Chapter 2

As I was reading my book during nap time, I felt a poke on my shoulder. It was Alyssa. "Misses Smith?" "Yes Alyssa?" "Can we play?" "Are you not sleepy?" "No, I was sick last night so I went to bed early." "Are you okay now?" She shook her head. "What's wrong?" "I cough, and my head hurts." "Did your daddy not give you medicine?" "He didn't know what to do." "Oh okay. How about we go to the nurse then we can play?" She nodded and stood by the door. I grabbed her hand and guided her through the school's hallways to the nurse's office only to find that she went to lunch. "Okay, I'll take care of you then. I keep some medicine in my desk."

"Better?" She nodded. "Thanks." "You're welcome. Now, how about we go color?" She smiled and ran over to the arts and crafts area. She immediately started drawing and I did too. "What are you drawing?" "Me and my daddy." "Aww." "What are you drawing?" "A puppy." "Awh!! You're really good! Can I keep it?" "Of course Alyssa. Let me finish it first though." She nodded.

"Bye class!" "Bye!" Alyssa ran up to me. "Thanks for making me feel better." "You're welcome." "Come with me. I wanna tell my daddy how nice you were." "Alyssa, it's fin-" "C'mon!!" She pulled me out to where the parents wait to pick up their kids. I saw him and we made eye contact. He smiled, his eyes smiling as well as we walked over. "Daddy!! Guess what?" "What pumpkin?" "Miss Smith made me feel better!!" "Really? Thank you soo much. I didn't know what to do." "It's not a problem Mr. Tomlinson." "Please, call me Louis." I smiled and nodded. "So are you in a relationship Ms. Smith?" I shook my head no. "Well, how about I thank you by taking you out to dinner?" "It's fine really." "It'd be my pleasure." "Please Ms. Smith?? You could be like my mum!!" "Oh shush Alyssa!" He said blushing. "So??" "......alright." "Great. After work tomorrow?" I nodded. "Sounds perfect Louis." "Great see you then--" "Emily." He smiled. "Emily...I like it." I blushed like mad. Was this really happening?? I smiled as I walked back to my room. Tomorrow night is going to be great.
