Julian Thomas had a very unique way of sliding into my DMs. I've never gotten a message like that in my life nor have I ever heard someone get a message like the one I received. It was very strange yet creative and a little disturbing. I mean "drowns in your pussy" you don't necessarily say that to a stranger that is just plain weird.

When I got to my third period- English 4 honors- I sat in my usual seat in the back of the class and waited for the teacher to announce what we will be going over today. Sadly Nina didn't have the same third period as me but I still had some other friends in here that I can talk to and work with. So I wasn't complaining. After the final bell rung, Mrs. Gilmore told everyone to settle down and put their phones away.

"Good morning class I hope you all had a great weekend and I'm certain you all are looking forward the upcoming week for spring break," She said smiling widely and everyone let out an "oh yeah" or "I'm so excited to party." I stayed quiet because I couldn't relate to the whole it's spring break lets get wild vibes everyone was giving off. Spring break to me was just another week staying inside or hanging out with Nina something I usually do every break if we were at my house, but it was a different story if we were at Nina's house. Her parents were more laid back parents and always took us to theme parks or the mall or even made their home a joy to be in if it wasn't an indoor or outdoor obstacle course it was a paintball fight or a water balloon fight, it was always something fun.

My parents were more accustomed to the whole living an American life where you only work to get money to pay your bills and take a vacation here and there and save. And even though my parents had thousands saved up throughout the years and we could've broken the usual routine by doing things out of our comfort zone they chose not to.

For some reason, I knew Mrs. Gilmore had something up her sleeves

Literally, she had something up her sleeve. She reached up her sleeve and pulled out a small folded piece of paper and unfolded it. "And what do we have here class?" She asked smiling at the class. "Looks like you guys will be quite busy over spring break because you have a project to complete," The whole class groaned at that and that's when people started talking and throwing out the "it's a break, we are not supposed to do anything" or the "we have done enough work let us have a break".

"Now quiet down class, you guys do not even know the assignment so how can you start complaining," everyone started calming down and gave her a chance to explain.

"Now the assignment is simple, you will be paired with someone either in this class or in one of my other class periods and you will be given a list of places and things to do over spring break. You have to do at least five of the twenty-five, you and your partner get to choose. If you do more than five you will receive extra credit. All you have to take pictures together and write about each and every place or thing you two did because that's the only way that I will know you guys actually were together completing this project. I already chose your partners because I want you guys to be paired up with someone that you may not know well or may not know at all. And if you happen to get someone you know well good for you, you got lucky. You can either put the pictures on a PowerPoint and make a slideshow, on a poster board, or any other creative way you and your partner think of. This project is meant to be fun, you should go out and try new things you have never done. The due date for this project is the first day back from spring break, so May 21st. The project will then be presented in class. And for those who already have trips planned out for the upcoming week and are going out of town, I suggest you start early because I will not be extending the due date. If you do not know your partner I will give you their email and phone number so you two can message each other and get started."

I hope I have a good partner and hopefully, I was one of the lucky people who got a partner they already knew. "Ok, so I will be calling out your names and telling you guys your partners," Mrs. Gilmore soon started calling out names and I tuned out until I heard my name. "Miss Rivera you are paired up with Mr. Alexander Allen from my 5th period."

"Zoe you are so lucky. You were paired up with one of the hottest guys in this school. How do you feel? Are you nervous?" Ana asked with a wide grin turning her head towards me. Ana was part of the "cool' crowd but she didn't mind talking to those outside that crowd.

"I feel good I guess, he is just like any other boy in this school," I told her trying to keep calm.

That is one big fat lie that I told her

"Zoe he is basically like a God that so many people look up to and well no offense but you are just a regular girl," she said. One thing about Ana she said everything how it is, she did not hold back. It was a blessing and a curse that she always spoke her mind.

"Well I might be a regular girl and he can be part of the "cool" crowd but he's just another person like me. At the end of the day, we are both teenagers trying to graduate high school and get somewhere in life," I told her, I knew I wasn't popular it was no secret but it hurt that I was called a regular girl.

"Well, I hope you guys have fun, and who knows maybe you guys will become close friends," Ana said giving me a small smile and a shrug before turning back in her chair and chatting with her friends around her. For the rest of the period, Mrs. Gilmore continued talking about the project and how we should meet up with our partners before the week was over just to exchange numbers and such. And before I knew it, it was time to go to lunch.

As I was walking to the cafeteria I felt my phone buzz.

Julian- well I see you got jokes

Me- well I see you attempted to slide in my DMs didn't work out though. But you get an A for effort

Julian- Oh I'm hurt, did I lose my chances of getting with you?

Me- never knew you had a chance of getting with me in the first place Julian

Julian- ok now I'm actually really hurt. I think you hurt my ego. I hear you're the smartest girl in school. Care to give me a crash course in how to ace life?

Me-  only if you're ready to work for it. I don't hand out answers for free

Julian- fair enough. How about I trade you? You teach me life hacks, and I'll show you how to have some fun.

Me- you're assuming I don't already know how to have fun

Julian- am I wrong?

I wanted to say he wasn't wrong, but I wasn't going to give him the satisfaction of being right instead I replied 

Me- I'll help you out because it's always nice to help those in need

 Julian- perfect can't wait! How has your day been so far?

Me- well besides my interesting strange start to my morning with your DM, I found out I was paired to work on a project with some extremely hot guy, who is popular in my school and I'm trying to play it off cool but I'm actually kind of freaking out because I'm just an "average" girl like I was told but besides that I'm chillin'

Julian- well I am more than certain that you are not an average girl. You look far from average, and I bet he's just an average guy too. People just love to put labels on people, don't be nervous. And don't listen to anyone who tells you that you are average

Me- thank you, Julian, it means a lot. Well, I have to go now I'm going to eat lunch and maybe I'll even try talking to him and get his number but who knows I'll probably embarrass myself before anything happens because that's just my luck

Julian- ok I'll leave you to it, enjoy your lunch, and remember he's just an average guy too (well on the inside, considering the fact you said he was "extremely hot" his outside looks may not be average at all) ;)

I read the last message and let out a quiet laugh and continued walking to the lunch line to get my lunch. Just when I was about to sit down in my seat I heard my name being called, I turned my head in the direction it came from to see Alexander himself walking towards me.

"Hey, Zoe how are you?" Alex asked with a smile showing off his pearly white teeth. "I'm good and yourself?" I answered back taking a seat and quickly whipping my palms on my dress. He gestured towards the seat indicating if he could sit down and I nodded my head.

Can I sit on your lap? I asked mentally

Let me stop before I say this shit out loud and completely embarrass myself

"So as you may know Mrs. Gilmore paired us up to be partners and I don't have your number, so I was wondering if I could get it and I can call you later, or maybe if you want we can meet up one of these days and we can choose what we want to go." He said smiling.

Aw he's so cute

"Yeah of course. Do you have your phone?" I asked him.

"For what?" He questioned looking genuinely confused.

"To add my number," I answered back while extending my hand waiting for his phone.

"Oh right of course, here" he unlocked his phone and went to his phone book where I added my number.

"Here," I told him giving him his phone back. Right, when I gave him his phone back Nina sat down in front of us and looked at Alex and me. Her eyes kept shifting from Alex to mine then back to Alex.

She was probably wondering why one of the most popular guys in the school was talking to me.

"Uh hey, Alexander" She finally said breaking the silence among us, and nodded her head at him. "Hey, Nina how are you doing?" He asked offering her a smile.

"I'm doing good. How about you?" She asked. "Just talking to your dear friend Zoe here, I'll leave you guys to it, enjoy your lunch." He said getting up and walking back to his table but not before saying goodbye to us.

"Enjoy your lunch."

"So what was that?" Nina asked when Alex was seated at his table.

"What was what?" I asked bringing a spoonful of the mixed fruits to my mouth.

"You know what missy, you were just talking to  Alexander mother fucking Allen. What did he say? Did he ask you out? Did he finally realize you are a true beauty with brains, a girl that will throw it back to him with no hesitation, a girl that will be his baby momma and give birth to his 4 children?" Nina rushed out in one breath and each time she spoke she got closer to me.

I threw my head back releasing a loud laugh that made some heads turn to me. "What no are you insane?" I told her shaking my head.

"Well, a little bit." She replied. "He was just getting my number-" I started.

"Your number! No fucking way! Yes, this is great! Am I going to be the Godmother for all 4 of your kids?" She asked with wide eyes and a big grin as her body shook from excitement. I scratched my head, this is really my best friend, was there no one else in my damn math class I liked.

"Nina no, he asked my number for our project over spring break."

"What ew for a project only? What the hell! Oh, that project over spring break." She exclaimed and paused for a second before continuing.

"Wait a minute you guys are partners that is absolutely amazing. My girl Mrs. Gilmore pulled through for the first time. She sees you two together. She's hooking a sister up, she's going to help you get some dick, Zoe. If I were in her shoes as well I would be playing Cupid too. Zoe, it's meant to be," She said happily nodding her head and taking a bite of her Subway sandwich.

"That is most likely the last reason why she paired us together, but you stick with that. Who did you get paired up with anyway?" I asked finishing my fruit cup.

"I was paired up with Liam, I was a little disappointed I wasn't paired up with my baby daddy Noah but it's all good. He got paired up with Gabriel. I'm happy it wasn't Michelle because that would've been tragic," she said shaking her head and continued eating her sandwich.
