(Despair AU, set after Kaede's execution, also requested by Rose_The_Nagito_Copy)

For you, it was just another day, although your friend Kaede Akamatsu had been executed the day before. You felt lonely, and it seemed you only had your thoughts to accompany you. The fear of the unknown caught onto you quickly as you walked the halls of this strange place. Suddenly you bumped into three individuals, two of which you recognised as Maki Harukawa and Kaito Momota. But the third you didn't recognise. It was a boy with dark blue hair, and an emo aesthetic. He seemed timid, but calm and collected. You started to speak to the three others.

"Hi, Maki and Kaito. How are you guys doing?" You smile, trying to seem as happy as possible.

"Hey Y/n, we're good," Kaito replied with an energetic attitude, "Wait, have we introduced you to our new friend yet?"

You shook your head.

"Oh, ok! This is Shuichi Saihara, the Ultimate Detective!"

Shuichi greeted you with a subtle smile and a small wave.

"Well, hi Shuichi! I'm Y/n the Ultimate y/t (your talent)!" You greeted him happily. He seemed... quite cute to you. Maybe this could be another crush? You, Maki, Kaito, and Shuichi talked for a while, your crush growing with each sentence that Shuichi spoke.

~A few hours later~

You and Shuichi were hanging out in the school gym hall, both of you getting to know each other. Your liking for him had grown five times as much since you first spoke to him, and your feelings seemed unbearable. You had the urge to tell him how you felt, but you kept your urge under control.

"Umm, Y/n, I may have something to tell you..." Shuichi unexpectedly said, startling you. 

"Oh, what is it?" You replied.

"I'm not sure if this is me going crazy or not, but I may have grown... feelings towards you, Y/n,"

You paused for a bit, before replying.

"I may also have feelings for you, even though we just met 4 hours ago..." You grinned, taking Shuichi's hands and placing them in yours. You could see him slightly blushing, and you could even glimpse a slight smile on his face. The moment you two shared was perfect, and it was like you both weren't fighting for your life inside a deadly school. It was like all your worries had disappeared for a while, and it was amazing...
