Summer Holidays

Esme's holidays were pretty boring. She wrote letters to Hermione and Ron. She even got letters from Draco. She wrote short replies to him. Harry didn't write all summer. Which surprised Esme as he promised to write to all his friends and he wrote to  no one. But then found out he was treated like a convict in his own house. She meet him and the Weasleys in Diagon Alley when she went to get her school supplies with Hermione. While in the book store she saw Draco and his father. But didn't talk to either of them.

Ginny Weasley

Esme rode on the train with Hermione and Ginny. As Harry and Ron didn't join them. Anyway Hermione introduced Esme to Ginny. Who is about to start her first year at Hogwarts. Esme wished her good luck for the sorting. But also decided to tell the girls the truth about her heritage. She placed a silencing charm around the compartment and told them. Ginny was excited, she'd never meet a royal before. Esme corrected her, by saying she was noble, not royal. Both Hermione and Ginny promised to keep it a secret.

First DADA Lesson

Ginny was placed into Gryffindor and Harry & Ron received detention. For flying a magical car to school. They also had letters sent home to their guardians. Ron got a howler the following morning. When Esme went to her first DADA lesson. She choose not to sit next to Hermione. Who was apart of the Lockhart fan club. She ended up sitting next to Draco.

They did a quiz on Lockhart. Then released a bunch of Cornish pixies into the classroom. Esme tried to get to her friends. But Draco dragged her out of the class and told her to return to her common room. She said she would and left. But doubled back and enter the classroom to see her friends facing the pixies alone.

"Immobulus" she said immobilizing the pixies. She and Hermione put them back into their cage, locking it. While Harry and Ron got Neville down from the chandelier. They then left the classroom. Harry, Ron and Esme complaining about Lockhart, while Hermione defended him.

Mud-blood and Slugs

Hermione and Esme were studying with Ron. On a bench in a courtyard under a tree. When the Gryffindor team arrive heading for the pitch for quidditch practice. Before they could leave the Slytherin team appeared. Flint gave Oliver a letter from their head of house, saying that they could use the pitch that day to train their new seeker.

Which turned out to be Draco Malfoy. Whose father got everyone on the team Nimbus 2001s. Hermione told Draco that no one on Gryffindor had to buy their way onto the time. That they got in on pure talent. Draco called her a mudblood and Ron tried to curse him. But it backed fired with his broken wand.

Esme helped Hermione and Harry take Ron to Hagrid's. As he was throwing up slugs. Where she learnt the meaning of the word Mudblood. From then on she vowed never to talk to Draco again.

Halloween Petrified Cat

Esme has managed to avoid Malfoy since the incident. It's now Halloween. Harry, Hermione and Ron went to Sir Nick's death day party. While Esme choose to eat with the Weasley twins. The feast was great. On their way back to their common room. They find everyone gathered around the trio in a flooded hall. Mrs Norris was petrified hanging from a torch and there was a message written in blood on the wall: The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir, beware

Rogue Bludger

Esme sat with Ron and Hermione as they watched the first quidditch match of the season. Slytherin were winning, due to their superior brooms. Leading by sixty points. Also a bludger was targeting Harry alone. Ron tried to stop it. But Esme stopped him with Hermione. When Draco fell off his broom. Harry caught the snitch after being hit by the rogue bludger. Hermione destroyed the bludger and Lockhart removed all the bones from Harry's broken arm. So Harry had to spend the night in the hospital wing while his bones grew back.

Dueling Club

Harry's bone had grown back. But Colin Creevey has been petrified. So Lockhart got permission to start a dueling club. With Snape as his assistant. Esme wasn't going to go. But Hermione dragged her along. After the demonstration Esme was paired with Pansy Parkinson by Snape. Esme mastered the shield charm quickly. While Pansy struggled with both spells.

Harry and Draco were called onto stage to demonstrate a duel. But used other spells aside from disarming and shield charms. Draco even summoned a cobra. Which Harry spoke to in parsel tongue before Snape made it disappear. Esme, Hermione and Ron quickly lead Harry from the room and tell him about how he could talk to snakes. And spoke another language.

Christmas at Hogwarts

Not many many students stayed for the Christmas holidays. After Justin from Hufflepuff was petrified along with Sir Nick. In fact Esme and Hermione were the only girls in the gryffindor girl dorms, aside from Ginny. So they had a sleepover in Hermione and Esme's dorm room. Christmas was great. And there were no attacks during the winter holidays. Though Hermione had to spend them in the hospital wing after using cat hair with a polyjuice potion.

Secret Diary

There have been no other attacks since school started back up. On Valentine's day Lockhart organized it so students could send secret love notes, sweets and sing-o-grams to each other. Esme received half a dozen gifts from secret admirers. But the only one she liked was a magpie pendant and sugar quills from an anonymous admirer. Not many people know, but she loves birds. Especially magpies.

Anyway Harry found a fifty year old diary and wrote in it. It showed him a memory of Hagrid with a deadly creature. Harry summarized that Hagrid opened the Chamber fifty years ago. And that's why he was expelled. Esme didn't believe it for a second that Hagrid was guilty.

Petrified

Esme decided not to go to the quidditch match as she was behind on homework. So went to the library. She saw a Ravenclaw sixth year also studying. She sat at her and Hermione's usual table. And started to do her Charms essay. When Hermione appeared with a book. She showed Esme the page on the basilisk. Esme theorized that it must be using the plumbing as Harry had been hearing voices in the walls.

They told the ravenclaw student who took out a mirror. Saying they could use it to look around corners. They did so. After Hermione ripped the page from the book so that they could show it to the professors. They don't get far until the see a pair of yellow eyes in the mirror and become petrified.

Revival

Esme walk up in the hospital wing in a bed beside Hermione's. They were given a clear bill of health and told about how Harry solved it with Ron. And killed the basilisk in the chamber of secrets. They then went to their common room. Had a mush needed shower and changed into clean robes. Before heading to the great hall. Where they hugged Harry and shook Ron's hand. Hagrid returned and Dumbledore announced that the exams had been cancelled. Esme was relieved, while Hermione was upset. Gryffindor won the house cup again and the school year ended.
