I woke up the next morning to my phone ringing. I answered it, not bothering to check the caller id. "Hello?" I answered groggily.

       "You have to come quick! Bruno's hurt!" Anthony yelled from the other side of the call.

       My eyes widened and I shot up. "I'll be there as soon as I can. I'll have Nico get an ambulance," I said as I started to wake everyone else up.

       "No need, Mason is on the phone with them now," he replied.

       "OK, just stay put," I told him before hanging up.

       "What's going on? Why are you waking us up?" Nico whined as he started to wake up.

       I quickly get our parents up before answering his question. "Bruno's hurt and they want us to get to the cabin as soon as we can," I explained as I threw on my jacket.

       Everyone started to get ready to leave before we all jumped into Nico's car and raced up to the mountain. We got there in only about fifteen minutes since we live on the edge of town.  When we got to the cabin, everyone was surrounding Bruno who was laying on the ground. "What happened?" I asked as we got out of the car in a rush.

       "He started to complain it was to hot so he came out to get some air. After about five minutes we heard him yell. We came out and he was laying on the ground with bruises all up and down his stomach" Anthony explained.

       I sighed, my heart racing. I looked up to see Gabriella comforting Mason on the porch swing. Soon, we heard sirens.  Nico went to his car to phone his boss and ask for some more officers to be sent up. I helped Mason and Anthony bring Bruno over to where the paramedics had parked. The police arrived about 5 minutes after the paramedics left. Nico explained to them what we were told before they went to go question Anthony, Gabriella and Mason for more details. "Joanne, come on!" he called to me. 

       I ran over to him as he started to talk to his boss. "I'll be back I promise," he said as he turned to me. 

       "Let's go ," he said to me.

       We got our parents and got into his car.  When we gt home he let us out. "I'll be back as soon as I can. I'll try not to be too late," he said before driving off.

       We went inside and each took a shower. I didn't go back downstairs after mine. Instead, I went into my room with Bruno on my mind. I worried non - stop about what Anthony had told me.  As much as I tried to, I couldn't seem to fall asleep. It was about midnight when I heard a knock on my door.  "Come in," I called.

        Nico walked into my room with two cups of tea. I smiled and sat up. I thought that maybe you would want something to help calm yourself down after today," he said, handing me a cup.

         I slowly took a sip and sighed. Tea always calmed me down after I have had a nigtmare or a stressful day. "How are you feelong?" he asked while siping his tea.

         "I'm feeling better, but I'm still scared," I admitted, "I'm scared that we might lose Bruno forever."             

         I took deep breaths as I started to tear up. He set down his cup and gave me a hug. "It's going to be OK," he assured me,  "They're going to help him get better"

         I took another sip of my tea before looking up at him. "Can you stay with me tonight?" I asked.

          "Of course," he said before climbing in next to me.

          I set my cup down on my stand and turned back to him. He turned off my light as I laid my head on his chest. He wrapped his arm around me and sung to me. He sung Born This Way by Lady Gaga softly while rubbing my back. "I'm beautiful in my way 'Cause God makes no mistakes I'm on the right track, baby I was born this way," he sung as I slowly drifted off to sleep.

          The next morning, I woke up with him still in my bed. He wasn't asleep, though, he was wide awake running my back. I looked up and gave him a kiss on the cheek. "Good morning" he said, kissing my forehead.

          "Good morning," I said, my voice hoarse.

          "You ready to get up yet?" he teased as I hid my face in his neck.

          "Nope" I said sleepily, closing my eyes.

          "Well, too bad," He said before pushing me off the bed.

          I landed on the ground with a thud.  "That hurt," I whined as he laughed at me.

           I sat up and stook my tongue out at him.  He gasped. "How rude!" he said as I walked away.

          "You should have thought of that before you pushed me off the bedm" I called over my shoulder as I walked out the room.

          I smirked as he went silent. I walked down the hall to the stairs before walking down them. When I got to the kitchen, my parents were enjoying their morning coffee.  Before I could speak, something unexpected happened.
