Ai Kitora, A-Rank. No.5 Agent
(1st Person PoV: Tubbo)
"I admit that he did save people here but if we let this go unnoticed, other C-rankers might follow his example. We can't let him get away with this without a punishment," the girl remarked.
She sounded very...not bratty but very prideful.
I saw Yuma turn to Osamu and ask, "Who is she?"
"Ai Kitora. She's an A-rank despite being in middle school," Osamu explained.
Middle school? So this girl is younger than me?! That b*tch! Wait, I shouldn't call someone who is younger than me a b*tch. But she kind of wants Osamu to get punished when he had to use his Trigger! He had no choice! And it's not like this squad would have arrived on time! Those kids would have gotten killed if Osamu didn't turn up! No, I can't let this slide, I thought, getting angry.
I have to give this girl a piece of my mind but that'll have to reveal that I was here and that I also used my Trigger.
Eh screw it, what's the worst that can happen?
"Besides, we would have handled it if we have gotten here," Kitora said.
Ok that's f*cking it!
"Whoa whoa whoa! Hold the f*cking phone. No you wouldn't!" I ran up to them.
They all looked at me in confusion.
"Sorry if I'm speaking out of line here but like hell you would. You weren't here to save the students at this school so the next best thing was a trainee who happens to be enrolled in this school. In fact, they're lucky to have him around," I pointed to Osamu to let them know who I was talking about, "it's best to have a C-rank save everyone than to have a couple of dead kids laying around while they were waiting for you!"
"I...who do you think you are?" Kitora snapped.
"Tubbo! C-Rank and someone who saw Osamu's bravery. I arrived a little late to save anyone but I didn't need to since Osamu handled it well. I only jumped in at the end and that's it. You have no right to speak of the what if's of this situation. Osamu saved his classmates, he has done more than you on this day," I explained.
"I agree. Do you need permission to save people in Japan?" Yuma walked up to stand next to me.
"That'll have to depend on the person. But in Border, yes. He used a Trigger and Triggers belong to Border. Heh, trainees am I right?" Kitora replied.
...
"No they don't."
"Huh?"
"The Triggers belong to the Neighbors," Yuma said, dropping a bombshell of a statement.
"Hold up, what?" I asked.
Everyone was in shocked.
"What, do you need permission from the Neighbors to use Triggers? I fail to see your logic," Yuma explained.
"Who do you think you are?" Kitora snapped.
"Yuma, pipe down," Osamu whispered to Yuma but Yuma seemed to ignore this.
"Someone who was saved by Osamu. Tubbo here is right, you have no right to talk about the what if's. Even though he arrived late, Tubbo did actually try to help but Osamu already had it under control. He did more than you," Yuma explained.
Kitora glared at him and opened her mouth to say something but got interrupted by someone clapping their hands.
"I just checked the school, there are no more Neighbors here. We can leave now," someone said.
It was a guy who was also wearing the red uniform that Kitora and Arashiyama were wearing.
"B-but Tokieda-senpai," Kitora tried to saying something.
"Osamu's punishment is not ours to decide but the higher ups. Right Arashiyama?" Tokieda asked.
"Yep! Let's leave now, we got to report this. Oh and Osamu, make sure you head to Border headquarters when you're done with school ok?" Arashiyama said.
"Right," Osamu nodded but he sounded down.
Arashiyama gave him a sympathetic smile and placed his hand on Osamu's shoulder.
"Don't worry, I'll make sure that your punishment isn't harsh. I owe you for saving my little brother and sister," he said.
Osamu looked happier after he said.
"Guess I'm heading off. Take care, you two," I waved but got stopped by Arashiyama as well.
"You too, umm Tubbo was it? You also used your Trigger so you also have to head to headquarters but don't worry, I'll also make sure that your punishment isn't harsh," he assured me.
"......thanks I guess," I said.
Honestly getting a punishment from Border is the least of my problems.
I have to face Puffy and Bad once they hear that I also used my Trigger.
Welp, guess there is no use in hiding this from them. At least Puffy is nice enough to understand.
Bad though, he's a bit overprotective about us using our Triggers. I think he might mellow down as soon as we become B-Rank.
I walked back home and thankfully, Puffy was the only one there.
Thank god!
"Oh Tubbo, you were out?" She asked.
"Yep, by the way is there any food? I'm starving," I told her.
"There's some leftovers from last time," Puffy explained
"Thanks," I murmured.
I took out some of the leftovers, went to where I usually sit (in front of the TV) and ate up the leftovers.
(Time skip)
It was nearly time for me to go the Border headquarters but how can I leave without alarming anyone?
I have to sneak away.
I looked around to see what everyone else was doing.
Niki is on cooking duty, Skeppy was cleaning the rooms, Bad and Puffy were discussing how our next training is going to go.
I was supposed to be dusting but I was too busy checking the time to be dusting completely.
"Tubbo, you missed a spot," Bad spoke up.
"Huh? How are you able to see me?" I asked.
Bad looked up from the notebook that he was writing in and stared at me.
"I glanced up and you looked distracted. Also there's still cobwebs over there," he told me.
I looked to see a faint outline of a cobweb.
No way, Bad could see that from where he was sitting. Unless he has really good eyesight.
"Tubbo, what's on your mind?" Puffy asked, politely.
"Nothing! I can assure you Puffy, that nothing is on my mind. I'm not distracted nor am I worried about something," I assured her.
"No one said anything about you being worried. Are you worried about something? You're usually never worried," Bad explained.
Sh*t! I thought but I shook my head.
Bad and Puffy exchanged looks worriedly but I chose to ignore this.
I don't want them knowing about that I have to go to headquarters because I used my Trigger even briefly.
But how can I without them knowing?
Crash!
"Skeppy!" Bad jumped up and ran into the room that Skeppy was cleaning.
I peeked inside and saw that Skeppy has knocked over the lamp.
Puffy and Niki stopped what they were doing and went to look at what Skeppy did.
Now's my chance!
I sped walk away, put on my shoes and left.
But where should I start?
It would be awkward to wander around and asking where do people go when they get punished for using their Trigger as a C-Rank for uses that are NOT for training.
I'm not risking that!
Somehow, again, I made it to the school where Osamu and Yuma were at.
There was a crowd of students standing around and I recognize someone.
It was Kitora and she was telling people not to take pictures of her.
Welp that didn't happen because she got bombarded with pictures.
She eventually gave him and seemed like she was posing while muttering that it can't be helped.
She stopped when she noticed that someone was staring at her.
I looked to see that Osamu and Yuma have arrived.
Kitora straighten up her composure and told Osamu that she will be escorting him to headquarters.
Something tells me that she's not exactly here to escort him per se.
"And you! Ummm, Tubbo was it? You're also coming with me," Kitora pointed to me, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"Ah, ok," I said.
We walked sometime away from the school and close to Headquarters.
As we were walking, Kitora basically confirmed what I thought.
She was here to make sure that we wouldn't run away. Not that we would.
I was feeling anxious about it all day and Osamu, from the little time that I have known him, didn't seem to be that kind of person.
I was zoning out during their conversation because it didn't interest me until Yuma spoke up.
I honestly didn't even know that he was there.
"What are you doing here? Why are you following us?" Kitora asked.
"Technically I was with them this whole time, you just followed us," Yuma pointed out.
It was at this moment that I knew, Yuma and I would be great friends.
"He's not wrong," I said.
"You two should show respect to an A-Rank! Especially when you're C-Rank," Kitora glared at me.
"I don't really understand all this ranking stuff is all about. I'm just an outsider, am I not?" Yuma asked, making a duck face.
"Hmmph! Then allow me to explain," Kitora said.
She explained how there are three rankings in Border.
C-Ranks are trainees and that's how people usually start of as.
B-Ranks are official members of Border and can use their Triggers outside of training.
A-Ranks are essentially the best of the best out of B-Ranks.
I mean, I know that they are strong. I can sense that but do I really care?
No I don't. I really don't.
"I don't really care that much about ranks. I understand why you are the best of the best but I reckon that you need to take it down a notch," I explained.
"What do you mean you don't care?" Kitora asked.
"I mean at the end of the day, it's all about saving the city from the Neighbors," I explained.
And trying to find a way back home, I thought to myself.
"Speaking of which...hey Kitora," Osamu piped up.
"It's Kitora-san. Use the honorific," she said.
"But you're my age," Osamu said.
"So? I'm A-Rank and you?" Kitora asked.
"...C-Rank...s-so anyway, I have a question and I was wondering if you knew the answer," Osamu explained.
"Perhaps."
"Why were there Neighbors in our school? It's away from the Forbidden Zone?" Osamu asked.
"Hmm, I guess a C-Rank wouldn't know that. Fine, I'll tell you," Kitora sighed.
"Recently Neighbors have been appearing in spots away from the Forbidden Zone. The engineers have been trying their hardest to figure out why but still no luck. Thankfully, the Neighbors have been defeated by off duty agents. However, we don't know when that'll be enough. We have been keeping this quiet so the public wouldn't panic but if we're not careful, this could soon turn out to be a bigger problem," she explained.
Ok that...that's a lot of information. Neighbors appeared out of the Forbidden Zone? Why haven't we heard or seen something like that before? I wondered.
"There must be something that Border can do!" Osamu urged.
"I told you, the engineers are working on it," Kitora assured him.
Then a blue portal appeared on top of the bridge.
A weird creature appeared out of it and it began to float around in the sky.
I didn't like this.
"What's that! I never seen that before!" Kitora cried.
"Yuma, what's that?" Osamu whispered to him.
"An Ilgar and a rare one. It's a type of bombing Trion solider," Yuma explained.
Trion Solider? Huh, does Yuma know a lot of Neighbors? I thought.
"Crap! It's heading towards the city!" I pointed.
It was and it was bombing the place.
"We have to stop it!" Osamu said.
Kitora said nothing but she grabbed her Trigger.
Osamu went up next to her.
"You're still going to use your Trigger?" She asked.
"Yeah, I have to help! I can't stand around while seeing people get hurt," Osamu explained.
"I knew you have a noble intention," I said and went to grab my Trigger.
"Tubbo!" Someone called out to me which almost made me drop my Trigger.
"Sh*t," I muttered as Puffy ran up to me.
"What are you doing? I thought I saw you leave the house without a word! Everyone else is freaking out and we all went out to find you," she scolded me.
I bowed my head.
"Sorry Auntie," I muttered softly.
Puffy sighed at this.
"It's alright, just tell us next time," she said.
"We have more pressing issues to attend to," Yuma interrupted and pointed to the Ilgar.
"When did a Neighbor get here?" Puffy cried.
"Not too long ago. Come on, we have to help!" I exclaimed.
Kitora and Osamu were already in their uniforms and they were talking about Osamu's lack of a weapon.
I guess he still isn't strong enough because of what happened at his school.
But then, Osamu took a long look at the city.
"There are more than one way to help with a Trigger," he said.
"You're planning on saving as much people as you can from the rubble are you?" Puffy asked.
"Huh? Yeah I am. How did you guess?" Osamu asked, surprised.
Puffy smiled at this and she also held up her Trigger.
"Can't leave a kid out on his own while I, an adult, do nothing. I'll help you," she said.
"Hmm, I guess it's more people in Border," I heard Yuma muttered.
Basically Kitora went on to take down the Ilgar while Osamu, Puffy and I went to help people.
Oh and Yuma stayed behind but he left Osamu with a clone of Replica, who I forgot existed until now.
"Tubbo, you're going to have to fill me in later," Puffy said.
"Yeah, there's a lot," I agreed.
There were a lot of rubble and people trapped behind it.
A little girl was crying for her mother and didn't noticed a large piece of rubble that was about to fall on her.
She got saved by Osamu who took the blow for her. He was ok though, due to his Trion body.
Once people noticed that people from Border were here, they cheered and were happier that they were getting saved.
Some of them were still stuck behind the rubble so Osamu and I tried to help them but the rubble was too heavy to lift even with two people pushing.
And I'm unusually strong so I thought that I wouldn't have that much of a problem.
Until Replica's clone called out to Yuma, who decided to help us from where he was.
I guess Yuma has a Trigger of some sorts because Osamu and I could lift the rubble up easily. Light as a feather.
People were getting saved and guided to the shelters by Puffy.
Things were going great on our side.
I just hope things are the same with Kitora.
A/N: sorry if the ending was a bit rushed, I wanted to finish this chapter.
So how did you like that? How was this chapter?
Btw I gave a small hint on the other person who has the second Side-Effect. Tubbo has the first one and someone else has the second one.
But what is a Side-Effect? You'll have to stay tuned (or watch World Trigger or look it up on the Wiki or something)
