"Hey Paul, I was wondering if you could do me a favor," Bill, Paul's boyfriend said over the phone. Paul fiddled with his tie as he answered. "Yeah, sure."

"I have a last-minute meeting to go to tonight and I can't find another babysitter for Alice," he explained and Paul could hear him shoving things into his briefcase in the background. "I guess I could come over and watch her for a couple of hours," Paul offered kindly, fixing his tie in the mirror.

"Thank you so much, Paul, you're a lifesaver." Bill hung up after telling Paul when he needed to get there, leaving Paul to get ready. He normally didn't like kids, but Alice seemed to be the one exception. With her bubbly personality and her love of books, it was hard not to like her.

Or maybe it was just because she was Bill's daughter. Paul started driving over to Bill's house a few minutes later, thinking about his boyfriend the whole way there. The two men had been dating for a couple of months now, ever since Bill asked him to officially be his boyfriend on their third date.

Paul never really put a specific label on his sexuality. He simply figured he'd fall in love when he met the right person. And he really thinks that Bill might be the person for him.

Bill, on the other hand, has known he was gay for a couple of years. That was one of the main reasons why he and Alice's mother got a divorce.

When Paul arrived at Bill's house, his boyfriend had already left and Alice was sitting on the couch reading a book and waiting for him. When Paul closed the front door, Alice jumped up and ran over to him to give her favorite babysitter a hug.

Alice loved when Paul came over, either to babysit or to see Bill. She would always tell him how her day went or about the new book she was currently reading and Paul was always happy to listen.

Paul couldn't help but smile back down at her. "Can we watch a movie?" she asked when the two of them sat back down on the couch. Paul nodded and reached for the remote.

"What do you want to watch?"

Alice had to stop and think about it for a moment. "Toy Story," she finally answered after a couple of seconds. Paul found the movie and the two of them got comfortable and settled down to watch it. The movie flew by and it wasn't long before Alice fell asleep next to him, with her head on a fluffy pillow.

Paul sent Bill a quick text a couple of minutes before he got home, telling him to be careful not to wake her up when he gets back. A couple of minutes later and Bill's car pulled into the driveway. He was sure to open the front door quietly before stepping inside the warm house.

Paul stood up with a tired smile and walked over to his boyfriend. Bill slipped his jacket off and wrapped his arms lovingly around Paul, then gave him a small kiss on the forehead. "She really likes you, you know," Bill told him quietly, looking across the room at his sleeping daughter. Paul laughed under his breath.

"I never thought I would be any good with kids," he replied lightheartedly. Bill laughed at that and kissed him yet again, making Paul blush. "Thanks for doing this for me," Bill whispered in his ear, before pressing a quick kiss to his cheek.

Paul kept on grinning before leaning forward to kiss him properly. Bill wrapped his arms around his waist, grinned into the kiss and time seemed to freeze as he spent a perfect moment with his boyfriend.
