Chapter 5

Adam awakes the next morning alone in the bedroom. Looking at the clock he sees that it was nine-thirty. He wondered if Tim had gone to help Bob. He doesn't remember him saying anything about it.

He groans but smiles as he slips on his jeans, replaying in his mind the happenings in the shower yesterday. D*mn, he loved that man!

The blonde leaves the bedroom and follows the smell of breakfast into the kitchen. Olena and Sami were busy making breakfast. Austin sat at the table staring out the window enjoying his morning coffee.

"Where's Tim?" Adam asks as he fixes himself a cup of coffee.

"Out there." Austin answers, pointing out the window. "He seems to be deep in his own little world. Is he alright?"

"Yeah, he's just got a lot to think about." Adam says with a smile as he looks out the window.

Austin gives Adam a questionable look.

"You know what we talked about on the phone while Tim and I were in Minnesota?" Adam asks, lowering his voice so the girls wouldn't hear.

"You mean bui.." Austin was quickly silenced by Adam's hand over his mouth. He nods.

"Well, I brought the subject up to Tim last night." Adam smiles as Austin's eyes widen. "So like I said, he has a lot to think about. Not a word to the others, got it?"

Austin smiles and nods.

Adam takes his coffee and heads outside to join his husband. He walks through the high grass of the vacant lot.

"Good morning, handsome." Adam says.

"Morning, gorgeous." Tim smiles, glancing over his shoulder.

"Whatcha doing?" The blonde as he walks up beside the cajun.

"Thinking." Tim answers as he looks around the lot.

"About what?" Adam asks even though he knew.

"What do you think I'm thinking about." Tim chuckles, shaking his head.

"Anddd?" Adam says as he lays his head over on his lover's shoulder.

"We have to all agree on the house. Nothing big and fancy but something nice and simple." Tim says. "Mom's house is not to be harmed in any way."

"You got it." Adam smiles as he leans over and kisses his husband's cheek.

"I've always wondered what to do with this lot. I guess now I know." Tim chuckles slipping his arm around Adam's waist.

"Can we go tell the others?" Adam asks with a huge grin.

"Might as well." Tim nods.

As they near the house, they see Sami coming out with two covered plates.

"Where are you going with our food?" Tim laughs.

"Chance had to sit with a patient last night so I'm carrying him breakfast. Is that okay with you?" She asks with a bit of sass.

"I don't give a sh*t." Tim laughs. "Listen, uh, there's something we need to talk to you and Chance about. So can y'all swing by whenever he gets off work?"

"Sure. Is everything okay?" She asks as she set the plates in her car.

"Everything is fine. It's just something we need to discuss with you." Adam says.

"Okay, no problem." She smiles as she slips on her sunglasses and gets into her car.

"I was just fixing to yell for you two." Olena says, sitting the food on the table as they walk into the kitchen.

Austin eyes Adam for any sign that the talk went well. He did catch a bit of a smile on the blonde's lips.

Tim pushes his empty plate away and gets up to refill his coffee cup. With Tim's back turned and Olena dealing with Bailey, Austin nudges Adam's leg with his knee. Adam only smiles and winks at the younger brother. Austin had to restrain himself from hopping happily in his chair.

"There's something that we need to discuss." Tim says as he fixes his coffee.

"WE'RE BAAAACK!" Sami calls out with a giggle as she walks into the kitchen still carrying the two covered dishes. "Look who I met coming down the road."

Tim glances over his shoulder to see Chance following behind her.

"That's perfect. I'll just kill two birds with one stone then." Tim says as he makes his way back to the table.

"What?" Chance questions.

"Oh, Beau was wanting to talk to us about something." Sami explains.

"So. What's up, Bro." Austin asks with anxious eyes.

"Uh, Adam came up with an idea yesterday. And to be honest, I wasn't quite keen on the idea at first." Tim says, looking around and meeting Adam's smiling eyes. "But the more I thought about it, the idea grew on me."

"Tim takes forever getting to something." Austin chuckles, shaking his head.

"Just shut up and listen." Tim smirks at his little brother. "This house is just too small for the number of people living here. We're stumbling over one another. If a person farts on one side of the house, everyone hears it. Bailey is getting bigger and will soon be needing her own room."

"Beau, are you kicking me out?" Sami asks, her eyes widening.

"No, Sam, I'm not kicking you out." Tim chuckles. "Austin and I own this big lot that our mom left us. This large area beside the house has really been useless until now. Since we now have the money to improve our lives a bit, Adam came up with the idea of building us a new home. A nice three-bedroom house, nothing fancy."

"But this is a three-bedroom. So what's the difference?" Chance asks.

"Uh, Sami won't be coming with us. She'll be living here, hopefully with you." Tim smiles.

"You're giving us the house?!" Sami asks with a huge smile.

"No," Tim chuckles shaking his head. "I never said that. This is mine and Austin's house. But it needs someone to take care of it and that's where you two come in."

"Tim, I truly don't know what to say." Chance says with a smile. "I've been wanting to move out and get a place with Sami but there just isn't anything worth living in around here."

"Well, I know what to say," Austin laughs as he jumps to his feet. "HOT D*MN!! WE'RE GETTIN' A NEW HOUSE!!"

"Oh, my God. This is so exciting. I can't believe it." Olena says, smiling ear to ear. "A new house with two bathrooms, I hope?"

"Top of the list." Adam laughs. "I thought maybe we could build the house ourselves. It would be a hell of a lot cheaper. We could go over to Jenika's and use her computer to look at some houses. She's a carpenter and electrician so she'll be doing a lot of the work."

"Do you want me to call her to see if she's at home?" Olena asks.

"Sure, we can start looking today if she's not busy." Tim nods. "But, we all have to agree on something. I just want something simple and Adam suggested it being built upon stilts, which I agree, that's my input." Tim ends with a shrug.

Olena hops up and runs to make the call.

"If you guys go to Jenika's, you mind if I crash here awhile? I'm exhausted." Chance says.

"We don't mind." Tim answers.

"I can watch Bailey if you want." Sami offers.

"That would be great. It would be hard to concentrate on house hunting with a rowdy little girl." Austin says as he bops his daughter lightly on the nose.

"She said to come on over." Olena announces as she comes back into the kitchen.

"Y'all go ahead, I'll clean the kitchen while Chance sleeps." Sami says as she begins to gather the dishes.

"D*mn, this is so exciting. I'm so happy for you guys." Jenika giggles with excitement as she sets up her laptop.

She and Adam were the only ones with computer knowledge so they sit down in front of the computer. Tim sits down next to his husband with Austin sitting next to Jenika with Olena on his lap.

"This is the website that I got the floor plans for my house." Jenika says.

They were beginning to lose hope in finding something that suited them. Too big, too small or just plain ugly.

The cajun was quickly becoming bored and begin amusing himself by looking around Jenika's home. He became very interested in the solar panels on her roof.

"What about this one?" Adam says, drawing Tim's attention back to the computer.

"How many bedrooms?" Tim asks as he adjusts his glasses.

"Three bedrooms, two baths." Adam answers.

Tim looks over Adam's shoulder at the house he had found. Nice, not too fancy. He liked it.

"I like that." Austin says and Olena nods in agreement.

"That is nice." Tim nods. "Not too fancy."

"Let's check out the floor plans." Jenika says.

"D*mn, it actually looks bigger than the house." Austin laughs.

Adam giggles as Tim points to the bathroom of the master bedroom.

"Wait. It has an elevator?" Tim asks, leaning over so he could see the plans better.

"Yeah, that could be a problem. I know nothing about installing elevators." Jenika sighs.

"Do we even need one?" Austin asks, glancing around at his brother.

Tim pulls gently at his whiskers as he stared at the floor plans, deep in thought.

"Okay. What about this..." He says as he leans slightly into his husband. "What if we ditch the elevator and use that money to have solar panels put on the roof. Cause look here, there's a utility room with a washer and dryer, a/c unit, and a hot water heater."

"We definitely need a washer and dryer." Olena nods.

"Exactly. A generator large enough to run that stuff along with the kitchen appliances and lights would cost us out our ass." Tim says, looking around at the others.

"My house didn't have solar panels in the plans. I added them myself. They run everything including my washer and dryer." Jenika says.

"The space where the elevator is, we can just make it into a closet or something." Adam says. "And that studio can either be a guest room or we can just decide later."

"It's got my vote." Tim nods. "I like it."

"It's got mine too." Austin smiles.

"I love it." Olena says. "This could be our bedroom (pointing to the smaller bedroom with the bathroom) and this one (smaller bedroom w/o bathroom) can be Bailey's."

"Let's do it." Adam smiles as he logs in to order the blue-print.

Until next time .... ✌️
