Almost after 40 longest minutes of everyone’s life they saw the doctor coming out.

Msd was the only man there who remained calm and was well aware of his surrounding.

Msd: Dr. How is Ditya is everything fine now?

Dr: she is fine now. Its kind of magic that has happened and she is out of coma. To be honest I have not seen something like this happen in my medical career. She is still very weak and need rest and no stress.

Msd: well doctor I guess its love that concurs all at the end of the day.

He said and looked at Virat and gave him a warm smile. Virat wiped his tears and gave Msd a hug. 

Dr: you can go and meet her make sure she doesn’t talks a lot.

Msd: thanks doctor.

And with that doctor left leaving all the happy faces behind. They all went in one by one to see her. All she manage to do was give them a smile. Non of them had the courage to raise the topic of her miscarriage.

Back of the mind she thanked god for giving her such and loving friends and family they have all stood by her when she needed them the most. There was a time when she even craved for the attention and love from one person and Virat has given her a whole world of such loving people.

After everyone was done meeting her she was waiting for just one person. That one person who needed her the most that one person she needs the most.

Msd and sakshi were the last people who have came to meet her.

Msd: we are so glad that you are ok now. Just take rest and don’t dare to stress yourself.

Ditya some how managed to speak.

D: Bhai Virat??

Msd: I will send him in.

As he came out he saw Virat standing right outside the door but reluctant to go inside. Virat saw MSD coming out and knew he will ask him to go and meet Ditya and he didn’t had the courage to do that so he tried to divert his attention.

V: Bhai everyone must be tired its better you should send everyone home.

Msd: I guess you are right. But before that you need to listen to me.

Just then Yuvi also joined the conversation.

Msd: Virat I know you are very affected with what has happened, you are shocked to the core but at the same time she needs you. You can’t keep running away from her.

Yuvi: he is right Virat. Just be with her that’s the most important thing to do right now.

V: I understand and I promise I will be with her and take care of her more than my life.

Msd: we trust you with that.

All of them understood the need of the hour and decided to leave them both alone. Also the presence of to many famous people in the hospital was causing a hassle. 

After everyone left Virat walked into the room. He walked upto her and sat beside her as soon as there eyes met he felt his soul getting pierced by her gaze.

Ditya can see the guilt and regret wrriten all over his face which she was hating the most at this moment. She knew it was not his fault but she also knew the kind of person he is, he will consider him to be the culprit. She just wanted him to get that burden of him. She wanted to talk to him about the same but this was definitely not the correct time for that.

He held her hand lightly and kept his head near the union of there hands.

V: I am sorry Diti. I failed. I failed as a husband. I failed as father. I was not able to protect you and our child. Please for give me if you can. I am even a culprit of my own baby who was not even born. How would I ask for forgiveness from him Diti?

With that he broke down. He cried his heart out and Ditya’s soul cracked to see him in this state. The man whom the world look up to as an unbeatable player the most aggressive athlete the person who inspirer’s a whole generation is sitting in front of him broken in millions of pieces.

She some how found strength and freed her hand from him and placed it carefully on his head and creased his hair lightly.

D: it was not your mistake Virat. It was meant to happen. And please don’t hold yourself accountable for all this Virat.

She kept creasing his hairs gently until. The mental and physical  tiredness took over both of them.

This was test of time for them and they both knew they have to stand by each other and fight it together.

7 days went in a blink of eye. Virat was next to Ditya throughout the time. He never left her side. He made her eat food gave medicines helped her get up from the hospital bed read books to her, everything. The only time he went home was once in a day to take a bath and change into fresh set of cloths. That to leaving behind one of the family or friends with Ditya. He never stayed home for more then 15 min. Every corner of home reminded him of her. He can’t imagine home without her. His home was her. His home was where his soul was and his soul belonged to Ditya.

After 7 days..

Dr saaj: Its so nice to see the recovery you have made Ditya. When you have a husband like him nothing is impossible.

D: thank you doctor.

Dr. Saaj: Ditya you are one very lucky woman I must say. Not everyone gets a husband like him. And you Mr. Kohli hats off to you.

Ditya gave a proud smile to Virat. He kinda blushed and lowered his head and scratched the back of his neck.

V: aahmm thank you doctor. When can I take her home?

Dr saaj: she is absolutely fit to go home now Mr Kohli and with you around I am assured that you will take very good care of her.

V: sure doctor I will.

Dr. Saaj: just few precautions. No stress. Proper bed rest for another 15 to 20 days. And no work for you Mrs. Kohli. You should be taking all your meals and medicines properly.

Ditya frowned a little hearing all the instructions given by the doctor. But Virat gave a re assuring nod to the doctor.

By the time he came back after doing the formalities for the discharge he found all the family and friends gathered already to take Ditya back home.  She has already changed into some comfy relax pants and t shirt and was chatting with all of them with a faint smile on her face. He can see that she is making really sincere  efforts to make peace with what has just happened with her.

Msd: Are lo Virat bhi aagaya.

Yuvi: haan ji chalo ab hum apni bhabhi ko ghar le chale.

Nurse: sir wait let me bring the wheel chair for her she is not advised to walk.

V: we don’t need that.

Said Virat and moved towards Ditya and picked her up carefully in strong arms. 

Ditya was feeling this closeness with him after a very long time. There was something between them that has changed since the accident. There was a coldness and kind of discomfort that has developed between them. They both knew they have to talk about this but non of them took the initiative. They knew they have to break this ice soon.
Once they reach home they found Kaki at the door with a plate of Aarti. According to her this will keep all the bad omens away from her and will bless her with good health.
As she entered the house all the elders thought of giving the kids some time alone and left. Virat again picked her up and made her sit comfortably on the couch in the drawing room with everyone else. Her huge bandage is now replaced by a small one on the left side of her forehead. She looked so much more relaxed with all of them around and being at home.

Sak: You know what Diti we all have been in love in our life but not like you guys.

Hazel: she is right not every one gets so lucky to have a bond like you guys.

Msd: Love is just a word and you guys gave it a meaning.

Both Ditya and Virat were happy by getting such compliments by there friends and that deepened there trust that together they can fight anything and everything in life no matter what.  

They all had there dinner together and Virat being the most doting husband in the world fed Ditya. Soon there friends left so that Ditya can now take rest.

As Virat went into the kitchen to keep his  plate in sink Ditya tried to get up and move towards the stairs to reach there bedroom.

V: you remember I told you on the day you walked into this house as my better half that I will be glad to carry you all my life. So what made you think I will not carry you to the room today.

With that he picked her up and carried her effortlessly. As if this was the easiest thing in the world. She wrapped her arms around her neck and nuzzled near his collar bone to take his enchanting smell in her system after so long. They both had the same longing for each others love and presence around them in their eyes.

She decided to have a word with him today itself. She will talk to him and will break the ice. She will not let him suffer with guilt anymore.

Virat placed her carefully on the bed and adjusted the comforter over her. Than he passed her a glass of water and medicine.

D: Virat I will have it later na..

V: Diti not for medicine. I am not gona buy any of your excesses.

D: ok.

She reluctantly took the medicines from him and popped them in. He got up and reached towards the side lamp to switch it off. Ditya held his hand mid way.

D: Veer can you please sit here and we can talk for a while?

V: No Diti not today you need rest right now.

D: Veer please!!!

She said with such a cute face and puppy eyes that he couldn’t say no to her.

V:aacha baba. Bolo.

He said finally giving up. She is the only person alive on this planet who can make the super competitive Virat Kohli give up so easily. 

Ditya took his hand in her. He was little taken back and wondering what she is up to.

D: Virat, we both know that we have still not made peace with what had happened but Virat what has happened has happened that was something beyond anyone’s control. And you holding yourself guilty for this is just baseless. Virat the baby which we lost was ours not mine not yours. I am equally in as much pain as you are but we can’t keep punishing our self. If that would have been in our hands we wouldn’t have let anything harm our baby. But we were not even aware at the first place. And if anyone has to take the blame for losing the baby it has to be me. I was so careless that I didn’t even knew I was pregnant. Virat we have to get a closure to this. We have to just let it go. We have to close this chapter and focus on better things waiting in future for us. No situation no problem can be so big that we both can’t handle together. And trust me who so ever did that will definitely get punished.

The only thing which was going in Virat’s mind was she did that again. She again made everything so simple and sorted. She was the one who suffered all this and now she can’t see him suffer the pain of guilt and for him she is even ready to give this a closure. How can a person be so sorted and selfless.

She said and placed her head on his shoulder and drops of tears made there way out of her eyes. Virat immediately cupped her face and wiped of her tears with his thumbs.

V: Diti jaan please don’t cry. Making you cry was the last thing I want to do. And I am sorry for behaving like a jerk  all this while. You absolutely make sense. I think we should get this chapter of our life closed.

He quickly placed a kiss on her forehead. And tried to get up from the bed.

D: Where are you going?

V: Just a min.

He quickly got the little vermilion box from the dresser took a pinch of it and placed it in the partition of her hairs.

She closed her eyes in anticipation. And a feeling of warmth filled her. They were back. They have successfully fought the odds.  

V: you know what Mrs. Kohli you were looking a little incomplete without it. 

She gave him a smile, he turned off the lights slided beside her in the bed held her close to himself as if he was protecting her from the world. And with in few min. She drifted of to a very peaceful sleep.

V: I am sorry Ditya but there is something I am still hiding from you. But I promise I will let you know as soon as the correct time comes. Right now I can’t afford to give you any kind of stress. But I promise I will not let anything hurt you ever again.
He placed a kiss on sleeping ditya’s forehead and drifted of to sleep holding his world in his arms.
