Chapter Four

Hunter's POV

After eating Alexis' breakfast, I went to my room to play a video game before I went to campus and that is when it happened. My stomach churned, like someone had taken my intestines and mashed them together in a fit of rage. I straightened in my seat and cleared my throat, hoping that would stop the bile rising up my throat but it didn't. When I couldn't bare the pain my stomach, I slowly got out of my seat and walked to my bed. I wrapped myself in a duvet, waves of nausea adding to my misery, my dehydration was now apparent. When I heard someone open and close the front door, I exhaled, relieved. At least now someone would take me to the hospital before I died.

"Hunter, my man," Rory called then I sighed, rubbing my temple. He walked into my room as he put his keys in his pocket. "What happened to you? You look like you died and woke up," he said.

"Shut up," I said. I swung my barefoot on the carpet and groaned at the pain my stomach. I didn't feel like this when I woke up so it couldn't have been the tacos I had last night and the only thing I had eaten since then was Alexis' pancakes, which tasted funny. She wouldn't.

"Are you contagious?" He asked. "Oh wait, are you practicing celibacy? I hear it's very difficult."

"Why do you say things like that?"

"Because I'm a genius."

"No I'm not practicing celibacy," I said in frustration as my stomach lurched and gurgled. "Alexis made pancakes for me." I clutched on to my stomach, taking in deep breaths because I felt like gagging.

"What?" He screamed. "Alexis made food?"

"Yeah."

"And you put it in your mouth?"

"No, I shoved it in my trachea," I answered sarcastically. I stood up, gripping tightly to my stomach and letting out a loud exhale. "Shit," I whispered as I ran to the bathroom, barging in forcefully that I almost broke the door. I sat on the loo then it happened. It was scary that a man like me, could release stuff like that.

"Dude, why would you eat anything in this house?" Rory barged into the bathroom.

"Shit Rory, get out," I scolded.

"Give me a break, I've seen you naked. You and I used to take showers together when we were little, remember. You've nothing to write home about," he stated then I cringed.

"Why would you say things like that?" I asked.

"Hunter listen." he knelt in front of me then cupped my face in his hands dramatically. Rory was the kind of person who didn't believe in boundaries or privacy. I enjoyed my personal space. He also enjoyed my personal space. "Alexis probably put laxative in the pancakes, she probably caught one of her rattle snake friends and said 'oh hi Vanessa please I need some venom to poison my husband'," he added, mimicking Alexis's voice.

I rolled my eyes. "Really, Rory? Alexis is evil but she's not that evil." I defended.

"Don't defend her. She and Vanessa are Hades' children."

"She wouldn't."

"Were you there when she was making them?"

"No but-"

"We taped her bras and panties on the wall, what did you think she'd do? Fry you pancakes and you two would live happily ever after?" Rory asked.

"Yes. . . Well, no, not in those exact words," I answered.

"Don't fall in love with the enemy." Rory slapped me so hard my eyes widened.

"I'm not in love with her," I started hitting him. "You really think she's capable of this?"

"This and more."

"She could've killed me," I whispered. "I'm going to get revenge, sweet sweet revenge."

"Good thing I'm here to help." Rory stood. "And oh Hunter," he called as he got to the bathroom door.

"Yeah." I answered, clutching my stomach. It was hurting so bad. Curse you Alexis Swan.

"You seriously need to do something about your shit. It stinks bro." He covered his nose with his hand then I glared at him.

"Out!" I yelled then he left. How could a girl so beautiful be so evil and heartless. Her brown eyes were so deceiving, I fell for her stupid breakfast trick but I was going to get her back. Something she'd never forget.

After a while, I walked out of the bathroom, not bothering to hide the anger on my face. I sat beside Rory on the couch, who was stroking his invisible beard. "What's on your mind?"

"Why on earth you'd fall for a prank like that? Where you that hungry?"

"I actually wasn't. I had just woken-"

"Hungry for Alexis?" He added.

"What are you talking about?" I ran my fingers through my hair.

"I see the way you look at her."

"She's beautiful." I shrugged.

"She is but she and Vanessa are monsters. Remember she poured coffee on you?"

"I remember. She's going to pay for all of it."

"I have an idea." Rory started.

"Hit me." I stated.

"We make a fake call to Alexis telling her you're in coma because of your stomach ache," he explained with a bright smile, probably proud of his idea then I arched an eyebrow.

"People don't go into coma because of a stomach ache, you idiot," I corrected.

"She's not gonna know."

"Alexis is smart," I chipped in. "How about I was rushing to the bathroom and I fell and bumped my head."

"Perfect," Rory smiled. "Get ready and let's go for lectures."

"Wait, who's gonna make the call?" I asked, standing up.

"Me, I'm good at impressions." Rory answered.

"No you're not." I shook my head. "We need a professional," I stated, walking back to the bathroom. My stomach was hurting so bad, I sat on the loo then winced. "I can't believe I thought she was hot." I grunted.

"She is!" Rory yelled.

"Yeah," I said in return as everything once again came out of my butt. Oh my God, how was it possible to feel so weak all of a sudden.

"Hey how about we go to LA hospital and talk to John, your family doctor!" Rory yelled.

We went for our lectures an hour later and after sitting in astronomy class and listening to absolutely nothing the lecturer was saying, Rory and I went to the hospital.

"Come on John help us." I begged. John Figs was our family doctor and my father's college friend. He had dirty blonde hair, was blue eyed and his lab coat always made him an inch taller.

"I'm a very busy person, Hunter," he stated. "I honestly thought you two had changed from pulling stunts like this. You're in college now, not high school."

"This is not like that. I'm telling you that this girl deserves what's coming," I said.

"Please, please pretty please," Rory whined then I pinched the bridge of my nose.

"She gave me a stomach ache for goodness sake," I told.

"Take this you'll be fine." John handed me some drugs he took from his cabinet. It had Loperamide printed in purple on the case the drug was in.

"Do you know how I've suffered this morning, a man shouldn't go to the bathroom six times in a day," I said, annoyed.

"Who is this girl anyway?" John asked.

"His wife," Rory answered with a little chuckle then John looked at me in shock.

"You got married without inviting me? Wait, do your parents know?" He asked.

"We're not actually married-"

"Yes, you are," Roy said. "There's a certificate to proof that."

"Shut up, Rory. It is just misunderstanding, we'll be married for three months and don't tell my parents. I want to tell them myself." I warned.

"And now your wife is trying to kill you with pancakes," John added.

"I know right. Girls fall in love with me in a flash, she's so different," I said, my eyebrows etched in confusion.

"Who cares if she's not in love with you. We just want to scare her and her demonic friend." Rory threw his hands up.

"Please John, just to scare her," I pleaded.

"Okay fine, I'll help you scare her."

"To death?" Rory smiled.

"That was implied," John said.

"Yes." Rory shot up in excitement.

"Whoa, what do you mean scare her to death?" I asked then Rory hit the back of my head.

"Stop falling in love with her." He sat back down.

"I'm not falling in love with her alright," I said in defense. "But nobody said anything about her dying."

Rory rolled his eyes.

"So what exactly do you want me to do?" John asked.

"We want you to call her and tell her that Hunter's in a coma. He was rushing to the bathroom because of his stomach ache then fell and bumped his head," Rory explained.

"Okay, that is not cool but fine, I'll do it but just this once," John stated then I smiled. "You know this is an evil prank to pull on someone, especially your wife," he added and I cleared my throat, watching Rory nod in excitement. As much as I hated her for giving me diarrhea, I didn't want her to die of a heart attack.

"It was Hunter's idea," Rory defended himself. "He's a genius brosive." He smiled.

"True." John smiled.

"You think it's evil?" I asked. "Maybe we should not scare her anymore."

"Will you stop having second thoughts." Rory yelled in my ear then I winced.

"Ow," I said, giving my ear a little rub. "Do you really want to go to jail for killing someone?"

"Yes, I will gladly to go jail for killing Nessa."

I squinted my eyes at him. "You know I'm starting to think this isn't about Alexis."

"Sure, I don't hate Alex as much as I hate Nessa but they're both girls. The worst kinda girls. Remember when she poisoned your food?" Rory asked.

"Yeah I remember, she needs to pay," I said as I nodded.

"Oh boy." John exhaled. Rory was right. Alexis was the enemy.
