03 ~ Hey There

Warning: Mentions of self harm.

Asshats might be a good thing.

Or an asshat might be a good person.

Not anyone in particular...

But yes, someone in particular.

You chuckle to yourself as you wipe down tables, thinking about the cheesy way Jimin was acting today.

You would've never thought that someone like Jimin would be like that. He tends to hang around a group that aren't so sweet, and you were expecting Jimin to be the same as them.

Jimin, Chanyeol, Jae, Mingyu and Lucas.

They were the infamous five.

They were all rich snobs, but that's besides the point.

You felt guilty for misjudging Jimin. You would've thought he was a rich snob too.

Well he is rich, that's for sure.

But he didn't seem to be a snob, not to you anyways.

In fact, you saw how he treated people and you couldn't help but feel as if he treated you differently.

And you suddenly found yourself smiling away to yourself.

///

Depending on the day, you would either walk home or take the bus home.

Due to your financial status, you would opt for walking home. But then you remembered a particular asshat left a tip in your shirt pocket.

You took out the money from your shirt pocket, preparing it to give to the bus driver so you could avoid that awkward situation where you are fumbling with change to give to the driver and then you drop some and it all ends up with you wishing you walked home to save yourself the embarrassment.

Any who,

You took the money out of your shirt and was surprised to feel more than one note.

You thought he would gave you a note worth about five.

You could've swore he didn't give you that much.

This must be a mistake, you thought.

You were blinking aimlessly at the money.

The hell?

You shook your head and put the money in your purse, only taking the small amount needed for your bus fair.

You were feeling a bit hazy.

I'll just give him the money back tomorrow, because this must be a mistake, you mentally thought.

Oh how much you wanted to just keep the money and just pretend like it never happened. You could only sit and imagine how nice it would be to have it and what you would spend it.

But unfortunately for you, your pride overruled your wants.

Morals suck.

You saw the bus approach and you were very happy when you didn't have any incidents when paying the driver.

The bus was near empty, just as you liked it. So, you made your way to a seat and you placed your bag on the free seat beside you, because no one wanted that weird pedo that sat beside you when there was other free seats.

You rubbed your temples and yawned.

It was an eventful day, for sure.

And now you have to go to the place where you lived currently.

A place you refused to call home.

A place that you were hoping you wouldn't have to live in for much longer.

///

It didn't take long for the bus to arrive to the stop nearest to the house.

You thanked the driver with a polite smile and stepped off the bus, only for others to get in the bus.

You walked through the neighborhood, your body tense as usual.

This was not a nice neighborhood, at all. You've lived here for almost two years. Its known around the area for being a ruff area. Meaning that it wasn't the safest of places.

Car alarms went off as often as birds sing.

Windows were broken as fast as the winds blowing in trees.

And the stench of marijuana spread faster than the chicken pox in any poor eight year olds class in school.

Both considered dangerous to anyone you met.

You moved with the man who is considered to be your father after your mother passed.

You used to live in a nice house. Not to big, not to small, it was just right you could say.

You used to have a very strong relationship with your mom. She was understanding and caring.

She always had the perfect cure for whatever it was that was wrong with you.

Be it a stomach ache, or just some kids picking on you at school.

Your father on the other hand was never the ideal dad. He would never want to participate in anything got to do with you and your mom.

Your mom used to just say that he was just a bit of a introvert, but that was a load of bullshit.

He was only with your mother because she was a family friend and it pleased his parents.

And he didn't used to act the way he acts with you now, but that was due to the fact that he had to keep your mom on his good side otherwise she would divorce him and he would've never recovered from that.

But now in his mind, your mom was gone so who cared what happened to you.

And that's why he acted the way he did.

He lost his job.

He lost his house.

And all sense of pride really.

He became an alcoholic and a serious gambler.

And where did he get his money you might ask?

That's where you come in.

Not only were you his punching sack, you were his source of an income.

And that's why he hadn't gotten rid of you.

Yet, anyways.

You wouldn't face anything harder in life than losing your mother. It's been nearly two years and it hurts more and more each day.

But sadly, that was your life.

Has ending your life and putting yourself out of your misery ever crossed your mind?

Yes, yes it has.

But whenever that thought came into your mind you would immediately think of how disappointed your mother would be, and that was enough for you to not do such horrid things.

You arrived upon your house.

The lights were on.

Shit.

You decided to sneak in by means of your bedroom window. It just seemed like an easier way than facing the scary man inside and facing one of his severe punishments.

So that's what you did, you opened the window to your bedroom and climbed in. You quickly scurried to your door, locking it quietly so that you did not disturb anyone.

Anyone being your father.

You then closed the window and moved to your bed to do your homework.

As you can imagine, your room was quite plain and boring. It had a bed that had flimsy sheets that were older than you, a few drawers that were run down and wallpaper that was peeling from the wall.

You did have a rug from your old house that you adored because it was so soft and a painting that your mother bought you for your old room.

You managed to keep these after lots of begging to the men who were taking all of your things when you were being evicted.

So to say you cherished these two simple things of furniture was an understatement.

You checked the time on your old Nokia phone and saw that it was near midnight.

And you had no homework done.

Great, you sighed. You had a long night in ahead of you.

///

You woke up early, very early. You did this in order to avoid your father, but also so you could be at the school early to have some alone time for reading.

You packed your work uniform in a bag so you could go to work straight after school. You also remembered to bring Jimin's money.

You left the house, making sure to close the door quietly. You remember the day you closed the door a bit too loudly and it woke your father.

Your head still throbs at the memory.

It was calming walking to school early.

You were always more of an early bird than a night owl anyways.

You arrived at the school at around the same time as everyday, firstly going to your locker and then making your way to class.

You opened the door and sighed in relief at the sight of an empty classroom.

You sat in the back row, just as you liked it, and pulled your book from your bag.

You were struggling with trying to focus so instead you decided to just cross your arms on the desk and lie down on your folded arms.

You felt yourself drifting into a needed sleep, but the sound of the class door opening brought you out of your consciousness. But you still didn't lift your head from your position.

It wasn't until you heard the chair in front of your desk move that you shot your head up from your original position.

Who the hell-

"Hey there, muffin" the grinning blonde boy spoke.

"Oh, you weren't kidding about actually calling me that?" You asked lazily and he shook his head.

You then remembered the money.

"Actually, I have to give you something" you said reaching into your bag.

"Ah Muffin, you're already giving presents this early into our relationship? It's not even our one week anniversary. You really must be smitten for me" he teases and you roll your eyes.

"Just shut up you asshat" you passed back his money.

"Money?"

"Yeah you probably lost your senses as you were talking with me, because this is not a tip" you laughed before giving it to him.

He chuckled. "What an innocent muffin" he smiled. "That wasn't a mistake"

Your eyes widened.

To the point where you thought they would pop out of your skull.

"Are you crazy?" You scolded.

"What?"

"When you tip, you're supposed to double the tax. Not double the tax of Romania" you said, shocked.

"That's a bit of an extreme statement, don't you think?" He chuckled and you couldn't possibly even answer. "Well, opps. I made a mistake" he pouted.

"I can't possibly accept this" you say, grabbing the money so you could forcefully give it back.

But just as you picked it up, he put his hand on top of yours. "Please don't. I don't need it, I'll only spend it on something silly" he admitted.

"No-" you protested.

"Take it or I'll ask Alex on another date to the cafe tonight" he spoke and you froze.

"You wouldn't-" you eyed him.

"Wanna try me?" He tested.

Damn, he knew his stuff.

"Fine" you murmured.

He smiled sweetly and took his hand off of yours.

"Thank you" you said quietly.

"Sorry, I didn't quite get that" he said jokingly, putting a hand to his ear.

"I said thank you, you asshat" You say a little louder.

"No problem muffin" he smiled.

"You really shouldn't be calling me that. If the Barbie hears you, I will be blamed and it will just be bad for both of us" You explain and he vigorously shakes his head.

"I wouldn't let her do anything. The nickname is staying" he said proudly.

"Do you even remember my name?" You asked teasingly.

"Of course I do y/n! It's muffin!" You sighed and rolled your eyes.

"Asshat describes you down to a tee" you laugh and he can't help but join you.

You were too caught up with your conversation with Jimin to hear the click of shoes make their way towards you.

"Morning baby" the girl spoke as if Jimin was her Ken.

He nodded towards her as a form of a greeting.

"What are you two talking about?" She asked, trying to mask her anger.

Jimin looked towards you and chuckled.

"Just a joke we have" he smiled and you felt your chest tighten just as Alex's teeth clenched.

"Right, well, where is my good morning" she said seductively.

Well tried to say seductively.

Jimin just sighed as she leaned down to him as he was sitting in his chair and they attached there lips together.

You couldn't bare to look.

So you simply looked at your twiddling fingers and you didn't stop until you heard the teachers voice call for everyone's attention.

And it was only then that you saw they separated from one another.

Ew.

That was the only way to describe their relationship.

They were just so ew.

A/N: hello! I hope you enjoyed this chapter! I'm not very good at this but oh well :( Plus I'm just after realizing that most of this book is dialog... I'm not sure if that's good or bad...

Lots of love xx
