Part 47

After ten days , 

Nandu is sitting in front of the dressing table getting ready for naming and craddle ceremony of kummud ki baby, but her mind is fully occupied by what manik  told her yesterday evening.

Flash back ....

Manik is sitting in the balcony , nandu comes there and sits beside him with coffee ;

Nandu : major , what's wrong ??? You know right , you can share with me .

Manik : nothing it's been already more than 20 days , I need to go back .

Nandu : r u sure , there is nothing more than this , it's been many days I am watching u so dull, I thought of giving you some time , but no you are not telling me .....

Manik : there is something , but I can't  say it to you .

Nandu : you can share anything with me , I will never judge you .

Manik : I know but I'm scared to ask u this .

Nandu : you can ask me anything ???

Manik : actually , I am promoted to the head of training academy , I don't have to work on borders for an year , bcoz of my injury my lieutenant general who is a well wisher of mine transferred me to academy .

Nandu : that's a good news you got promoted and in academy the risk is also less , r u not happy ???

Manik : I'm happy and at the same time I want to ask u something , I don't know how will u react.

Nandu : ask me major .

Manik : will you come with me ???

Nandu : what ??

Manik : this one year I can live in quarters or my own home , it would be only training the cadets , I will go in the morning and come back by evening , I just thought of asking you to come with me , not bcoz I have general duty , just bcoz I want to know you better , I want our relationship to become better , I want to spend more time with u , I don't know after this year I may get a chance or not to spend time with you , so thought of asking u , I know it's very hard for u to leave your job and both the families but just thought to be with you atleast for some days , but I know u don't want to come , that's what is bothering me , I didn't knew how to ask u or tell u  , but it's okay , u don't have to come , I will only try to come home taking more holidays ....

Nandu just sat there silently not knowing what to say .

Manik : come on doctor , stop thinking . Thats y I thought not to say you ....

Nandu : major , vo...

Manik : relax , I understand .

Nandu just hugged him tight but didn't say anything, manik hugged her back.....

Present ...

Manik sees nandu sitting in front of the mirror lost in her thoughts .

Manik : oye doctor sunna

On listening this she comes out of her thoughts , and saw manik standing behind her .

Nandu : five minutes , than let's leave .

Manik : stop thinking too much , I already booked my ticket so plz don't think too much .

Nandu : okay .

Both of them moved  out of their room to see the whole family waiting for them, they all left  to Murthy mansion.

Shikar recieved all of them , nandu avni left to  kummud room to see her getting ready with the help of mukti and  Aliya, kusum sister of kummud is playing with the baby boy .

Nandu : main agayi ,she jumped like a kid and sat beside the baby boy .

Mukti : I thought you will come late .

Nandu : oye chudail , y will I be late ??she asks taking the baby boy and kissing him....

Mukti : I thought bhai is here and you both will be busy romancing , so you will be late you know .....

Nandu : you chudaillll, she showed her finger and ready to fight with mukti .

Mukti and rest all laughed looking at nandu blushed face .

Kusum : it's good you have time to romance, bcoz he stays here less time right .

Nandu : it's nothing like that bhabi .

Kusum : you know nandu , varun ki family is very big and bcoz of work we never got time with each other , there are always fights , he used to always compromise with me and my work , but last year he has to go to Delhi for six months , we spent most of the happy times there, later we got back to family , but those six months are best , so I just wanted to say spend more time with him when he is home , bcoz in the starting days of marriage you both need to know each other better .

Nandu : but didn't u miss family , in those six months .

Kusum : in which era do u live , we can do video calls , calls and if wanted catch a flight to meet them . Monthly once we used to come home to meet the whole family .

Aliya:  true, even ours is sudden marriage,  first it's so awkward to talk to each other but after knowing each other when we went to dance shows of dhruv,  he took me along with him  for a month like a tour , we returned back with much better relationship , now eveything is fine .

Nandu is in deep thinking about how manik is compromising himself about her , she didn't knew what to do , everything is getting messed up , rest all didn't see nandu but are sharing their experiences.

After sometime , kummud is taken down to hall , nandu held the baby boy .

Pandit ji started doing the puja , nandu sat beside manik after placing the baby boy in kummud lap , he noticed her face being dull so held her hand , she turned to see him smiling at her .

Pandit : what is the name of the boy ??

Chandra : smile will name him, bolo na ??

Nandu : what ??? Noooo, ask appa to do it.

Shikar : come on jaan, you are his bua you have all rights to name him.

Kummud : come on bestie .

Kusum : bolo na nandu .

Nandu : ok fine , saying she thought for sometime and all are looking at her , manik is admiring her cute faces , finally she said..... kushal  means the skillfull .

Everyone clapped listening to the name , after all the rituals nandu placed him in craddle according to south indian rituals.

Everyone gifted the new born baby loads of gifts.

Nandu : major , meet them kusum and varun, kummud bhabi ki sister and her husband ,due to some works they are unable to attend our wedding .....

Kusum vyas , sister of kummud . Married to varun vyas . They live in Gujarat . Varun owns a textile industry .

Kusum : finally got to meet u.

Varun : hai major .

Manik : you can call me manik .

Varun : ok,  Manik .

They all are busy talking to each other , nandu sat beside shikar side hugging him.

Shikar : what's wrong , with my baby ??

Nandu : appa I'm confused , I want to talk to u personally .

Shikar : chalo lets go .

Nandu : not now let everyone go .

Shikar nodes in yes, but nandu is watching manik who is laughing loudly on cabir ki jokes  Bcoz all the youngsters are sitting together and having fun.

Finally in the evening , everyone left to their homes including kusum varun and kummud ki mom dad.

Murthy and Malhotra family sat to have dinner , nandu is just playing with food .

Manik : I have something to say .

Naziya : kya hua beta?

Manik : nothing serious ammi , it's just I have to go back to work .

Neo : when ??

Manik : after five days I got my ticket booked , and yeah relax mom this time I'm promoted to academy for training new cadets , not on the border so you can call me anytime , if wanted I will come and visit u when u want .

Neo : thank you Jesus .

Shikar : how long  are  you transferred ???

Manik : for one year papa .

Shikar : ok.

The whole family is talking about this and having dinner , finally Malhotra family is ready to go home .

All are moving out talking to each other , manan are walking in the last .

Nandu : major , she calls him .

Manik : what happened ??

Nandu : can I stay here tonight ??

Manik : okay , saying he kissed her forehead. Call me when u want to come back , I will pick u up .

Nandu nodes in yes, manik unwillingly left her and sat in car .

Shikar : nandu , are u not going ??

Manik : she will stay here tonight papa , I will come and pick her tommorow .

He says with a smile by looking from his car  window , shikar side hugged nandu in happiness.

Malhotra family left to their home, manik left to his room but felt empty on not finding nandu there , he changed his dress and  sat on the swing watching stars , and finally fell asleep on the swing itself .

In Murthy mansion ,

Nandu left to her room and got fresh up sat on the bed, shikar walked in after sometime with two mugs of hot chocolate.

Nandu : appa , I'm  confused , she said putting her head on his lap.

Shikar : what is making u confused ??

Nandu explained what manik told her and also what kusum and aliya shared with her .

Shikar : what do you want to do ???

Nandu : I don't know .

Shikar : so you are running away from him.

Nandu : no appa .

Shikar : than y r u here , not with him , he will leave after 5 days I think u should spend more time with him..

Nandu : I want to spend time with u .

Shikar : what about your major ?,  take a wise desicion .

Shikar patted nandu to sleep and left to his room. Nandu didn't go to Malhotra house for two days , manik came to take her on the third day .

Nandu came to malhotra house after two days , manik didn't even ask her y she didn't come home early.

Nandu helped manik in packing his luggage.

Finally it's the day of manik to leave ,neo dadi cried hugging him , swecha is very angry on him for leaving again .

Manik ; sorry freedom , I promise to come early .

Swecha : no you won't come early.

Manik : I promise this time , I will come for u .

Swecha : you won't even call me after going there .

Manik : you can call me any time now , I will lift the call for u .

Swecha : really ??

Manik : really , saying he kissed her forehead and gave her a big chocolate Box ,making her smile .

He hugged everyone and instructed cabir to take care of everyone in his absence.

Finally he saw nandu who is standing in the corner silently, he just moved to her and hugged her but didn't say anything and is ready to move , but nandu held his hand .

Nandu: I also want to come to railway station.

Manik nodded in yes, bcoz even he wanted to take her with him to railway station.

Manan sat in one car ,manik is driving and nandu is sitting very silent , rest all are following in different cars, even shikar naziya and chandra are coming to send off manik.

Manik : take care of yourself , don't cry so much , and yeah don't do late night duty more , call papa or cabir to pick u home .

Nandu nodes in yes , manik kissed her forehead .

Finally everyone reached the railway station, Jenny came there with a bag to give to harshad and Arya .

Manik : take care of maa and dad .

Jenny : don't worry, I will take care of them , u three be careful . She says thinking of Arya harshad and manik.

Manik met mukti, who cried hugging him , finally he controlled her saying sweet things to her, he saw swecha talking to nandu sitting on a bench looked like both  are so busy , he hugged them together .

They heard the announcement of train , manik hugged  crying neo and dadi and got in the train, his eyes searched for nandu to see her once ,but she is no where to be seen.

He thought she is crying , bcoz swecha shikar are  also missing from there , he just bids bye to everyone .
