I woke up to an extremely painful cramp. It seemed like forever before it went away. I sat up and laid back down. I felt like crap. My chest hurt and it felt like I was going to throw up. I laid in my bed for another half an hour before I sprang up and ran to the bathroom. When I got in there, I threw up in the toilet. When I finished, I wiped the  sweat off of my forehead and went back to me room. I laid in my bed and tried to go back to sleep. I tossed and turned, but I was still wide awake. That's when I decided to go downstairs. I found my dad sitting in the kitchen, looking through the fridge. "Dad?" I croaked out, "I feel really sick and I can't fall asleep"

       He looked at me. "We can go to the doctors if you want. To see if there's some medicine you can take," he suggested.

       I nodded before grabbing a brown lunch baggie for the car ride. He grabbed a water bottle and we got in the car. When we got to there I was brought into a room immediately to see if it was anything serious. They had me pee in a bottle and left to go test it. I was in there for another half an hour before the doctor finally came back. "Ma'am, when was the last time you had sex?" she asked.

       "A couple days ago, why?" I asked.

       I don't know why I asked. I already knew where the conversation was heading. "Ma'am, your a week pregnant," she said.

       I started to panic a little. I can't be pregnant, I thought to my self, I'm only seventeen! I took a couple of deep breaths to help calm myself down. "Take one of these pills everyday, " she said handing me a small pill container, "It will help with the morning sickness. You shouldn't need them once their gone, but if you do, don't be afraid to come back."

       I nodded and stood up. I went out to the waiting room, where my father was, and sighed. My dad walked over to me and helped me schedule my next appointment. When we were on the elevator, something seemed to be bothering him. "What's wrong?" I asked.

       "So, I'm going to be  a grandpa?" he asked, looking me dead in the eye.

       "Yes sir," I said biting my lip a little too hard.

       He smiled as he calmed down a little bit. There was something still bothering him, I could tell. I didn't push it, though, because he obviously didn't want to talk about it. We finally got to our level and headed home. When we got home, I went straight for the freezer. I took out the bucket of vanilla ice cream and started eating out of it. I sat down at the table and just kept eating until I got full. When I was done, there was only half of it left. So, I put it back in the freezer and went upstairs. I thought of ways to tell Nico and my friends. Each thing that I thought of was too much, so I decided that I would just tell them. "I'm home!" I heard Nico yell.

       Perfect timing, I thought to myself as I went downstairs. When I got down there, he was laying on the couch using his phone. "Nico," I said quietly.

       He looked up at me and smiled. "What's up princess?" he asked, sitting up.

       I sat down next to him and bit my lip. Come on Joanne, you can do it, I thought. I took a deep breath and looked him in the eye. "I'm pregnant," I said.

       His face went stern in a matter of seconds. "Seriously?" he asked.

      "Seriously," I said with confidence.

       He went from frowning to having a huge smile on his face in no time. "I'm going to be an uncle," he said excitedly.

       He did a little dance, making me laugh. He pulled me onto his lap and gave me a hug. He buried his face in my neck as he cried tears of joy. "Are you going to find out it's gender or will you be surprised?" he asked looking up at me.

       "I'm definitely finding out the gender," I said.

       He smiled and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "I can't believe I'm going to be an uncle," he said.

       We laid down on the couch and watched SpongeBob for the rest of the day. This was one of the happiest moments of my life. We fell asleep on the couch.
