You were confused as to why Papyrus stole Mettaton away from you right when you were about to have a special bonding with Mettaton.

You knew that Papyrus wouldn't pull him away from you on purpose like that, so you just assumed that it was his goofy timing again and went to talk to your monster friends.

You first found Toriel and decided to talk to her because she was closer and you didn't feel like finding someone else to talk to.

"Hey, Tori. Howzit goin'?"

She turned around in shock, as if she didn't expect you to be here. "Oh, why hello, (y/n)! How are you today on this fine evening."

"A little tired, to be honest."

She giggled. "Yes, one could be tired after working on such a party like this."

"Yeah, I guess. Hey, where's Asgore and Asriel?"

"Asriel has homework to do and Asgore is helping him."

"I guess that makes sense. By the way, why are you still living with Asgore? Aren't you two divorced or something?"

"We are, but Asriel prefers having two parents."
