*Brendon's pov*

"Listen, I really need to talk to you about Patrick." As soon as the words left my mouth I regretted them. I'd never made a huge issue over Patrick's drinking, but I'd watched it destroy so much of his life already, including past relationships. He seemed so happy with Pete already, and Pete deserved to know. The sooner the better, before they had a chance to fall for each other and get hurt. Hopefully Pete would try to make it work though, for Patrick's sake.

I glance up to see Pete staring at me expectantly. "S-sorry, I got lost in thought. Umm can you meet me later? Without Patrick around?" I ask and Pete just nods as Patrick walks back in with a beer for each of them.

Patrick drinks at least three beers for every one of mine and Petes. I wonder if Pete notices and when I look at him he's watching Patrick with a concerned look on his face. I frown, wondering if I'm making the right decision by telling him.

~Time Skip~

We'd decided to meet at a nearby diner, it was around supper time and neither of us had eaten. Pete walks in and I wave him over. He sits down the waitress walks over and takes our orders. As she walks away Pete turns to me. "So, what's this about?" He asks, sounding concerned. "Is Patrick ok?" "

"Y-yeah, he's fine." I respond staring down at the table. "Ummm the thing I wanted to talk about is.. Well, uhh, I'm not really sure how to put it so I guess I'll just say it." I take a deep breath and wonder once again if I'm doing the right thing. "Patrick has a drinking problem." I blurt out. "It's why he lost his old job. It's why his relationships always fail, and I never really make a big deal out of it, but I think it's time I started. It's not good for him, and I also thought you deserved to know what you're getting into."

Pete looks down at the table for a moment before looking back up at me. "I kinda guessed as much.. But, I have friends who can help. We'll get him clean. We'll help him to stop." He says in a positive voice with so much conviction that I can't help but believe him.
