was either resting under the palm trees like you were, or messing around in the ocean without a care in the world. One of the people in the water was your newest crush, Makoto Naegi. Something about his soft-looking hair and his glistening hazel eyes made your heart flutter uncontrollably. Your friend Kyoko Kirigiri (who was resting with you) noticed you looking at him, and smiled. She knew you had a crush on him.

"So, y/n, your heart still set on Naegi?" Kirigiri laughed. You looked at her with a blush on your face.

"Well... yeah. I just wish he'd notice me though," You replied, starting to go into your third daydream of the day. 

"Hey, look, he's coming over here," 

You quickly snapped out of your daydream to notice the brown-haired boy walking towards you. Your cheeks started to heat up, as he unexpectedly sat next to you. Kirigiri smiled at you before going to read her book.

"Hey Y/n!" Naegi grinned, looking at you.

"H-hey, Makoto, how a-are you?" You stammered, trying your best to keep calm. 

"I'm good! May I talk with you for a while?"

"Oh, go ahead..."

You and Naegi talk for a while about food (mainly different types of ramen), until you brought up  the conversation of relationships. 

"So... I have something to tell you..."

"Cool! What is it?"

"I... erm..." You struggled to speak, "I-I kinda l-lik-"

"You like me, don't you?" Naegi interrupted.

"Mhm... well it's ok if-"

You were interrupted yet again, but this time by Naegi kissing you lightly on the cheek. Your cheeks felt as if they were on fire.

"You could say I like you too, Y/n. Now, I'm heading back into the water. Wanna join me?"

You hesitantly agreed as Naegi got up from the sand and held out his hand. You grabbed his hand and pulled yourself up, following him to the ocean. This annoyingly-hot day just got better.
