At night.
2 a.m.

Neil entered his room holding his blazer and  bag in his hands while his eyes were full of sleep.

He got so tired from his work..that he didn't even ate anything and just jumped on his bed to get some sleep.

He looked at Avni for a while, who was sleeping next to him...and then he just dozed off to sleep.

In morning. 10 a.m.

He got up late in morning as it was sunday and he did not have to rush to the office.

But what was strange to him was that Avni was still sleeping, who was always awake before him and never gets late in morning.

He find it strange that she is still sleeping.

Neil : Avni....? He tried to wake her up but of no use.

He tried many times but she gave no response.

Neil got worried.

Neil : Avni......avni.....What happened...? Avnii.....

he panicked badly at the moment.

When she didnt responded even after continuos patting and shaking.....he then immediately picked her up and left for the hospital.

Avni was inside the examination room...while neil was outised at waiting area.

He could not even sit for a second. Just roaming here and there.

After 15 minutes...doctor came out.

Neil : Doctor how is she...?

Doctor : You please come with me. I need to talk.

Neil patiently followed the doctor to her cabin.

His nervousness was increasing every second.

He sat on the chair.

Neil : Please tell me doctor...y..you are scaring me. she...she is okay na...just tell me once that she is fine....please..

Doctor : Mr khanna...yes she is fine.

These words just got some relief to him. But, that relief lasted no longer when doctor said...

Doctor : But do you even realise what could have happened with her Neil.

Neil (shocked) : I..i...didnt get it doctor....Please tell me what ....what happened..? he could not process doctors words as what she was talking .

Doctor : Were you aware of this...? That she is taking sleeping pills to sleep..because she cant sleep at night....from last 5 days. And that too in this condition.

This comes as a shoch to him. His eyes widened at doctors words.

Neil : WHAT...? S...sl...sleeping pills....lekin avni ne to mujhe kabhi nhi btaya....and last....last kuch dino se..i mean....how is this  possible doctor....that i..i didn't knew about this....

Doctor : Thats what I am asking neil. Ki how could you not know that your wife is taking pills to sleep and vo bhi aisi halat me jisme ye uske liye bilkul bhi thik nhi hai.

Neil : But how could she...and why is she...I mean.......Ek second...
he stopped in middle
wh...what did you said...? in this condition....aisi halat..
m...matlab....?

Doctor : She didnt told you....?

Neil was in another shock that whats exactly happening with him. As if he is unaware of everything going around him.

Neil : Pl...please say it doctor...I cant handle this confusion anymore. Just make it clear.....WHAT HAS HAPPENED TO AVNI....? WHAT HAS SHE NOT TOLD ME...?

Doctor : That she is Pregnant....!

neil just could not believe his ears. He was in an utter shock.

Neil (shocked) : Wh...wh...what...?
what did....did you said...?

Doctor : Yes neil...she is pregnant. Infact last sunday only... she got her tests done.

Neil could not believe that avni has hidden such a big truth from him.

Neil : She..she didnt told me
....Av...avni ne mujhse itni badi baat chhupayi. I mean how could she...?

Doctor was in another shock.

Doctor : Well its your personal matter neil...Let me not be in.. But what i am more concerned about is...that she is not taking rest and taking pills which are neither good for her nor for the baby.
Right now she is sleeping. But when she will get up i will talk to her.
I only wanted you to know about all this. You are the father...and her husband. Its your duty to take care. So...just be careful.

Neil just nodded and left the cabin. He was still under the shock.

He went to avni's room..and stood outside near the door.

Juts kept thinking that why she didnt told him anything.
