Pjo ff prologue #3
My teacher tries to snap my neck and I punch him
I wasn't the one wanting to go to aikido. Actually, I would prefer some free time for my fanfictions, damnit!
But my mother, the worried parent she was, told me it was wa-ay too dangerous to come home in the dark. I just rolled my eyes at her. And the moment I tried to argue, my father would step in and yell at me for arguing with my mother. Then things would turn an ugly way and I would end up crying in my room. So to avoid all that drama and the yelling of my father (which he did way too often if you ask me. He really should take anger management classes. I mean, it's not my fault if he has a stressful day at work.) I agreed to take aikido classes.
So after school, I had grabbed my clothes to head toward aikido class.
The air was chilly, as I stepped out of my apartment and I hugged my jacket tightly. My blue dyed hair flew around in the wind and I took a shaky breath in.
I started walking and let me tell you this, my feet were hurting.
I normally take the shorter way to class but his time I was earlier out to take the longer way.
There are green trees alongside the narrow road, as I inhaled the soft spring scent. I actually loved spring. It wasn't too hot like in summer, neither too cold like in winter, although I liked every season.
Yes. I was that shy girl, who couldn't decide anything, nor could throw away the smallest and the most unimportant stuff. Oh, and forgetful.
This was the moment I realized I had forgotten my contract at home, on my bed. Where I should have seen it and packed it in my bag. Facepalming I sighted in frustration. "Damn." I hissed. Why me? Why was I always the one forgetting stuff? Why was I always the unimportant one? Sighting, I realized I was five minutes early and it was the perfect time to get ready.
I typed the password in, a slight buzz rang and I opened the door. I was greeted by a white room and the dead-looking puppet next to the door. She had a white suit on and had her legs crossed, her arm resting on the top one. "What are you woman looking at?" I hissed. If looks could kill, she would be already dead, if she was alive, that is. I let out a laugh at my own joke and continued to stroll up the white stairs.
I could hear the people training, a man shouted a single syllable and it was quiet. I took off my shoes at the entrance, which was decorated with wooden seats.
After taking off my shoes, I sneaked into the white room, tiptoeing into the changing room. After sliding the door shut, I took out my white suit and sliped it on. I tucked my black socks into my bag and hurriedly went out to wait for more instructions.
"Rose!" The teacher exclaimed and I spun around. He was a tall guy, around my height and had short brown hair. He looked happy to see me again. "Where were you the past two weeks?"
I scratched the back of my neck. "Uh, I was sick the first week and the second one... I had too much homework." I smiled. I was always good at lying.
"Well, I hope you got well." He nodded. "Where is your contract?"
"I forgot it at home." I trailed off, looking at the soft plastic ground.
He sighted. "This is the second time this has happened." My teacher paused. "Do you want me to call your mom to remind you of it?" She would kill me.
"No, I'll just write it onto my phone." I quickly answered, realizing it was half past six. I took place at the corner between the big mirror wall and the teacher's separate room. Other students gathered along the mirror wall and turned their heads toward the teacher, who greeted them in Japanese. Surprisingly, there were non of my friends here today. We bend over and put both of our hands under our head, which rested on them. After a short pause, we sat upright again, this time closing our eyes and sit still, in peace for a moment.
A brief silence hung in the air and the slight buzz rang in my ears. Some shuffling sounds errupted from other students and I noticed the teacher standing up. Opening my eyes at the right time, I realized he was about to attack me. I jumped up, ready to defend myself.
My heart was pumping fast in my chest, like a tiger ready to go into the wild. Adrenaline rushed trough my body, as I saw other students gather around the teacher as in that one second, that one tiny second I lost control over my brain.
All I saw was a blur and my brain was doing all it had to do. At some point, I felt a sharp pain in my side and the next moment I was disarming the man holding the blunt training knife.
I stood there in the middle of a massacre for a moment, before I collapsed to the ground, panting.
This was why my parents put me here. When I sensed something was about to happen to me, my brain would take control over my whole body, blocking every emotion except for pain. After the massacre, I would realize what I had done, but it would be too late. This was the reazon I never had friends and landed two times in prison. Other times I managed to flee away in time. And aikido wasn't just about defending yourself, it was about the control over your own body.
Now I was kneeling in the middle of yet another massacre, regretting every action. I shakily looked up, seeing the limp bodies of my teacher and the students spread across the floor. Some had their arms or legs twisted, some were lying in fatal position. And one of them had a deep cut on their arm. Seriously, how did I manage to cut him with a blunt knife?
I stood up, still shaking and spun around. There was a boy standing in the waiting room, gesturing me to follow him. I nodded, limping toward the dressingroom, still exhausted. I quickly changed into my normal clothes, tucking my aikido suit into my backpack. I rushed out with a splitting headache to wear my black boots and my brown coat.
"That was great. Now, demigod, we have to run." He grabbed my hand, leading me out the door, down the steps and onto the busy road.
Demigod? As in half God half human?
"Wait, I'm a demigod?" I asked curiously.
He nodded in response. "And I think I know who your dad is."
