What was today?

IT WAS SUPER SMASH BRO TOURNAMENT DAY!
Chiaki couldn't let an opportunity like this cross!

She's been preparing for weeks. Everyday after school she'd practice moves with her main character for a couple hours, than of course go back to doing work and hanging out with friends.
However, with all this practicing, it has caused Chiaki to skip regressing time. So she hasn't regressed in 3 weeks..

But it was time to put the sacrifice and training to work, because her she was;

On her pink gaming chair, white headphones plugged in, a bag of gummy bears and a cup of lemonade, and Mikan right be her side on a beanbag.
She was her moral support!

"A-are you going to choose someone different this time? Or does the character have to be the same you trained as..?"
Mikan asked, taking a bite of strawberries she had in a bowl.

"I'm gonna use the one I've been using, I'm more familiar with the combos and moves now. Plus, I've inspired it by your favorite. You like Kirby, right?"
Chiaki winked.

Mikan started to blush a bit, "That is my favorite..! That's really sweet of you, my love.."
Mikan stood up a small bit and gave Nanami a kiss on the cheek.

"No problem, it's my good luck charm. O-Oh! It's starting!"
She plugged in the switch to its monitor so it showed on the TV, she turned on the stream that showed the competition so her and Tsumiki can see.

It was a local Hopes Peak Academy competition, so the host to this was no one other than..

TSUMUGI SHIROGANE !!

"Hello everyone! Welcome to the long awaited tournament! I am your host, Tsumugi Shirogane! And we have a pretty good turn out for this weeks competition."

On the screen came up a digital screen with a whole bunch of names. It was almost impossible to find your own with the list being so big!

"I've mixed and matched everyone's names so each match can be fair. So without further ado, let's get started everyone!"

She pulled out her phone, which also had a big list of names.

"Let's see who will be competing first."

The digital wheel was spinning, and spinning, and spinning. It was almost hypnotizing.
Mikan was crossing her fingers and so was Chiaki.

"Our first contestant is... Oh! It's Leon Kuwata the Ultimate Baseball Star!"

"Kuwata? I didn't know he'd be participating in this."
Mikan said whilst chewing on the rest of the strawberries she had.

"And out next competitor for our first match is.. Oh my! It's Chiaki Nanami, the Ultimate Gamer!"

Chiaki perked up in her chair from her name being called. Her and Mikan high-fived, "I didn't expect to be going so early, which me luck?"

"Of course! Good luck b-babe!"

"Leon has chosen Bowser and Chiaki has chosen Kirby. Quite the paring huh? Haha! Okay, our first match will start in~

SMASH!!"

Chiaki and Leon's characters showed up on the screen together, Leon room the first move. It made Chiaki already on 20% damage. Chiaki then did a combo! Hit, then swallow.
But Leon's character broke out of the combo. Chiaki gasped, with a determined pout she tried the combo again. This time it did work! Now she had the same abilities Leon's character did.

As the competition went on, Leon's character started doing moves over and over.
It was doing a great deal of damage to Chaiki's character.

Chiaki was starting to feel tense, her eyes glued on the screen, her hands were starting to sweat from frustration. She could tell that Leon was button mashing, she hated that! Who wouldn't?

She huffed,
"Why is he button mashing in a competition!?"

And just like that..
Her character was brought off the screen.
And in bright bold letters, it read K.O

"Oh my! It seems this isn't Chiaki's best day, because Leon Kuwata has came out victorious! Congratulations Kuwata! Now we shall move on to the last round.."

...

..

Tsumiki looked at her girlfriend, she looked defeated.. her eyes were wide open, her hands off of the controller, her body was completely still.
Mikan frowned and stood up, "Chiaki, I-It's gonna be okay, there's gonna be plenty other competitions-"

"NWO!!"
Chiaki bolted up and threw the bowl of gummy bears in the counter. Mikan was completely taken off guard.

"NWO FWAIR!! HWE CHEATED!"
Chiaki's beautiful eyes were filled with tears, angry tears.

"C-Chiaki! Please calm down, it's gonna be okay!-"

"NUH UH! NWO OTAY! NWO OTAY!!"
She fell to the ground and started sobbing into the floor. Mikan sighed and went to turn the computer and her switch off, she then picked up the bowl Chiaki threw and put it on the counter.

She understood what was happening right now.
Chiaki had regressed. She could tell right away by how she was talking, when Chiaki regressed, her words always sounded like they were being dragged out. Compared to when Chiaki was in her bigger headspace she'd always talk more softer.

Mikan went to her knees where Chiaki was laying, and started rubbing her back.
"Sssh.. Sssh.. P-please don't cry, it's going to be okay.."

Every night, Chiaki would practice. She had to! Her ultimate title was at stake. She couldn't go a day without hearing something like
"You have to win! The Ultimate Gamer can't loose!"
Or "Wouldn't it be hilarious to see her loose?"

She didn't want to let people down, in her mind she needed to win. Countless nights.. Tons of sleep lost, all of the stress was stacking up on Chiaki and fast. And now it was all coming out.. she couldn't help it. She didn't want it to happen like this.
But her regressed mind wouldn't stop for nothing.

"Baby, it's going to be o-okay. It's fine you didn't win, nobody is going to be upset.."

Sniffle

"No mwad..? 'Ou no swad I wose?"

"Of course not, baby. It doesn't matter if you loose, you're still my sugar muffin. Forever,"
Mikan kissed Chiaki's head, "And ever."

Wobbly, Chiaki got back up on her knees and looked up at Mikan. "Rweally..?"

Mikan nodded and smiled, bringing Chiaki into a loving embrace.

"O-of course! I could never get mad at you, darling. I'll love you a-always.."
