I really wanted to like this movie. Everybody was talking about this, and the prequel (Pearl). I kept hearing how great it was and how I needed to watch it.

I was expecting the perfect slasher movie for Halloween.

The first half of the film was incredibly slow and pornagraphic. I felt like the gory sex scenes didn't add anything to the plot. I don't mind graphic scenes when they are necessary, but I didn't think this added anything to the film. It just seemed to be there for entertainment purposes.

I didn't really like any of the characters, but I don't think any of them were really meant to be likable anyways.

I had so many questions. I wish we had gotten more background about the characters, especially Maxine. She seemed interesting and although the film was set up like she was the main character, it didn't feel like she was.

I wanted to watch Pearl, but was told to watch this first and honestly I'm not even sure if I want to watch Pearl anymore because I didn't really enjoy this one.

I was patient, and I did watch the whole thing (I'm no quitter). But even when things did start to pick up and action was happening, I didn't care about any of the characters so it was less intense.

It wasn't a very scary movie, but there were a few scenes that genuinely shocked me. But to be honest, I was expecting a little more action.

Overall, I like the premise of the film and I think it's a great idea that could've made a great movie. It just fell short, in my opinion. What do you guys think? Let me know your thoughts. I'm always open to discussion and opinions.
