Ruby's POV
Today is finally the big day.
Wing Stop is having a sell on their original hot chicken tenders. And also, I'm getting married to the love of my life, Noah.
I smiled at myself in the mirror as the makeup artist added the bold red lipstick on my lips. My 40-inch wig was already glued and secured on my head, ready to be revealed to my guest.
A great hairstylist by the name of Silas Wesley made my wig for me. I'm quite impressed by his work.
"The wedding starts in An hour guys let's hurry up"
My mom screamed at no one in particular. Grandma was sitting back on the couch, eating her barbecue ribs as everyone panicked. She already told us that she's not messing up her makeup for anyone.
"Girl, lemme get some ribs"
Noah's grandma said with a smile on her face. My grandma happily gave her half of her food. Those two have been getting along quite well. They both have been giving people the side-eye and talking shit about people all day.
That's exactly how Diamond and I are going to be when we're older.
A few hours later my hair, makeup, and nails were done. It was finally the time I've been waiting for since I arrived at the venue this morning. It's time to put on my dress.
Sam's mom made my wedding dress for me. She reminded me that I promised her she was going to make my wedding dress for me in high school.
I thought she was just playing with me but, I guess she wasn't. She even made Diamond's wedding dress when she got married to Sam. I missed the wedding but both Sam and Noah had albums with their pictures in it.
"Everyone be quiet, Ruby is about to come out with my dress. If someone even makes a sound I'm kicking them out"
I heard Sam's mom scream. The room became so quiet that you could hear a pin drop. She was serious when it came to her passion. If anyone messed with her clothes they'll never see the light of day and Sam will make sure of it.
I looked at myself in the mirror before I stepped out. The heavy dress had layers and layers of lace adorning it. Real crystal beads littered all over the body of the dress, shining every time I took a step. I look absolutely beautiful.
"Come out here bitch, I'm not getting any younger here"
I recognized that voice as my grandma's. That old lady is so impatient. She's been alive for ninety-nine years and you think she'll have all the time in the world but, no. Now I see where dad gets his attitude from.
I stayed in the changing room a few minutes longer just so I can be petty. The whole time I was being petty I was just twerking in the mirror to make sure that my dress was suitable for my twerk sessions.
The answer is no, it's not twerkable.
I stepped out of the changing room with a smile on my face. The bickering that was happening on the other side of the door suddenly stopped. Various gasps were heard coming from around the room.
"You look absolutely beautiful baby"
My mom said as tears ran down her face. I couldn't help but cry also. Marrying the man of my dreams with my family by my side has always been a dream of mine.
A few years ago if someone would've told me that I would be marrying a billionaire along with being a millionaire myself I would've farted in their face. It seemed impossible for someone like me to marry someone like Noah.
"My little sister is growing up"
I heard Diamond say as she attacked me in a hug. Even though I didn't make it to her wedding she made sure to come to mine. She has played a big role in planning our wedding alongside my mom.
After everyone got over their initial shock they all came to take pictures with me. My grandma and Noah's grandma decided they wanted to be extra and have a whole photoshoot. Everyone was growing impatient as they made the photographer take picture after picture.
"Ok, this is the last one. Everyone join in and do something silly"
I thought my grandma was going to do a silly face but, she dropped down to a split. A huge smile was on her face as everyone stared at her in shock. After the photo was taken she came back up in pain. Her back did a weird crack sound as she stood up straight.
"That's what you get for trying to be young" my mom said as she laughed.
"You're just mad that I still got it at the age ninety-nine and you lost it already at the age fifty-five"
My grandma said as she stuck the middle finger at her. My dad's side of the family always finds a way to surprise me. Who would've thought that the old lady who could barely take a shower knows how to do the split?
I'm in my twenties and I have trouble getting out of bed in the morning.
"Are you guys ready to go? The groom and groomsmen are waiting at the alter"
My dad said from the other side of the door. I took a deep breath and walked to the door. Since he's walking me down the aisle I'm a little nervous for him to see me. He's the type to tell me to add a jacket to my dress since my boobs and shoulders are showing.
With a smile on my face, I opened the door. My dad's eyes widened as his eyes raked my dress. He was trying to hold back his tears but, the tears still came rolling down his face. I pulled him in for a hug as he sobbed on my shoulder.
"You look breathtaking sweetheart"
I let out a whispered thank you and squeezed him tighter. When we finally let go of each other I could tell my makeup was ruined. After my makeup artist finished touching up my makeup my everyone started getting in position.
Flowers were everywhere. Diamond made sure to put rose petals leading to the alter. There were flowers in the shape of an upside-down 'U' also leading to the alter. The sun shined down on Silas as if it was a spotlight.
After my maid of honor, Diamond, and bridesmaids walked out it was my turn. I could see Noah from where I was standing. Once the wedding music came on he closed his eyes.
The closer I got to him the more nervous I got. When he finally opened his eyes he took a deep breath. Tears were all I could see on his face. It was like a waterfall on his face. Every time he would wipe his face more tears just came running down his face.
He kneeled down on the floor and stared up at the ceiling. He whispered thank you God as he wiped his face. I'm trying my hardest not to cry right now but, he's making it hard for me. He has the most amazing reaction to things and I love it.
As I came face to face to Noah I couldn't help but cry. Forget about my makeup. This is the best day of my life. Noah grabbed my hand softly, placing a kiss on the back of my hand.
"You may now be seated"
All fifty of our guests took a seat. We decided to have a small wedding just to be safe. Considering Noah's past gang background we deiced that only inviting a few of our most trusted family and friends to our wedding was a smart idea.
The whole time the pastor was talking I didn't hear a word he said. Noah and I just stared at each other with love in our eyes. I impatiently waited for the pastor to pronounce us, husband and wife.
Noah and I decided not to read our vows during the actual wedding. Our vow reading will be a private moment between Noah and me on our honeymoon. It makes it more personal and intimate.
"By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride"
Noah wasted no time as he grabbed my face and kissed me. He dipped me as he bit my lips with passion. I guess we were doing too much since I felt my dad pull us apart.
"Even though she's your wife she's still my daughter"
Noah pulled away then wiped his lips. My red lipstick stained his lips no matter how hard he wiped.
As everyone made their way to the reception Noah and I stayed behind. I had to change into my reception dress. Since my wedding dress wasn't twerkable I had to buy something that was.
I had on a skin-tight gold dress that had tassels on it. I paired that with a gold round purse that had pearls on it and a pair of gold high heels.
Imma be throwing that ass back like it's nobody's business. Noah gonna be right behind me catching it too.
"Before we go to the reception can we go to Wingstop? They're having a special on their chicken tenders?"
Noah said. As he changed into his black suit. It's like he can read my mind. How did he know I wanted some Wingstop? I really love this man.
"Yes, we sure can"
An hour and a half later we finally made our way to the reception. Noah and I made sure to shake some mouth wash in our mouth before we walked I so no one could suspect anything.
The venue looks stunning. We decided to have our reception on a private beach. Flowers littered every inch of the tables that were placed in the middle of the beach. We made sure to add chandeliers to add to the intimate setting.
We tried sneaking in but, everyone was standing by the door waiting for us. They looked pissed off.
"Hey y'all, how y'all doing?"
"You guys had the nerve to go to Wingstop while we waited here for y'all? And don't even deny it because you accidentally shared your location with me"
Diamond said as she showed us the screenshot. Well then, We're busted. I put a guilty smile on my face as I looked at Noah. I have to think of something fast.
"We have a seafood boil line over there"
Everyone immediately forgot about Noah and I pit stop to Wingstop. I sighed a sigh of relief as they all calmed down. Thank God I have a bunch of fat people in my family.
"This is by far the best night of my life"
I said as I kissed Noah's neck. He agreed then laid a kiss on my forehead. I watched everyone as they enjoyed themselves in the buffet line and on the dance floor.
I smiled at Noah as he smiled at everyone surrounding us. We're genuinely happy together and it shows.
Maybe running into Mr. De La Cruz wasn't such a horrible thing after all.
THE END.
