"Cmon bro! I said I was sorry!"

"No..! Gwo away!"

Mario made a terrible, terrible mistake.
While playing with his regressed younger brother he accidentally broke one of the arms off of Luigi's stuffed animals. Just so happened that stuffed animal was his favorite stuffed animal.
Luigi was absolutely crushed when this happened. He cried and went into his room, he didn't dare to come out.

Ever since the incident Mario had been trying to convince Luigi to come out of his room.
"Brother! Your stuffed animal isn't broken, I swear! I can get you a new one!"

hic hic

"I dwon't want a new one!! I wan' my stwuffie!!"
Mario could hear his brother's cries through the door.. what had he done?
Mario sighed and stood up. He knew in his heart he couldn't replace the stuffed animal, that one was so special to Luigi!
With the broken stuffed animal in his hand and the broken off arm on the other, he thought long and hard for an idea.

"Aha! I can ask Peach to stich the little guy up! But.. what am I gonna do with Luigi?"

From the corner of his eye he could see a green toad walking around the kingdom floor.
"Bingo!"

Mario walked down the many stairs and went up to the toad. He looked surprised to see Mario, "Hi Mario!!"

"Hello Toad! I have a favor I need to ask of you."

"Woah! Sure thing, what can I do for ya?"
Toad was doing an excited little bounce, this was his first request of the day!

"I need you to keep an eye on Luigi, make sure he's okay, and tend to anything he needs."

"Alright, you got it Mario! You can count on me!"

"Thank you, Toad! I appreciate it a lot. Also, would you know where the Princess is?"

Toad put his hand on his chin for a moment,
"Hmm.. I think I last saw her in her at the Luncheon café! She said she was going to get some pastries."

"Luncheon's isn't too far away, I won't be gone for long!"
Mario thought to himself, then nodded.

"Thank you again, Toad! I should be back soon! I'll repay you back!"
With that, Mario zoomed off out of the kingdom.
Despite Mario already gone Toad waved Mario goodbye,
"Bye Mario!!"

~At Luncheon~

Mario entered the Café and looked around. There were some toads, a couple of shy guys, and-
"Princess!"
Mario blurted out loud, he covered his mouth when he realized he shouted out loud.
He chuckled awkwardly,
"Haha.. sorry everyone!"

He speed walked to the table Peach was sitting at, "Peach! I found you!"

Princess Peach wiped some crumbs off of her lips and smiled, "Why, hello Mario. It's lovely to see you! Wait, found me? Were you looking for me?"

"I was! Sorry for late notice Princess but, can I ask you a favor?"

Peach raised an eyebrow, "Hm? Of course, what is this favor you speak of?"

Mario sighed and placed the broken stuffed animal on the table. Peach gasped at the sight, "Oh my! Poor little guy.. his arm is ripped off!"

"Mhm.. so, I-I accidentally broke Luigi's stuffed animal, and I know you can stich pretty well! So I was wondering if you could possible stich his arm back? I really messed up.. Luigi is so upset."
Peach noticed the look of guilt on Mario's face. She couldn't help but feel pity for him.
She removed the napkin off her lap and placed it on the table.

"Of course I will. This is a small tear, it will only take me about.. 5 minutes? If I'm estimating correctly."

"Thank you so much Princess! Please, let me cover your café bill, it's the least I could do-"

Peach shook her head. She took the stuffed animal and small arm into her hand, "No need, it was a very kind offer Mario! But I promise you this is my pleasure."

Mario smiled,
"Thank you, Peach.."

~With Luigi~

He felt guilty.
He didn't mean to raise his voice at his brother, he didn't like when that happened.
Luigi was sniffling and wiping his tears away,
"Maybe I should say sorry to brother.."
Luigi thought.

He got out of his bed and walked towards the door, opening it slightly. Instantly he noticed that Mario wasn't there anymore, "Brother..?"

"Oh! Sorry, Mario isn't here! It's just Toad!"
Toad waved through the door crack.
Luigi's eyes widened, "Hwe isn't.. here?"

Toad shook his head, "Nuh-uh! But don't worry, he'll be back soon! Oh, oh! Also, do you need anything?"

"..He left? Was I.. Bad?"

Tears started to well up in Luigi's eyes. Tons and tons of thoughts swarming in his mind.
Toad noticed this right away,
"Oh no! What's wrong? Is everything okay?"

Luigi shook his head,
"I wan' Mario.. hic hic, I wan' Mario!!"

~With Mario and Peach~

The minutes felt like hours and the seconds felt like minutes. Peach made note while walking with Mario that she had left her supplies at Toadstool's office. So know here he was, sitting in a chair. Mario's leg was slightly bouncing anxiously while waiting for Peach to sew on the arm.

"I know how you feel, Mario."
Peach interrupted Mario's thoughts, he looked up to Peach. He noticed that Peach had a small smile.. she was always so calm and elegant.
Mario wished he could be as calm as her.

"I remember when I had to wait to make something right, it feels like an eternity. But, Y'know, your heart is in the right place. You want to make something right between you and your brother, that's very noble of you."

Mario sighed,
"Yet I still feel like such a jerk.. I feel so bad for him. He loves that thing to bits."

"I know, it seems like he's had that ever since I've known him."

"Heh.. he's had it ever since we were kids. It's something that's special to him. But that's why I feel so terrible! I broke something he's had for years!"

Peach stood up from her chair and walked over to Mario, she held out Mario's hand and placed the fixed stuffed animal in his hand.
"Mario, let me tell you something I've learned throughout my life. We can all make mistakes. That's just our human nature. But what separates us is if we decide to make things right or leave them as is."
Peach smiled,
"And you Mario? I think me and you both know you'll do whatever it takes to make things right. And your so close to sealing the deal. Make things up with your little brother, Mario."

With a sudden wave of determination washing over Mario, he stood up and gripped the stuffed animal in his hand. "You're right! Thank you, Peach! I promise I'll return the favor!"
Mario urgently rushed out of the office and shut the door with a hard slam.
Princess Peach playfully rolled her eyes, "Tell Luigi I said hello!!"

~Back at the Mushroom Kingdom~

"Luigi..! I promise he'll be back soon! He didn't leave! He told me himself he would be back soon!"
Toad was trying his best to comfort the crying little. To his dismay nothing he tried was working at all.

"I wan' Mwario!! Please!!"
Luigi started coughing because of his shortness of breath, Toad started to pat him on the back.
"Careful, bud! You have to be careful!"

Luigi tried to wipe away some of his tears but they wouldn't stop. His throat hurt so badly from crying.
Everything he was doing made him feel so bad even in his regressed mindset.

"*hic,hic* I sorry.."
Luigi's voice was practically gone. It sounded so raspy, but Toad paid no mind to it. He didn't want fo hurt Luigi's feelings by pointing it out.

"You're okay Luigi, everything is a-okay! Y'know what gets me happy when I'm down? Ice cream!!"
Toad hopped up with much enthusiasm and held out his hand, "Follow me!"
Luigi nodded while sniffling and held Toad's tiny hand.

They both walked slowly down the stairs and started to make their way to the Royal Kitchen, until the sudden noise of opening doors caught their attention.
Luigi's eyes widened seeing his brother at the door. He was panting, he must've run all the way to the kingdom!

"Bwother!!"
Luigi let go of Toad's hand and ran to Mario. The little ghost finder hugged his brother tightly with the intent of never letting him go.
"I SO SORRY!! I nwo mean to be bwad! I-I won't ywell agwain! I'll be a gwood brother, I swear!!"
He sobbed into Mario's hat.
Yup, that's right, his hat. The two brothers had a wide height difference, Luigi being the tallest and Mario being the shortest.

Mario chuckled and placed the stuffed animal in his overall pouch that was on the chest of his overalls. He hugged his brother tight, rubbing circles on the distressed little's back. "It's okay, Brother. You're okay. You don't have to be sorry for anything.. I promise."

Mario could feel Luigi shaking his head "no", "Nuh-uh.. I was a bwad brother.."

"Luigi, no you weren't. You got upset that I hurt your stuffed animal, and.. I'm so sorry about that. If that happened to me I'd be pretty upset too, bro! Please don't be sorry."
Luigi was still crying.

"Hey, Luigi. I took your stuffed animal to the doctor,"

That caught Luigi's attention.

He looked at Mario with a look of curiosity,
"..You dwid..? That why ou' left?"

Mario nodded, "Mhm. And look!"
He brought out Luigi's stuffed animal from his overall pouch and handed to his brother. "Doctor Peach made him all better."

Luigi gasped and took the stuffed animal in his arms. He left his brothers embrace and hugged his stuffed animal, "Coco!! I mwissed ou!!"
Luigi inspected the stuffed animal while giggling, "Your awrm is fwixed!"

"Good as new!"
Mario chuckled, "Peach cured Coco for you, she made sure to fix my accident."
His smile went down to a slight frown, "And speaking of that.. I'm so sorry that I was so reckless with your stuffed animal, Luigi. I should've been more careful."

Luigi wiped some of his tears away and hugged his brother once more, "It's okay bro.. I forgwive ou. Accidents hwappen! That's what ou tell mwe, remember?"

Mario laughed and hugged his brother back.
He truly did have the best brother in the world.

"Your right..! Good point little bro.."
