'Finally, this war is over...' Japan thought, limping away from the abandoned battlefield. He was scarred, bleeding, and a few of his bones were broken. But he yearned to speak to his 'friend', America. Though everyone thought of America as annoying and loud, Japan thought of him as charming, and a graceful fighter. Just as Japan started to daydream about him, he glimpsed America in the distance. Japan rushed to him, but something about America seemed... off. Being the shy man that he was however, Japan waited for America to notice him. Eventually, he did.

"What do you want?" America questioned, confused.

"I just... want to stay with you... for a while," Japan muttered in between heavy breaths.

"No, I'm sorry..." America said calmly, walking away from Japan. He didn't want to look at Japan whilst he was in pain. Japan looked back, tears forming in his eyes. His only hope had turned him down...

~A few days later~

Japan had recovered slightly from his wounds, and was sitting in his house. America had turned him away multiple times by then, and Japan's mood had deteriorated.  Suddenly, someone knocked at the door, making Japan jump. He opened the door to America, to his surprise. But he was still wary.

"May I talk to you?" America questioned calmly. Japan hesistantly agreed, and let America in. But after Japan shut the door, America hugged him. They stayed in a hug for a while before America stopped to talk.

"Look, I'm sorry I pushed you away. The truth is that I didn't want to see you so hurt... and I love you..."

Japan paused, a blush forming on his pale face. He had no clue that was the case for his ignorance.

"I guess... I love you too-" Japan replied, before getting interrupted by America.

"I knew it!! But to be honest, your feelings were slightly obvious,"

"O-oh, I never noticed..."

America chuckled, before kissing Japan on the cheek. 

"Just know that I'll never leave your side from now on..." America whispered in Japan's ear.

"Ok... I'll never leave your side either..." Japan replied, a slight smile appearing on his blushing face.
