Taehyung's POV

Taehyung knows. He knows he messed up right from the beginning when he stalked agitatedly through the doors of his home. He knows that if he just stopped to think rationally he wouldn't be stuck in this position.

Your foot rests wedged between his door and the wall before you force your way inside. "You need to stop avoiding me" you remark softly, scared for a negative reaction because at the end of the day he's your brother, he's grown up around you, and he's no different. Maybe it is your fault.

"I'm not avoiding you" he grunts not meeting your eyes as he does so "oh really?" you scoff, "so what's all this about really then?" you question whilst folding your arms. The other sighs whilst meeting your eyes.

He wants to tell you, he wants to tell you so badly what this is about, how he found your diary shoved in the compartment underneath your floorboard but he just can't, you look so happy, and if him finding out hurts you in any way he doesn't want it.

He's overwhelmed, these new feelings for Jimin, the secret he's been keeping from his father, from you it's all too much and he's scared that after you find out the two of you will never be the same.

So instead of telling you that he's scared to talk to you he's been avoiding you up until now, up until you've cornered him and he's willing to make up things just to avoid the truth.

Y/n's POV

"Exams" he breathes as you grow less tense, shuffling towards him you make your way and sit on the bed patting the seat next to you "I'm just really stressed, what if I fail the real ones" he complains.

"You won't" you simply state as he looks up and meets your confident stare "you've got me, you've got Mr Jeon now too, you even have Jimin" you inform as he tenses at your last words.

"What?" you question "is there something else going on between the two of you?", that accusation sends him flying in a fit of denial as he waves his hands "n-nothing's going on" he stutters.

You're a bit confused at his defensive form hoping the two haven't started a new argument which will ultimately result with you in the middle.

"There's nothing you have to worry about, we can all tutor you, even dad will help if you ask" you assure as he nods. Taehyung sends you a warm smile, it doesn't completely reach his eyes but it's enough to convince you for now.

"Thank you" he breathes whilst pulling you in for a hug, the two of you remain in that position for a long, both of you seeking each other's comfort, pulling away when someone knocks on the door.

Silent. The atmosphere in the room remains completely silent, not even a pin dropping could release the two males of the suffocating, deafening quiet as they both continue to stare at random inanimate objects.

Jimin, seated at the far end of the room looks up cautiously, peeking at the younger male who remains limp as he feels the other's eyes on him "Rei, that's her name", that comment earns Taehyung's attention as his ears perk up.

"She's just a friend we-" Jimin begins to say before the dark haired male cuts him off "Y/n's friend?" He questions, "the one from the asylum", his face paints with curiosity as Jimin's eyebrows fuse in confusion.

"A-asylum?" He stutters as the other nods "the point is" Jimin continues whilst shaking his head "that we're just friends, I called her to ask about y/n, and that's what we should be focusing on" he concludes as Taehyung stands up.

"If that's all you came to say, then I'm sure you're done. You started this hyung, and I find it only fitting that you've ended it too" The younger states harshly with his back faced towards the other.

He didn't mean it, he doesn't mean any of it because now that he knows he has feelings for Jimin he just can't seem to get rid of them.

"Taehyung" Jimin growls as the other turns at his name "what?" He barks "are you going to say this isn't about us again?, or are you telling me what I've said is right, and this is over."

The younger's eyes waver and he feels every muscle in his body turn limp and fragile "I don't think I can take that so don't you dare do that to me" he admits with a shaky voice.

Jimin's eyes soften at the statement and if it was any other situation he'd scoff at the younger for changing his feelings so quickly, but unlike every other day he'd spent mocking the other, today is different.

Today Jimin feels like he's earned the right to be free of his guilty conscience as he takes small steps towards Taehyung before grabbing the younger's face in his palms "I won't" he sighs before kissing him delicately.

The two melt into the kiss releasing all their worries as their foreheads lean against each other when they part "I need you to put her diary back" Jimin states as Taehyung nods.

"We don't know what'll happen if y/n finds out that we know about her."

And that's when the author realised that this book was starting to sound a lot like a vmin one and she should probably get back to writing about you and Jungkook :)
