Traveling Warriors

The next evening they arrived at a campground about 30 miles from Rendezvous Pack. Tyrick jumped out of the convertible, "thank you for letting me drive the convertible. Before I ever try again, I want goggles and a haircut or tie my hair out of my face. I wouldn't say I liked the wind hitting my face and having my hair get in the way occasionally. It was a distraction." He then hugged Peter and turned to go toward the RV. "I will make supper tonight." He went into the RV.

Tyrone's fist was gripping the wheel tightly. Zane said, "Tyrone, calm down. He hugged him in appreciation. He looks at Peter as family. When my brother and mate drove with him, he mentioned Peter is like his brother but not as bossy as Cedrick." He paused momentarily, "You feel jealous of just a friendly bro hug. Can you imagine how he felt to find you in bed with two she-wolves?"

"I am unsure how I will react tomorrow when we head to Rendezvous Pack." He got out of the car. He looked at Zane. "I am so jealous of Peter getting that innocent hug. I want him so much that it hurts."

Cami walked up to him, "This campground has cabins here. What if you book a cabin? You two stay there and talk."

Tyrick walked up to him, "Ty, let's go. I think it's time we commit. I forgive you. Before we go anywhere else and see others, I want them to know you are taken."

Dave said, "Glad that will be taken care of. You two stay here tomorrow. We will go on our own tomorrow to see Alpha Anderson."

Cami said, "I will cook tonight. Will leave some food on your stoop for if you get hungry later- even for breakfast and lunch."

They went into the RV and grabbed some clothes. They then jumped into the Subaru to see about getting a cabin.

Cami went into the RV to make supper while the guys set up the rest of the campsite. They pulled out four lawn chairs and set up a campfire. Dave said, "Since we are going up into the mountains tomorrow, we should all go inside the SUV. It has four-wheel drive just in case we hit rough spots."

Zane said, "Since you are the oldest, I think it would be better for us if you were our spokesman. This part of the mission seems odd. I think Connor knows more than they are letting on. When we go there tomorrow, we should ensure our radar is higher."

Peter asked, "Are you sure we should not bring Tyrone with us?"

Cami replied, "With their mate bond still not committed, they would be a bigger distraction. Let us not mention them tomorrow. This way, if we get into trouble, we will have them as backup. Plus, it will look like they checked in separately from us."

Peter stated, "If you think they know something more, let us just come in one wanted poster with the nine photos without information. We have them tell us what they know."

Dave pulls out his phone and dials, "Zane, we want a wanted photo with the nine guys' faces on it with no information." Pause. "Connor, we know you're not telling us something. You want us to do a fishing expedition with this pack." Pause, "We are not stupid; you have to think about who are parents are. They had all of us go through the same training. Charlie may be stronger than us, but smart-wise, we all got the same training. We learned each other's jobs. Plus, our younger siblings are learning the same thing." Pause, "Charlie, I do trust you guys, and I figure this pack has a seer, and you don't want the information you know to get in the way." Pause. He laughed, "I told you we had the same training. You don't know if they have a seer, but you're being cautious." Pause, "Tyrone won't be going with us. He and his mate are working their problems out. I figured they would be distracting when we need to be on our toes." Pause, "We are leaving the RV at the camp. Tyrick will be with Tyrone in a cabin. We will take the SUV. The GPS states it is 45 minutes. We will leave at 8:00 am and ensure we arrive at 9:00 am. I will talk with you tomorrow. Bye."

He turned toward the others. "Zeus said he would send me the updated poster I asked for. Charlie admitted they were not telling us all they heard. They want us to go blind on purpose and see what we learn. Cami, since you are our mate, they will most likely underestimate you. So play the nosy dumb female role and get the lay of the land. See if they will take you shopping in their rouge village. Peter, your job will be the warrior who likes to learn new training techniques. So figure out their strength and weaknesses. Brother dearest will have the alpha think you are the jealous younger brother who is underestimated. We can hope the beta or third in command will take you elsewhere. Be disgruntled to the point he might introduce you to others who feel your way."

Dave said, "You think they are hiding whom we are looking for?"

Cami looked at the guys, "That would make sense. Ok, we are a couple of miles from that small town. It had dinner. Let's grab supper there instead of me cooking. We can try to get information. Then order to go for Tyrone and Tyrick. Grab a cooler from the RV and put a case of soda in them with some ice. We will add the to-go bags and drop them off at Tyrone's cabin on our way back." They walk to the vehicle and climb in.

They got to the diner. They were getting scowls from a few wolves who were there. The waitress came over, "What can I get you?"

Cami said, "We want two sampler appetizers, four cokes, each a prominent New York strip steak with a double order of fries. We want them cooked medium rare.  Plus will order an apple pie, two blueberry pies, and a key lime pie.

I am also placing also going to order a to-go order: four fresh fruits, four orange juice, four bagels, cream cheese, four Turkey Club sandwiches with chips, four ham and cheese sandwiches with chips, four lava cakes, and four brownies.  Bring the to-go items with our check. I already figured out the order will be $146.29. I will send one of my guys out to grab a cooler. If you pack all the to-go items in the cooler, I will pay $200 to you. That will be a $53.71 tip." She looked surprised. "Here, showing good faith here is a $25 tip ahead of service."

"Bring in the cooler and set it on the table by the soda dispenser. I will make sure it gets packed. Let me go put your order in now." She walked away.

Two wolves came up to our table, "why are you here? We don't like strangers this close to our pack."

Dave looked at them, "We have a meeting tomorrow morning with Alpha Andrew of Rendezvous Pack." The eyes clouded over.

"He said be there tomorrow at 10:00 am. It will be after the first training but before the second." Then he turned and walked away. He threw money on the table, and several other tables did the same. Then walked out. They then realized the only wolves left here were them and a few staff members."

The three waitresses went to pick up the money and clear the tables. They were whispering, "Hate when they come here. They never tip but expect four-star treatment."

"Well, if you don't, they make our lives hell."

"Shit, this order is $10.00 short."

"Look, the visiting wolves paid me a tip to pack to-go boxes. Put this in there to cover it; otherwise, Sam will deduct $10 from each of our checks."

"This rate, you will never get you and your sister away from here."

"I told you it would get all four of us out of here. You guys also are my sisters."

Sam from the kitchen called, "ORDER UP."

Waitress one, "Coming Sam." She turned and walked over to pick up our steak orders. She carried it over to their table.

Cami said, "We overheard your talk. How much will it cost you to depart this place?"

"I am sorry you heard that."

Cami looked at her, "how much?"

"It is just a dream. We are treated like indentured slaves here. We grew up in the pack orphanage. Sam took us into his place. He gave us a roof over our heads. He feeds us twice a day. He keeps our pay, and we only get to keep our tips."

Cami then said, "How much have you saved then!"

"We are now at $202. Last week we had $3,349.52 in our small safe in our room, but it was stolen."

Dave said, "Who stole your money?"

"We were working and came home to our safe missing and house ransacked. Sam added the $400 for damages. As I said, we are indentured enslaved people."

Sam's voice yelled, "Stop bothering the customers, or I will deduct this as your break."

Peter stood up, "she is not bothering us. We were asking her questions about places around the area to see after our business with the Rendezvous Pack is concluded."

Sam looked at how big Peter was, "ok, sir."

Cami said, "When does this place close?"

She looked at the clock, "Forty minutes, and then we spend an hour or two cleaning up afterward. You guys were the last order for the night."

"Does Sam stay and help."

"Your kidding? He will leave in a little less than ten minutes."

"When he leaves, you and your friends pack your belongings. Then come back here. You guys are leaving tonight."

"We don't have the money. Besides, the bus won't be here for another two days even if we have the money."

Cami said, "Who said anything about taking a bus?"

Peter added, "I will hide you in my room. You will have to share bunk beds. When we leave, you leave with us."

Cami said, "No, you girls will drive out tonight. It is a two-day drive to the counseling center. You will drive there."

"We don't have a car."

Cami replied, "But I do."

Dave said, "Your cars are too noticeable. I got a better idea. You get back to work, and we will eat. Come back to us after Sam leaves." She turned and went back to work.

Dave makes a phone call, "Oh, hello, Uncle Goliath. Thought I was calling Aunt Tiana." Pause, "Yes, calling for another favor." Pause, "This isn't for us. We have four orphans who have been indentured. We wanted to ask if she could send some fairies to our location to take to the counseling center." Pause, "ok, will see them soon."

Peter said, "Fairy express?"

Dave laughed, "Yes, now let's eat." They chowed down.

A few minutes later, they came back, "Sam left."

Cami said, "You go pack. But before you do, show me Sam's office."

She showed Cami the office. She opened the door and started to go quickly through his papers. She grabbed a bag and placed his pieces inside. She then looked around and found an article in his top drawer that said 92-18-73. She walked over to the safe and opened it. Inside was a smaller safe and another book with bank information. She looked over at Dave, "This restaurant belongs to M. Branson.

A quick look shows these checks were sent here and deposited into three accounts. He had the account set up in his name and the girl's name so he could deposit the money.  Monica Slater has worked here for 73 weeks. It shows for the first 26 weeks; she was paid $6.25 an hour. She did 40-hour weeks and earned $250.00 minus taxes. He deposited $175 and changed.  Then her pay went from week 26 to week 52, $7.50. She made $375.00 minus taxes a week. He posited $280.00 and changed each week. From week 53 to week 73, her pay went to $9.00.  Plus, he deposited her tax refunds in the account. She has $23,341.51.

Plus, two more deposit books are set up with Katelyn Michael ($19,894.27) and Carolyn Pierce ($17,469,11). There is even a book with Betty Slater ($9321.15). The bank is local. I think the girls should go close out the bank accounts before they leave town. Plus, take their safe with them.

Dave replied, "He has been indenturing them and stealing their pay."

Just then, five fairies showed up, and a Supernatural Council  Enforcer, Terrance Brown. They showed him all the records. He took the books and the safe. He had one fairy take him to the bank, and he froze the accounts.  He popped back, "I have several receipts of evidence. He hands them all to Monica, "You can hold onto these. Once Sam has stood trial, you can claim your account. I am bringing you back with me. We have a home others have used in the past while they await trial." He looked at Dave and Zane, "It is the house your mother lived in, located in fairy property." He looked at the fairies, "Take the girls there and settle them in. Please send back a couple of other fairies to help bring Sam back to prison." He looked at them, "You guys have been keeping us busy. I think it's time we reinstate surprise visits for spot inspections. Well, I need to go trek down Sam and arrest him."

Monica said, "Try Pigsty Cavern or his house." She pulled a pen out and wrote on a piece of paper. Then handed him the paper. "Here are their addresses."

Carolyn asked, "If we leave won't we become rogues? We haven't yet requested to join any other pack."

Cami pulls out her phone and dials a number, "Hi Adam." pause, "I only just left, so not missing you yet." Paused and laughed. "Love you too, but I am calling to give heads-up. Katelyn Michael, Carolyn Pierce, Monica, and Betty Slater is being sent to the fairy's territory as a witness. They will need a new pack sponsor so that they won't be rogues. Plus, some counseling afterward. It cannot be traced back to my mate's pack. I am sending a fairy to you. She will bring you to them to be added to the pack." She paused, "Yes, and thank you. Take care of them. See you soon." She hangs up. "You got a new pack to join." She looks at one of the fairies,

Then the fairies, girls, and enforcers all disappeared. Peter said, "Let's grab the cooler and drop it off at the cabin. Then head back to camp. Tonight is a full moon. How about we go for a run before we go to bed."
