Cedric looks at his pack, "Phase two your job will be to circle and clear the way to the toad. Make sure no one heads toward us. You will hold that line. Phase three you will be on the rim of the valley and hold that line. There will be members of section B also holding that rim."

"Yes sir."

"I will lead two giants, 3 wolves, 2 Lycan, 10 goblins, and five witches into the valley. "We will work to take out the trolls and warlocks that were spotted there. Stornest called in 9 other dragons to help with the Phoenix. We will fight to clear that area but if the Phoenix are brought out we will fall back and Stornest will swoop in from above. As king of the dragon, we can hope they still realize he is their king."

"Phase four you will wait until you called to move up. Just be careful to stay out of the valley."

Stornest then spoke up. "As Alpha Cedric stated if he says fall back- be quick. We will be swooping in fast. We honestly just do not know if these Phoenix have been turned. I thought they were extinct a couple of centuries ago.  They are beautiful when they fire up and can be hypnotizing to watch. If they have turned this is when they can be deadly too. If you see anyone who is coming under their spell get between them. Then turn them to run. They will swoop in and touch you and their fire will burn you to death."

With those words, he shifted from his human form to his dragon form. He jumped and flapped his wings and soared into the sky.

Cedric called out, "Phase two move out. Phase three in ten minutes moves out. My group will be ten minutes behind them. Phase four you move out when you see sections B and D start to move out."

Phase two moved out and as they passed phase o e they were given words of encouragement about fighting and holding their line. They came across two different patrols and knocked them out. Fairies transported them to jail. They go to their road and hide ready to depend on their line if needed.

Phase three moved forward and started lining up on the rim of the valley. Members from section B joined them. They stared down below waiting for action to happen.

Alpha Cedric leads his group down. They came across a troll guard at a cave entrance. He let out a roar when he saw the giants and attacked them. This roar had other trolls coming out. Plus a few warlocks and rogues. The battle had begun.

From above they saw Alpha Cedric two goblins and a witch go down. Phase three from sections B and C sent down one-third of their force to join the battle. One of the elves shot the warlock through the heart bringing Cedric down.

Just then five cages appeared with the Phoenixes inside beside a warlock. The doors slide open. He started to say something when an arrow pierced him in his forehead. He fell over dead.

A roar was heard from above. Two wolves grabbed Cedric under his arms and started running back the way they had come. Other wolves grabbed the other fallen comrades. The trolls started following the giants who had already killed several of the trolls. The dragons swooped down and sent a reign of fire down on them.

One Phoenix charged out of his cage and took to the sky to confront the dragons. The others refused to leave. The roar of the dragon and the screeching of the Phoenix alerted both sides.

The Phoenix swooped at various dragons and claws would try to rake across their scales. Stornest finally made eye contact with him, "Stop this behavior now. Why are you attacking without cause?"

"Without cause!!! I grew up hearing stories about how you enslaved my ancestors and we are only alive because the trolls snuck us out of the cages you entrapped our parents in before you killed them."

Stornest growled, "Who filled you with those lies? Up until today, I thought phoenixes were wiped out by witches and trolls a couple of centuries ago. You can even read my memory to see I speak the truth. How many of you are there? I can bring you to where your ancestors lived in the sky. You could be free there."

"You lie." He then dove down toward the border where phases one and four were.

Stornest realized what he was going to do. He roared, "Cotshell and Hordest blast him. He must be stopped." The two blue-shelled dragons turned and one blasted with water and the other blasted with cold. When the water hit the furry feathers of the Phoenix it began to steam. When the cold blast hit the steam it froze. Then a larger green dragon smacked him with his tail down toward the ground. When the frozen Phoenix hit the ground it broke into many pieces. All but Stornest flew down toward the Phoenix. They picked up pieces and flew back toward their kingdom.

Stornest flew down. He saw a few trolls and witches in the cave entrance. He went toward the entrance as they ran back in and he blasted fire into the cave. He then turned toward the four remaining Phoenixes, "Why did you stay here and not join the one who attacked?"

One answered, "I did not feel you meant us harm. While those who kept up cage threatened to harm the others."

"Where are the others?"

"They haven't hatched yet. They are hidden in the back of the cave."

Stornest called out over his shoulder, "Goblins go search the caves and then the eggs. They have to be kept warm. Witches cast spells on their bags to be warm like incubators until I can get them to Phoenix Isle in the sky." The few witches started casting the spells and then the goblins stood at the entrance of the cave until the fire was out."

"That place is real? I thought you made it up to trick our brother."

"Come little ones out of those cages. When I get home I will dig out all the books I have about Phoenixes. While we fly there I will tell you stories about my friends."

As they moved out of the cages he looked up to the ones on the rim, "Go and join the battle. Those of us down here can handle the rest. Tell Supreme Charlie if he needs me to send a fairy to get me." Soon all but about a dozen started taking off. Those that remained were going to watch the high ground to make sure no ambush happened.

Once the goblins were able to go inside the cave they found the entrance to the incubation room where they discovered forty-two eggs.

Stornest looked toward the fairies, "Please transport all of us plus the eggs to my home." They went up to the bags and Phoenixes and touched them and they disappeared, "the rest of you take off to battle and I will take care of them." Then a fairy touched him. and he disappeared.
