Chapter 6

I woke up with his arms around me. "Good morning babe." "Mhmmm...morning Louis." "Mummy?" It took me a second to realize she was talking to me. "Yes sweetie?" "Come here please." I got out of his grasp and walked over. I turned to look at him for a slight second and saw him smirking. "Hey, what's wrong?" "Lay down with me." I nodded and did so, an arm around her. "You okay?" She shook her head and put her face into my side. "My head hurts." "Want me to go get you so medicine?" "Have daddy do it." I laughed. "Babe, do you mind going to get her some medicine?" "Not at all." He walked over, kissed us both and left out the door. "Mum?" "Yeah?" "When's my birthday?" "You don't know when your birthday is?" I asked stalling. I didn't know. Louis never mentioned it. "No..." "Guess." "January 1st." I shook my head. "January 2nd." "Are you just going to guess everyday?" She nodded and giggled. I laughed and started tickling her. I placed kisses all over her face and heard laughing. I turned my head to see Louis laughing at the scene. "Hey babe." I said, taking the medicine from him. I gave it to her and she took it with ease. "Thanks Daddy. Thanks Mummy." "You're welcome." Louis walked over to the side of her bed. "Lou, can you believe she can't remember her birthday?" "Oh my gosh Alyssa! How could you not remember it's September 13th?! It's in 2 days!" He said laughing. She giggled and played with her hands. "Hey A are you glad to be out of school?" She nodded smiling. "I am too." "Why are you mummy?" "I'm your preschool teacher and your classmates are crazy!" She giggled and pulled herself into my lap. Louis sat on the bed beside me and wrapped an arm around us. "Sweetie are you feeling any better now?" She nodded and hugged Louis. I played with her hair and got it out of her face. The doctor soon walked in. "Hello Tomlinsons. Alyssa how are you feeling?" She shrugged. "My head still kinda 'urts...that's it though." He nodded and walked over to us. "Let me check your blood pressure." She stayed still while he strapped it to her arm. He started pumping it and I could tell it was kinda hurting her arms because she squeezed my hand. "You okay honey?" She nodded. Louis held her close and kissed her head. "Okay, you're blood pressure is fine. You should be able to check out in about an hour." She smiled and looked up at Louis. "Did you hear that daddy? I can get out of here and we can get ice cream!" He laughed and nodded. "I know baby. We'll have to go get you some ice cream." She smiled and laid in between us. "Daddy, do you love me?" "Of course." "Do you love me mummy?" I nodded. "Of course sweetie." "Daddy, do you love mummy?" Louis smiled and looked up at me. "Yes I do." "Mummy, do you love Daddy?" I nodded. "Yeah...I-I do." Louis' hand found mine and we smiled at each other for a second before looking at her again. "What's with all of the questions A?" She shrugged. "Just wondering." I smiled and kissed her head. "We'll be right back, we need to talk in the hallway alright?" She nodded and I got up, following Louis out the door. "Do you really love me?" I nodded. He smiled and kissed me hard. "I love you too." He said pulling away. "Stay the night tonight." I nodded. "Alright...I have a question." "Yeah babe?" "Do you want me to keep acting like her mum?" Louis nodded. "If you could." "I will. Definitely. I'll treat her like my own." He smiled and kissed me again. I grabbed his hand and pulled him back into her room. "So Alyssa what do you want to do for your birthday?" She shrugged. "Oh! I know! Can we go to the zoo?" "Sure sweetie. Who do you want to invite?" "You two." "No friends?" "You're my best friends." "Awh!" I said hugging her. "We can definitely do that." The doctor came back in. "Okay, you're ready to go!" He said smiling.

"Goodnight Alyssa." I said kissing her head. "Night Mummy!" "Night baby girl." "Night Daddy!" He kissed her on the head. He walked over to me by the doorway and guided me upstairs. "Babe, I'll get you a change of clothes." "Thanks Lou." He went over to his drawers and took out a pair of sweatpants and a T-shirt. He handed them to me. "Thank you!" I said kissing him quickly. I changed in the bathroom and put my hair in a bun. I walked out and laid beside him on the bed. He looked over at me and smiled. "What?" "I just love that you two are getting along so well." "Yeah, I love her to death. She's great." "Well, I'm pretty tired so I'm going to sleep." "Alright babe." I snuggled close to him, his arm around my waist and fell asleep.
