CHAPTER 32

"Is Mr. Jung in his lecture?" I hear, my head nodding immediately as I turn Sunghoon's way. He sighs, shaking his head. "He certainly loves them... for some reason—Anyway—"

I chuckle, shaking my head. He halts, however, and stares at my neck. Oh—the necklace...

"Is that the one I gave you?" He asks, making me blink.

"Yes?" It came out more like a question, causing me to sigh and give it up. "No, actually—"

"What happened?" He asks, frowning. "Did you break it?"

"Not me, but um... Heeseung accidentally did," I explain, scratching my head. "I wanted to make him jealous, and he tried to pull it off—and it broke. Okay then, it sounds like my fault—which it probably is. Gah, Sunghoon, I'm so sorry—"

"You used my necklace as a way to emit jealousy?" Sunghoon narrows his eyes, frowning as he scoffs. "I get you guys are dating and all, but seriously?"

"I know, I sound so horrible, and I'm really sorry. If you want, I can pay you back—"

"Forget it, I've already had enough the moment you ended the call on me two days ago."

"Huh? Sunghoon, that was not my intention, and—"

"You were with Heeseung this weekend, right?" He questions instantly, looking at me. "You couldn't even tell me straight—I had to figure it out from Jungwon."

"Sunghoon, I'm sorry, okay? How many times must I apologize—"

"An apology can't fix a broken heart, Jae Iseul!" He yells, causing me to widen my eyes. "I know I was supposed to accept it, yes, but out of all the times you complained about hyung being rude, hating him, relying on me—I'd at least want you to give me some consideration."

"Sunghoon, I did. I could only think of you as a friend—"

"Out of all the years, I've known you—ever since high school—have you ever thought about reciprocating my feelings?" He asks, hurt. "Let me rephrase that, actually—If you never knew about my feelings, would you still have given me a chance?"

I stay silent, sighing. "Sunghoon, I have never thought of you more... than my best friend. I'm sorry."

"Right, right," He laughs, scowling. "Never anything more, okay—then tell me, that day at the winter break party, your question."

"What question?"

"What if someone you knew... did something bad against you and I knew?" He recites slowly, causing me to freeze up. "Is there something you know... that I don't? And you're choosing not to tell me... why?"

"It was just a question, there was no intent otherwise—"

"If that's true, why did you come out of Heeseung's room that night?"

"How the hell did you know I even went in?"

"Answer me, Jae Iseul," He demands, crossing his arms. "What did you do in his room? Hell, why did you even go in?! Did you do something bad?"

"What the hell, Sunghoon?!" I gasp, pointing at him. "You think I'd do something horrible with someone I just met?!"

"Well, from your expression, it sure seems like it," He hisses. "So tell me, Iseul, what the hell did you and Heeseung decide to say to each other? Did you love him then, is that why you couldn't make a decision—"

I push him to the ground, my fists clenching as I wish to slap him so hard. The worst I could do was push him—I couldn't bring myself to hurt him more.

"You want to know the truth, okay, I'll tell you, then," I say out of anger, hissing at him. He looks up at me, seeth in his eyes. "He told me all the things I shouldn't tell you. About how he used you for money before being your genuine friend. About how he and Jake crashed a senior party and almost got him in jail. About how he told Jungwon's parents about his career and now, he's like this. How Heeseung almost drove Sunoo to suicide because he wanted him to be part of the band—and about how he almost got Ni-Ki and Jay into a car accident. That's what I heard, what I went through, and what I carried that day. All of his guilt and regrets because he cares, but still made mistakes before it all."

I spilled it.

Oh my gosh.

I wasn't supposed to... no, no, no...

"He... did what?" He whispers lowly, I step back as he stands up, gulping as I inhale sharply. "Are you serious?"

"Sunghoon, please don't—"

"Lee Heeseung!" He yells, going the opposite way and running off.

What did I just do?!

"Lee Heeseung!"

"Sunghoon, please stop, it was all in the past—"

"I don't care what he did to me," He fumes, clenching his fists. "But I will never... forgive him for doing that to the rest of them."

Before I can continue, he slams through the next hall, seeing the 6 all talking together. I widen my eyes as Sunghoon charges for Heeseung, grabbing his collar and throwing them both to the ground.

"Hyung!" Jungwon tries to get in the middle before Sunghoon throws him out, the boy hitting his head on the wall. Everyone starts to crowd around them as I push through, checking if Jungwon is okay. Sunoo looks at me in panic as I gulp, placing my bag down as I hold Jungwon's head.

"Can you still see me?"

"Just go handle them," He hisses, getting up. "Before they kill each other."

Sunghoon towers over Heeseung who fights back, Heeseung getting hit by Sunghoon's right fist. Sunghoon blocks Heeseung's punch and knees him in his hip, a groan escaping his lips. Punches are thrown between them as Sunghoon continues to block— finally scoring a hit on Heeseung. He continues to punch him and hit him in the stomach as all we can hear are yells and groans, a girl recording the fight at the front. I shake my head as I try to pull Sunghoon off, but I'm shoved from the action as well. I land right onto Jay, the boy widening his eyes as he holds me still.

Heeseung notices this instantly—and before I know it, Heeseung is on top of Sunghoon, dominating him as he kicks, punches, and throws him around. He gives Sunghoon a right hook and they're both bleeding—it's time that I just put myself out to stop this.

Don't be afraid.

Jay grabs Sunghoon as I grab Heeseung, Ni-Ki helping me hold Heeseung back as they both try to charge at each other again.

"Why did you do it!" Sunghoon yells, screaming at the top of his lungs.

"Says the one who charged at me, what the hell!" Heeseung spits out, exhaling heavily. "If you were so sour about us dating, you should've taken your damn chance."

"That may be what part of that punch is about, but there's more to your half-assed story," Sunghoon insults, breathing heavily as well. "She told me everything, hyung."

Heeseung looks my way as I blink, gazing away. I hear him whisper something to me, something that I didn't expect at that moment.

"It's okay."

I turn back to him to see him staring at Sunghoon, eyebrows raised. "Okay, you heard it. Go ahead, Sunghoon, tell everyone!" Heeseung encourages. "Tell them. Beat me up, I don't care."

And Sunghoon doesn't hesitate. "You used me for money, hm? You blamed all the crap you did at that party on Jake hyung. You ratted Jungwon out and now, he's living with Iseul because he has no money. You bullied Sunoo to death and almost drove him to suicide because you wanted him to be the pianist in our band. You drunk drove your way into almost killing Jay hyung and Ni-Ki in an accident. Good for you, hyung. Good for you that you don't care."

"It was in the past—"

"I don't care!" He yells as I watch Jay stare at the ground, stiff. "You still did it. You still ruined our lives in so many ways—just so you could get attention." Jay's grip on Sunghoon loosens, and Sunghoon grabs his older's collar. Ni-Ki and I instantly back up, gulping as Heeseung doesn't say anything.

"Say something, say it!" Sunghoon screams, shaking him.

"It's true, okay?!" Heeseung cries out, pushing him away. "It's all true—I did it, and what? I knew my mistakes, I knew that I'd get this type of karma. It was inevitable, so do something about it."

The crowd starts to disperse as the teachers hear the commotion, everyone running off.

"You... told my mom and dad?" Jungwon whispers in pain, holding his head. He laughs in disbelief, looking at him. "...And to think I could trust you with my life, hyung. I thought that even I... meant something to you."

"You're the one who bullied me, hyung?" Sunoo grits his teeth, shaking his head as he holds his arms over his head. "Oh my god! Oh... my god."

Jake and Jay don't say anything—and instead, they look at him in disbelief. Ni-Ki is speechless as well, but the tears flow much easier than the rest.

"You seven, come with me!" I widen my eyes as the teacher points at the boys, a hand grabbing at my arm. I see Mr. Jung and one of my professors with crossed arms, not allowing me to go with them.

"But—" They both shake their heads as the administrators all bring them along—including Heeseung. I see his guilt-filled eyes before they turn the corner—

and they're all out of my sight.

I sigh frustratingly, waiting for my professor to come back. I bite my nails in anxiety, sitting next to Mr. Jung in the teacher's lounge. "You're lucky I vouched for you."

"I would've preferred to go with them!"

"Heeseung's the one you're dating, right?" He questions, causing me to nod. "Well, he's surely made many mistakes... I don't think it would've ended well—if you sat in there or not."

"Are you trying to diss my boyfriend or me?"

"Both of you," He hisses, crossing his arms. "That was dangerous for you to get involved, don't you know?!"

Before I can continue, I hear my professor outside. I immediately stand up, edging towards the doors.

"Yeah, they... um... decided to call things off."

"So, where are they going while they're suspended?"

"Some are going back home—one of the parents had called after we sent out emails about their disbandment. They might unenroll their student from our university."

"Yang Jungwon's parents have never been the flexible type..." My breath hitches. "But disbandment, really? Did you decide that... or did they?"

"They... wanted to," My eyes enlarge as I slam the door open—I couldn't take it anymore. My professor and the administrative assistant flinch, both turning my way.

"What do you mean... they disbanded?"
