Little: Garnet

It's been missions non stop this whole month for Garnet. Every day, it'd be mission. after mission. after mission.
But she knew she couldn't rest. Too much was on her shoulders to give up now, people needed her.

So here she was again, Garnet had just came back from her 35th mission this month, and she was exhausted. She took off her glasses for a moment to cover it with her hands.. trying to get some composure to herself.

To be honest, Garnet's been on the verge of slipping all day. The constant missions has been building on to her stress like a tower. And by now it's READY to collapse. But she wouldn't let the tower fall. She doesn't want it too.
She wants to stay big to reassure her team than she was more than capable of taking care of business.

Pearl peaks her head out a nearby door, "Ah! You're back!" Pearl walks towards Garnet, soon Amethyst  follows with a big of chips in her hands.

"So.. how'd todays mission go?"

"Not great. I wasn't able to receive what I was looking for. But it's fine, I planned to go back now anyway-"

Pearl grabbed a hold of Garnet's hand, it made her gulp a small bit.. You could never tell when Garnet was intimidated of afraid, but even with her glasses back on, you can tell her eyes are frantic.

"Garnet, take a rest.. your gems are over glowing. You know that isn't good."

"Oh sheesh, really?"
Amethyst walked closer to Garnet and gently grabbed her other hand, it was glowing like a blinking light bulb, it looked pretty painful.

"Oooh boy, that looks bad! Hey why don't you take a break-"

"I don't need your twos suggestions!- Let me finish what I have to d-do!"
Garnet tried to let herself go from the other gems grasp but that only made the two hold on tighter.

"No! You know you could split if you overwork yourself! That'd be the 3rd time this month!"

That was in fact true

Garnet had been pushing herself to the edge so much to the point where she would spilt back into Ruby and Sapphire. And it would take awhile to get them to fuse back.

"I.. DONT.. CWARE!!"
Garnet leaned very hard back, making the two gems finally loose there grip. She falls down on her back from the impact.

For the first time in awhile though, Amethyst and Pearl see what was once a familiar sight.
Garnet.. tears start to run down her face.

Pearl and Amethyst look at each other, sharing a similar look. Both filled with sadness, and nothing but pity for their leader.

"Sniffle, Gwo 'way.."

Garnet threw her glasses to the ground and buried her face into her chest. (She was sitting in that one position where you hold your legs to your chest, and lay your head down on your legs)

Pearl sighed,
"Garnet, are you-"

"I wan' mwama.."

...

"You mean, Opal, don't you?"

It was a brief silence, but Garnet nodded.

Amethyst sighed, "We can't just leave her hanging.."

Pearl nodded, and sighed.
"Excuse us for a minute, Garnet."

Garnet payed no mind to them leaving. She didn't care right now. She wanted mama. Only mama.

"I'm a bit rusty Amethyst so please bare with me here."
Pearl said stretching, Amethyst was also stretching.

"I've been waiting for this moment! It's gonna feel nice being able to fuse again, aye?"

"I suppose.. but this isn't fun and games, Amethyst. Garnet is in need. This is serious."

Amethyst frowned,
"I know, Pearl. I know." She gave a dry chuckle. "Now let's do this!"

They both leaned forward next to each other. Their gems started to glow beautifully.
Pearl did her ballet, and Amethyst did her Hip-Hop. Together it looked magnificent. Seeing each other's dance moves coordinate with one another was truly one sight to see.
When the time was right, Amethyst took Pearls hand and twirled her, doing a small dip at the end to put the cherry on top!

Both of them started to glow.
And soon, instead of the two, they had come together to form..

Opal~

Garnet was still crying on her own in the living room. She didn't want Pearl and Amethyst to leave. It made her feel more scared.. but she wanted to wait for Mama. She hasn't seen her in such a long time. But she always promised Garnet that she'd be her when she needed her most.

But Garnet hasn't regressed in such a long time. Centuries long.

After all that time.. Garent was worried that Opal had forgot about her. Forgot that she was still able ti regress.
To Garnet, Opal was her own person. And of course she was! But little Garnet didn't know that Amethyst and Pearl were the ones who were forming Opal. Garnet knew Opal was a fusion.
But little Garnet didn't.

"Baby?"

Garnet froze. She slowly perked up her head, she wiped away some tears and looked up to see...

"Mwama..?"

Opal smiled, "Yes darling, it's mama. I've missed my little one so much."

Opal bent down with open arms, "Come give me some hugs, please?"

Garnet stood up to best she could and ran to Opal, jumping into her large arms, crying her eyes out into her chest.
"M-Mwama!!"

"Ssshh.. Shhh.. I'm here now, Mama's here for you."

"W-where were y-you 'ama?!"

Opal sighed, "Mamas been.. she's been handling some things baby, I'm sorry.. I should've came sooner. I didn't mean to leave you all alone."

Opal sat Garnet down on her lap and wiped away to tears coming down from her eyes, she then gave her butterfly kisses onto her forehead.
"From now on, whenever you need me, or just want some cuddles, you shout for me. Okay? I promise I'll come every-time.."

Garnet gave a small giggle,

"I will Mwama.."

I'm still new to the Steven Universe fandom, I watched the movie and only a few seasons, but I hope I executed the characters well!
