TRACKERS AND ENFORCERS AT THE BOMBING SITE (Aiden, Benjamin, Chris and Connor)

The following day Aiden, Benjamin, Chris, and Connor climbed into the red SUV with Conner driving. When they got to the sight, they were met by a different Lycan than yesterday.

"How can I help you? This area is restricted while we are investigating. Both Aidan and Benjamin growled.

Benjamin said, "We were here yesterday and have permission to be here. As an Enforcer, I have more rights to be here than you. Stand down, pup." He tried to link Easton but to great a distance. He pulled out his phone and called him. When Easton answered, he said, "You better
tell your guards not to dare question my rights to be here at the bomb site. I am still a pack member, and he is sneering down at Beta Aiden and me."

Aiden takes the phone from Benjamin, "he knows who I am, and he dares question us," he says in an angry voice. Everyone in this group glances over and sees his fist clenched as he fights to stay in control, "but I don't remember working or meeting him. So he has to be a new graduate. He is treating me like a rouge, and I know damn well he feels the connection. I still feel the pack connection even if I cannot link this son of bitch."

Easton said, "Tell me, who is questioning you?"

Aiden asks, "What is your name, boy?"

"I am not a boy. I am Warrior Tank Harper, and I was ordered not to let anyone in."

Easton said, put on speaker phone, "Warrior Harper. I know you're doing your job. This is Alpha Easton, and I am too far to link you. I will call the command post, and soon you will get official verification."

"If I get an official notification, but until then, they aren't coming in. I don't know if you have; you are the real alpha."

We all heard a growl. "I am putting you on hold," and then heard a click. He stood by our vehicle, glaring at us.

A few minutes later, another Lycan came running up to them, "Warrior Harper, we just got our asses chewed out by the command post. You're refusing to let SNAP in. They are authorized here."

"Sir, I was never informed of SNAP. I was told no one."

Alpha Easton's voice was then heard over the phone. "Warrior Tank, you were doing your job. Learn SNAP's scent. A command post has been informed pack if anyone dares to question the presence of SNAP members again, it will be thirty days collared and busted down to omega for sixty days. They were also informed about briefing future shift changes about SNAP. You verify they are whom they say. Then let them in."

He then growled again. "The only thing I am questioning is why you questioned them. Some SNAP members still are pack members and maintain their pack ranks. Aiden is still part of Lycan Pack."

"Sir, I felt their connection, but they did not respond to my link. They did not smell like our pack scent. I felt it was some trickery. I never heard of SNAP."

Alpha Easton said, "Beta Aiden and Enforcer Benjamin, I am sorry that happened. We had a shift change, and that group was not briefed about you.  I have made sure all future changes are informed. We now know this is a drawl back of co-pack membership: they cannot link and scent change when they feel a pack connection. It causes confusion among pack members."

"Thank you, Alpha."

"I have to go. Bye," he disconnected the phone.

The Lycan guard says, "I am sorry, sir, but last night we had a group of rogues try to enter the cordoned-off area. I was told no one was to enter. I did not know who you were."

Connor said, "Interesting, a group of rogues show up as we start investigating. You keep guarding and let no one in unless part of SNAP or authorized by your alpha. I realize you were doing your job. If anyone questions it, tell them Enforcer Conner Bates ordered it with support from Alpha Easton Hutton. By the way, what is your name again? I know you said it, but I will admit I was angry and working to control my other half."

"It was not my intent to anger you, sir. My name is Warrior Tank Harper, sir."

"None of that sir stuff. I am not a top three. Just call me Connor. We will leave you to your duties. Here is my phone number," He hands him a piece of paper with a number on it, "Call me if you need assistance or have questions."

"Yes sir," he points to the area we parked in yesterday, "you can park there." he turns and walk away.

The car is parked, and they climb out. Connor says, "Chris, let's start by looking at the bomb site. I want us all to examine this footprint you've been discussing."

Chris leads them over to the footprint. He then pulls out the photo from a bag he is carrying. He pulled out a ruler and placed it by the prints. He snaps a photo of them. "Interesting, one shoe is half an inch shorter than the other. I could not tell that in the photo they took. I don't remember any notes mentioning that. Beta Hutton, do you agree with my assessment? I am sorry for not noticing that before."

"Just call me Aiden. I think it will be easier to keep first names. Now we have seen these footprints let's start looking for the prints. See if we can figure out what happened here." Everyone started searching for footprints.

About twenty minutes later, Benjamin called out, "Come here and look at these footprints by the edges of the woods here. Theron said there were nine people he saw in that group.  Right here," pointing to a set in the back, " are nine sets of footprints group together. This one set matches the print that appears to be near the car. It is at the back of this group. I can see that this footprint backs up and goes into the woods. I followed it. It emerges about twenty feet down the road. It walked up to about ten feet from the group feet. Then it looks like a struggle based on smudged prints.  Then leads to the spot where the footprint was. You can see his muddy, smeared images. I took several photo shots of them."

Conner asked, "Why has no one else noticed this?"

Chris said, "None of the Lycan we spoke to were official trackers. They had one tracker who had less than a year of experience on-site. They had him tracking debris. The others were warriors and CSI members collecting pieces of the blast he found farther away. Their priority is focused more on the escaped prisoners."

Connor pulls his phone out and pushes a button. He says, "sending a memo to self if this sort of thing ever happens again that trackers must be sent in first. Have them do training about not disturbing evidence. Call in an enforcer to check over the site. Then CSI trains warriors about evidence gathers sweeps." He looked at us, "No wonder our files are such a mess and disorganized when given to us. They had no enforcer here or experienced trackers."

Aiden says, "The experience enforcers are after the escaped prisoners. They should have called in enforcers from other packs, even if Lycan usually investigates this. The evidence gathered sweeps are done but in this case. The names I see here are all first and second-year warriors.  They sent all the experience warriors to the prison.  The most experience is one, third year. Since I did not know Warrior Tank and he was young, I would say he was a recent graduate. I was not at the last graduation. I was at Juniper Pack.  I will be sure to state in a memo that there should be at least one experience warrior with every five green warriors."

Benjamin asked, "What do you consider green warriors?"

"In Lycan training, and green is anyone under three years in. Their third-year warrior is a good fighter but lacks leadership training. Yet he did a hell of a job collecting evidence even if it's disorganized."

Connor looked at them, "Since I am not a tracker and have been following Aiden around, I am going to go around the perimeter and see who all is here now and the years they have been warriors. Then will give you the information you need to write your summary to Alpha Charlie from a warrior's point of view, and I will write mine from an enforcer's point of view. We let Alpha Charlie send letters to both council and Alpha Easton with any other recommendations."

Aiden nodded, "You get that information, and we will study, take photos, and note what we discover." He points to the group of nine footprints. 

"Benjamin- We have three other sets that go toward the car. Please follow those and make your notes and photos. We will compare all notes afterward. See if we come to the same conclusions. If we don't, we will stay here tonight and recheck tomorrow before the rain hits." Benjamin nodded and took off.

"Chris, you keep following that footprint you discovered and the other two right before him. I will follow the two in the very front and the footprints that are behind them. I want it tracked both ways, coming and going. That rain front they predicted for later this week looks like it will move in tomorrow afternoon. That could wash away any evidence that the inexperienced warriors missed. That is most likely why the rogues attempted to attack last night." Chris turned and started following the trail of the other two. When walking through the woods.

Aiden looked at Connor, "You find out about the guards in this area. Plus, start looking at the site from an enforcer's point of view. I am wondering if the prison bombing was intended to distract from here. I also wonder why." Aiden started following his tracks, and Connor went to talk to the guards. Plus, he has begun his investigation.

Later that day, they contacted Alpha Charlie. "We are staying the night. We are investigating the scene from an enforcer's point of view and not a warrior's point of view."

After the phone call, They shifted and went for a hunt and killed a couple of deer. After eating, they returned to the tent the guards assigned them and compared notes.

Aiden said, "I did talk to Charlie, as you know. I told him we would maybe be back tomorrow. We tried to gather as much as possible before the rain moved in. I will start. I made a drawing of the feet' position. I did list down as unknown 1-9. I wrote down all unknown shoe sizes based on measurements. We will add your information. Here is a chart to figure out your unknown shoe sizes."

"As you know by the chart, my unknown one had a size 15.5 shoe, unknown two had a size 12, and strange 3 had a shoe size 15 with the larger feet, which tells me most likely werewolf. It would make me think all size 12 show is over 6 feet tall; when you get size 15 shoe, then unknown is over 6-1/2 feet tall.

Unknown one and three walked over to this area." He pointed to a map that was about ten feet from the vehicle. " Would say they got into a scuffle with the driver. I found drops of blood. It was dried up and led back to the car. I gave that sample to Warrior Tanks, who runs it back to Juniper Pack. They know he is coming. They can hopefully figure out who was driving. We do know from skid marks that the driver hit the brakes. I would guess the one car exploded. The second car we know exploded a few minutes later. Not sure why only he deployed out of the car."

Enforcer Connor said, "Sounds like an ambush then. They stayed around to see all victims were killed. They wanted to see their mission accomplished. I am starting to feel the child locks were engaged, so they did not deploy. Even though the pups were only thirteen, I heard they were strong fighters for their age."

Aiden said, "Well, my unknown two showed footprints approaching the car. I noticed he was light-flooded going to the car but heavy-footed coming back.  Then I followed the trail to the farmer's driveway. I took photos of the tires. They were tsp570-295 or tsp575-295, which are heavy-duty backroad tires. Ok, Benjamin, your turn."

Benjamin reported, " Unknown 4, Size 13.5 shoe; Unknown 5, Size 13 shoe; and Unknown 6, Size 15 shoe. These three sets walk toward the car's passenger side. I noticed heavier tread when going to the car. Coming back was lighter. When tracking through the woods and ends at the driveway—I saw tire tracks that were tsp570-295, not quite wide enough for 575.  Those tires are usually used on hauling vans because they have excellent traction on wet and snowy roads. I was generally used in the mountain regions for better traction and, yes, sometimes used on backroad muddying tires.

If we are going to find out more information about mountain regions, we should contact Cayenne Mountain. I know Elder Alpha Bruno, but I haven't seen his daughter, Alpha Christine, since she took over as Alpha. They would be able to tell us about mountain rogues. He is good friends with Elder Alpha Solomon. Maybe they could meet us here tomorrow with more information?"

It got quiet for a minute. They could see Aiden's eyes were clouded over. They knew he was linking someone. When his eyes cleared, "I just linked Alpha Charlie. Surprised the link worked. He said he would talk to Alpha Solomon tonight. Then one of them will reach out to Elder Bruno,
who he said knew and helped protect his mom before he was born. One of them will let me know once they have contacted them." He looked at Connor, "Alpha Charlie also said if you need more enforcers to let him know. He knows Cayenne Mountain pack has enforcers."

Connor replied, "Not at this time. They should have been called in at the beginning."

Chris added, "When I was done, I went to the barn. I could hear the animals. The cows and horses hadn't been fed for several days by how they acted. What I read in the reports is the neighbor said they usually take care of the animals. They figured they got someone else or canceled their vacation when they hadn't been asked. I fed the animals. I then released them out to pasture. I left the barn doors open so they could come in and out. I filled up their water troughs. I am starting to think the owners of this place are dead, and we haven't found the bodies yet. The neighbors are going to start caring for the animals starting tomorrow."

Connor said, "If they kept the bodies on the premises, the only place not searched is beyond where they stopped finding debris. They would have had to of buried or hidden them somewhere not to see vultures flying around. Tomorrow let's start trying to track the farmers. They either dead or part of the bombing."

Chris stated. "Let me now inform you of my other discoveries. Unknown number nine has two shoe prints by a car of different sizes. One size was 10-1/2, and the other a size 11. I would guess he was a runt. He would be no taller than 5 feet 8 inches if typical runt size. His set matches being near the trunk of the car. He did start at the back of this group. I could see this footprint back up and goes into the woods. I followed it. It emerges about twenty feet down the road. It walked up to about ten feet in front of the group feet. Then it looks like a struggle based on smudged prints.  Then leads to the spot where the footprint was covered in debris blown out. I wonder if Theron came up to the group, and they had hoped to dispose of the body by placing it near the blast. Instead, the blast threw him and the bike several feet away."

Aiden replied, "We have discovered more than the others did. This crime scene seemed to have taken a back seat to the other crime scene."

Chris added, "These other two guys, an unknown seven size 12-1/2 shoe and an unknown eight size 15 shoe appeared light-footed going to the driver's side back door, but more heavy coming back. They lead into the woods, coming back. Unknown eight was on the side where I found the three pieces of ripped cloth. There is one thing I am wondering. Are we looking at a kidnapping instead of the murder of the elders and pups? Could the bodies in the car have been the missing farmer's family instead of the elders and pups? There weren't enough remains to get DNA from since other elements contaminated it."

Benjamin commented, "When writing recommendations make sure no blame is placed on any alphas. All the surrounding packs went into lockdown. Then several went to the memorial. The focus wasn't volunteering to help the crime scene here. Then Alpha Easton's priority was the escape prisoners, plus dealing with his brother's death. None of us even thought of volunteering to come here. We all just thought the Lycan was doing it. Not even the council thought about it. Whoever planned this seemed to know how everyone would react. They did not expect SNAP to be formed. I wonder if they wanted to get control of Juniper Pack. Attack when leaders would be most vulnerable."
