Joker is directed by Todd Phillips and the main actor is Joaquin Phoenix.

This will be a non-spoiler review.

My thoughts

Right off the bat I'll say - this movie is beautifully shot. I couldn't stop and just marvel (ba-dum-tss) at how good is cinematography.

One thing I'll note is that there's not a lot of action, but the last 20 minutes are....wow. They are wow.

And it's not a bad thing that it doesn't have action.

Now when it comes to Joker, please don't compare Joaquin performance with Heath Ledgers.

They are both unique, and while Heath Ledgers Joker is gonna down in history as one of the best potrayals of the psycho clown, Joaquin also just knocks it out of the park.

I swear if this movie doesn't get a Oscar nomination....

We'll....send in the clowns😉

Because not just the cinematography is amazing.

The whole movie is filled with surprises and I wouldn't really count it as a superhero genre movie.

It is refreshing to see standalone movies that don't connect to a cinematic universe. For me, it's really a breath of relief and DC should do more movies like the Joker.

We all know how their dumpster fire DCEU went down.

And now they are on the roll.

Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Shazam. While these movies have problems, you gotta admit that they're good and know what the hell is sun.

And now with Joker....I am on DC side completely.

I realized that I love stories who explore more mature themes and don't ruin their own serious scenes with a joke. And don't sabotage a movies potential because it is connected to a Universe.

Marvel can't take that risk, but DC thrives with it.

They made the first female superhero lead movie with a character and actress who almost everyone loves. Sure, third act has problems, but it was the turning point.

Ok I went off ranting, but I'll finish saying this - Joker is a entertaining movie that shows the psychology of Arthur Fleck.

We know what makes him tick in the end, how he became the Joker, what motivates him.

I would recommend.
