Another Joke One So We Can Stop Being Depressed

Lafayette's P.O.V.

Jefferson pushed me into the floor, obviously upset at me standing up for Hamilton.

"Are we gonna have a problem?" He asked, glaring down at me.

I looked up at him silently, scrambling back away from him. Even in his feminine clothing (roll with me), which consisted of a white blouse, a red skirt, red stockings, black shoes, and a red jacket, he still intimidated me.

"You got a bone to pick?"

He continued speaking to me, his voice angered and annoyed. Jefferson was pretty much my best friend, not to mention him and his group, which consisted of James Madison and Aaron Burr, we're the most popular people in the school. They are solid Teflon. Never bothered, never picked on.

Jefferson was kind enough to take me in when I got them out of detention when Aaron was sick. They made me feel like I belonged.

Of course, Alexander and I have gone back since we met in France. We were beat friends, and I could let them ruin him like that.

I clutched the note I had written in John Laurens' handwriting, backing up against the wall as Jefferson stood above me, Madison on his right and Burr on his left.

"You've come so far, why now are you pulling on my dick?"

By now, we had nearly everyone's attention in the hallway; I was surprised none of the teachers had come over. Jefferson bent down, lifting my chin up with a finger

"I'd normally slap your face off."

He stood up, throwing his hands into the air, gesturing to everybody in the hall.

"And everyone here could watch!"

Madison looked weary, and Burr just smirked. Jefferson looked down at me.

"But, I'm feeling nice, so here's some advice. Listen up, biatch!"

He snapped his fingers and music started playing from somewhere, and the three men started swaying their hips to the beat.

I slowly got up, stuffing the note into my pocket, starting to walk away. Before I could get far, however, Burr and Madison appeared in front of me.

"I like-" They spun me around to face Jefferson, who was right (literally right) behind me.

"Looking hot, buying stuff they cannot" As he said this, he pointed to a few people; a few I recognized to be Sam Seabury, Charles Lee, and John Adams.

I felt two hands on my shoulders, and Burr appeared on my right, Madison on my left.

"I like-" The boys sang, turning so Madison stood on Jefferson's right, and Burr on his left.

"Drinking hard, maxing dads credit card" Jefferson made the drinking symbol, then a credit card appeared in his hands briefly before he gave it to Burr.

"I like-"

"Skippin' gym, scarin' her-" He pointed to a girl, who I recognized to be Maria Lewis. "-Screwin' him." He pointed to one of the jocks, who I recognized to be James Reynolds.

"I like-"

"Killer clothes..." He gestured to his outfit. "Kicking nerds in the nose!"

All three kicked their right foot into the air, higher than their heads. It amazed me, but it also weirded me out too.

Jefferson looked to be in thought for a moment. "If you lack the balls, you could go play dolls, let you mommy fix you a snack." His tone was mocking as he turned and took a few steps forward before turning back to me.

"Or, you could come smoke, pound some rum and coke, in my Porsche with the quarterback!"

He knew that'd get me. I had a major crush on Hercules Mulligan, the quarterback, for a long time now, and he knew it. He smirked to me.

"Honey, whatchu waiting for? Step into my Candy Store!" He threw his arms out, smirking and bringing them down to his sides as if showing off a building. After, he quickly stuck out his finger and thumb in the shape of an 'L', giving me a good look before putting it to his forehead.

"It's time for you to prove your not a loser anymore~! Then step into my Candy Store!"

Burr stepped out from behind Jefferson, kicking my legs out from underneath me.

"Guys fall-" Madison and Jefferson said in unison, leaving Burr towering over me.

"At your feet, pay the check," Aaron said before Madison chipped in, "Help you cheat."

Aaron held out his hand, and I took it, assuming he was going to help me get up. He pulled his hand away, pointing a finger at my pocket, as if to say 'the note, dumbass.'

I turned, scrambling to my feet, walking away from the popular men.

All three blocked my path once again.

"All you-" They said in unison, and Aaron took my hand, spinning me around so my back was pressed against a locker.

"Have to do"

Jefferson stood in front of me, smirking widely. "Say good-bye to Shamu."

He took a step back and they regrouped together. "That freak's-"

"Not your friend, I can tell in the end." Madison's taunting voice came from beside me.

"If he-" All three.

"Had your shot," Aaron.

"He would leave you to rot!" All three. They all took a few steps back except for Madison, who got closer to me. He plucked the note from my pocket, passing it to Jefferson, who quickly ran over to Alex.

"'Course, if you don't care, fine! Go braid his hair!" Madison played with a curl of my hair that had fallen out of my ponytail. "Maybe Sesame Street is on!" He taunted, smirking.

"Or forget that creep-" Madison cut himself off, but Burr continued for him.

"-And get in my Jeep."

"Let's go tear up someone's lawn!" Jefferson finished, having come back, grabbing my hand and pulling me closer to him. "Woah, woah, woah!" Jefferson spun me out of his way, making me dizzy. I fell against a locker and the three men stood over me. I got up, and Jefferson made the other two take a step back. "Honey whatchu waiting for? Step into my Candy Store!"

Jefferson threw his arms out again. "You just gotta prove your not a pussy (*cringing hard*) anymore!" He moved his hands to cover his crotch while saying that, which I found amusing. "Then step into my Candy Store!" Jefferson's voice got higher as he held the note, to a pitch I didn't know he could reach.

"You can join the team~" Jefferson's voice was sickeningly sweet, and it sent chills down my spine.

"Or you can bitch and moan." The other two chirped in, smirking deeply.

"You can live the dream!" Jefferson's new sweet voice rang out. I began to wonder how many times they've done this to kids like me.

"Or you can die alone!" The other two weren't helping. They made it sound really good; they clearly didn't want me leaving the group...

"You can fly with eagles or if you'd prefer, keep on testing me and-"

"-end up like him!" The three sang the last part in unison pointing to Alexander, who was suddenly by my side. The three boys backed up a bit, still smirking and pointing to Alex.

"Laf, look! Laurens invited me to his homecoming party! This proves he's been thinking about me!"

I hesitated, looking between my friend to the popular males, the men I owe my uprising to. Do I tell Alex that I wrote the letter, risking everything I had earned in this school; all my popularity, my credit? Or do I spare my friends feelings, throwing all that away.

Nothing too bad could happen, right?

"Colour me stoked!" I exclaimed to Alex, deciding against my ladder option.

He grinned widely.

"I'm so happy!" And with that, Alexander ran off, and the boys continued.

"Whoa~!" Aaron tried taking the stage, holding the note and continuing, singing Jefferson's part, "Honey whatchu waiting fo-?"

Jefferson pushed him over, face angered. "Shut up, Aaron!" Madison rushed over to help Burr up, and I chuckled a bit as they continued, Aaron still rushing to straighten his green skirt.

"Step into my Candy Store~!" Madison and Aaron were back in their little 'formation' by then and the continued their part. "Time for you to prove you're not a lame-ass anymore!" During that time, Jefferson held his high note amazingly; I had to admit, he was good.

"And step into my Candy Store!" They moved forward, getting closer to me as I took a step back.

"It's my Candy Store, it's my candy. It's my Candy Store, it's my candy! Its my Candy Store, it's my Candy Store~!!"

The music ended as the men held a high note, surprisingly working. They had backed me into a corner, Jefferson smirking with arms on either side of me.

My face heated up.

"Just think about what I said." He added, spinning around and sashaying off just as the bell rang to start the school day.
