If Jacob was Horace's grandson
- Horace was born to a very rich family and therefore it was kinda difficult for him to adjust to humble loop life
- He really enjoyed it; he looks back on the memories he made there as the best he ever had
- But he eventually felt that there was more out there for him, so he left on September 4, 1940
- He went back to his home, where his parents were elated to have him back
- Several years later, he goes to college in America, where he meets the man of his dreams (that pun was not intended, but we're rolling with it)
- The man in question was a free-spirited, adventurous peculiar who was handsome on the inside as well as out
- Because gay marriage wasn't really a thing back then, Horace legally married his lover's sister, who wasn't so bad herself
- She ended up carrying his child because he had always wanted a child and he was willing to do whatever it took to make that happen
- It was a boy; he was normal, of course
- Because his dads were so vastly different from each other, Horace's son ended up being very unique
- He met a woman at a party and they instantly became that adorable dorky couple everyone wants to be
- Like Hugh and Fiona almost
- In fact, that was the reason Horace got all nostalgic and visited the loop the first time in years
- The children and Miss Peregrine were delighted to see him again
- The marriage between Horace's son and the woman of his dreams was half- arranged-half-would-have-happened-anyway
- When Jacob was born, Horace had a dream where Jacob had his peculiarity
- Oddly enough, it wasn't Horace but his husband who told Jacob all the stories, even though he himself had never really been in a loop
- Jacob started having prophothetic dreams when he was 5
- It started small; at first they were like he would get called on by the teacher the next day or his mom would surprise him on his birthday with as much cake and ice cream he could eat
- He told his other grandfather (Horace's husband) about it
- He told him that if he wanted to know all about it, he'd have to ask Horace
- Jacob did tell Horace
- Horace brought Jacob to visit the loop
- They visited several times throughout the years
- The peculiars simply loved watching little Jacob grow up
- When Jacob told kids at school they thought he was crazy and weird
- Jacob begged Horace to let him go to the loop and stay there
- He says no
- The two grow apart
- They visit the loop less and less
- Jacob begins to accept the peculiars as merely figments of his childish imagination
- He writes off his dreams as just coincidences
- Him and his parents move away from his grandfathers when he is 11
- When he is 16, Horace's husband dies of heart failure
- Jacob and his parents go to the funeral
- Horace takes Jacob aside and tells him "go back to the loop, Jacob; it's not safe out here; they've found me" and stuff like that
- He claims monsters are after him and they'll be after Jacob if he doesn't go to the loop
- Jacob just dismisses it as a delirious old man mourning the loss of his husband
- But it doesn't stop
- "They don't know you're peculiar, Jacob; you still have time to get to safety"
- Jacob and his parents had planned to stay for the entirety of summer break that year
- He continues not to take Horace seriously
- At least until one day when he comes home from the summer job he got there and found his grandfather missing
- He finds him in the back, mangled, dirty, bleeding, hanging onto life by a thread
- Horace's last words are "get to the loop"
- Again, Jacob writes off Horace's words as delirium
- Then he gets nightmares like he'd never had before
- Terrifying nightmares that made him afraid to go to sleep
- He remembers all the things his grandfathers had told him when he was young
- He was curious
- He decided to go to Cairnholm
- His parents say no
- He sneaks out in the middle of the night anyway
- He takes a bus to the port where he got on a ferry that took him to Cairnholm Island
- He's pretty disappointed by the fact that it's really not that impressive
- Then a few of the peculiars find him
- At first they think Jacob is Horace because they look so similar
- But that would be impossible
- They end up taking him to the loop
- He reunites and reconciles with the peculiars
- The others cry because Horace is dead
- Jacob decides he wants to stay there
- They say he couldn't
- One day, when he is outside the loop, Jacob's dad finds him
- He tells him to come home
- Jacob refuses
- Jacob's dad waits outside the loop entrance for days but Jacob wouldn't come out
- Eventually, he left
- But he didn't leave the island
- But then Jacob starts having nightmares again
- He dreams of monsters terrorizing the loop
- The others get very frightened
- They lock up tight when they hear the wights are raiding tons of loops, killing everyone
- Abe dares to take a peek outside the loop
- There is a hollow
- He barely gets back with his life
- Their loop is raided
- Shit hits the fan
- I honestly don't wanna come up with everything that happens after that because that would hurt my brain
