The little Supreme Overlord of Ice.. The little Dark Overlord, Gundham Tanaka!!

Was afraid of the dark.

Pretty ironic, right? It wasn't always this way though. Gundham when he was in a bigger headspace wasn't afraid of the dark at all, in fact, he even enjoys reading and taking baths with faint candle light.

But when regressed it's a whole different story. In Gundham's regressed mind, the darkness meant monsters. And monsters could take him away! He didn't want that. He liked his comfy room!

So here he was.. in a very dark room, cuddling with all of his stuffed animals for comfort. He wanted to see his 4 Dark Devas, but he wasn't allowed to bring them in his nursery when it was nighttime.
The only light that was in the room was a small nightlight, but it was running out of battery. So the light was very faint.

Everywhere Gundham looked it was like a monster in the dark was looking at him. Now where felt safe.. the closet looked scary, the toy box looked scary, even the window looked scary!

"..I nweed to weave.."
Gundham muttered, he sat himself up and went to leave his bed, but a thought wouldn't let him go through with it. "Bwut papa mwight gwet angry.."

That was kind of unlikely. Hajime never got upset with Gundham! Not when he was big and not when little. But that didn't mean that Gundham's mind wouldn't stop telling him otherwise.
Sometimes the mind could be so mean!!

Gundham take a few deep breaths, "It's gwonna be otay.. it's g-gwonna be otay.."
Gundham tried to make himself comfy in the bed again.. but nothing was working. It was like the sheets were made of sand paper all of a sudden. Even his stuffies weren't giving any sense of closure at all.

It was just him and his thoughts..in this dark scary room..

•With Hajime•

"God there's nothing good on the TV..I really need to get the streaming services."
Hajime grumbled to himself. He was supposed to be doing some work to get ahead.. but hey, it's more than okay to give yourself a break right? Decides it was getting late anyway, he was thinking of calling it a night.

Hajime stood up from the couch and stretched his body, yawning right afterward.
"Thank goodness we have break.. I don't think I could take another day of classes."

Hajime scratched his head whilst walking down the dorm room hallway. Hopes Peak provided some pretty big dorms. 2 rooms, a small kitchen, small living room, what's not to like?
While he walked down the hall he stopped by Gundham's nursery door. He looked at his phone to see the time;

11:20pm

He creaked open the door of the nursery, he could instantly see a figure jolt up a little bit.
Out of confusion he turned on the lights, and before him was a little Gundham in distress.

"Gundham? Why're you still up? Are you okay?"
Hajime walked closer to Gundham's bed, sitting down on it shortly after.
"..Nuh-uh. The dwark is scary! I no wike it.. monstwers cwould get me."
Gundham scooted closer to Hajime and snuggled up against him.

Hajime tried his back to hold back a chuckle. He wasn't laughing at him because he was scared of the dark, it was just ironic to him how his little side and his big side were so different.
None the less, he held his little one close and ran his fingers through his wavy hair.

"No monsters will get you, my love. I promise your room is safe. Your stuffies are your Royal Guards, remember?"
Hajime shifted over and grabbed Gundham's toy, placing it in the little ones lap.

"You rwight. B-bwut they twold me they were scwared too! They hwid under the cwovers with mwe cause they mwonsters are swo scawy."
Gundham informed his caregiver.

"I see.. well, how about you and your stuffed animals sleep with me tonight? I think the Devas will be happy to see you."

Gundham's eyes lit up! It was nighttime and he got to see the Devas? This was the best night ever!

"Ywes pwease! I wanna sweep with ou."
Gundham left Hajime's side and grabbed his other stuffed animal, then he ran out of the room.
"I SWEE OU THERE!"
Gundham yelled faintly.

*blink blink*

"Heh.. I knew that'd get him riled up."
Hajime stood up, "I'll make him some milk, that should get him relaxed again."

•TimeSkip•

Hajime and Gundham were now in the bed together, watching Bluey on the TV before they go to bed. Gundham was drinking a sippy cup full on warm milk that Hajime prepared for him. It was definitely having an effect on his energy, feeling more tired then he previously just felt.

Gundham turned to his Devas cage, he could see they were all sleeping. The sight made him smile.. it was like they were in a cute hamster huddle!
But seeing them sleep also reminded him that he too should go to sleep.
Nap time was something that Gundham never hated!

The little one tapped his caregiver on the shoulder,
"I sweepy agwain.. cwan we swleep?"

"Of course we can, baby. I'm getting a little tired too." Hajime took away the sippy cup from Gundham and placed it on his night stand.

"Do you want your pacifier?"

Gundham shook his head,
"Nwot twoday, thank ou though papa."'

"No problem, kiddo." Hajime grabbed the remote then turned off the TV, the room was now pitch black.
Before Gundham could say anything Hajime brought him close to his chest. Hajime massaged Gundham's head a bit.

"Don't worry, you're safe with me. I promise no monsters will get you here."

Gundham let himself get less tense.. he rested his shoulders, he rested his face, he even rested his thoughts for a bit.
"..O-okway. I love ou, papa."

"Goodnight baby, sweet dreams. Don't let the bed bugs bite.."

So funny story- I was gonna have Gundham call Hajime "Haji" as a nickname-

But then I remembered that Haji Towa exists then I was like "Mmm.. nope."
