The next morning we all woke up and got dressed. We enjoyed a warm breakfast at the lodge before Nico and I started to head back down the mountain. "Bye you guys!" I called as we drove away.

       "Bye!" they all replied.

       I could see them waving at us until we were out of their sight. I turned around in my seat and sighed. I may have only been up there a short time, but I had an amazing time on the way up. I smiled as we past the pond where Myst met a mermaid. That's when I remembered something. I went on the group chat and started typing. Hey Myst, you remember when you were offered to become one of the mermaids?, I asked.

     I looked over at Nico. "You know I love you right?" I said innocently batting my eyes.

      "What do you want?" he asked coldly.

      My phone buzzed and I checked to see a message from Myst. Of course I do, why?, she replied.

       I looked back at Nico with a small smile on my face. "Is there anyway we can get some lawyers or someone out here to help preform a ceremony? Maybe for someone becoming a mermaid?" I asked.

       "It might be possible. Why? Is Myst's dream of becoming a mermaid coming true?" he asked.

       "Maybe. Maybe not," I replied.

       "I'll see what I can do," he said.

       I might of found a way to have you celebrated as a mermaid, I texted Myst.

       We reached the bottom of the hill a half an hour later. I saw my mom start to walk towards us as we parked. When I got out she squished me in a giant bear hug. "Hey Mom," I said, barely able to breath.

       "Thank god you're safe. I heard some young girl was raped up there yesterday afternoon," she said before letting go of me.

       "Actually mom, I was that girl," I said as she started to lead me to the car.

       She whipped around, her eyes wide open. "What?" she whispered, her voice cracking.

       "Yeah. That was me actually. He made me bleed," I told her.

       She gasped as she started to cry over what I had just told her.  She gave me a hug and cried silently while I gave her small kisses on the cheek. I hated to see her as upset as she was. "How about we go see a movie? All of us. You, dad, me, and Nico?" I asked looking at Nico.

        "Sure. My boss won't mind since he thinks I'm sick anyway," he answered.

       My mom gave him a weary look. He just shrugged before giving her a hug. "Come on!" I yelled, "If we want to have enough time to get snacks  before the movie we should get going."

       Nico laughed before picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder. "Put me down!" I screamed as he started running around the parking lot.

       "Never!" he boomed making me laugh.

       "Please," I begged.

       He put me down and gave me a kiss on the forehead. "I  love you," he said.

       "I love you too," I replied before dragging him to his car.

       "Somebody's ready to go see her movie," my dad teased from the passenger side of the car.

       I stuck my tongue out him before getting the passenger seat of my brother's car. We followed our parents to the theater. We bought candy, popcorn and a few sodas after buying our ticket. We saw The Greatest Showman. When the movie finished we drove back home. "Did you like the movie?" my mom asked as we all sat in the living room.

       I was drinking hot chocolate, Nico was drinking tea and our parents were drinking coffee. "I loved it! It was so colorful and the music was amazing," I gushed.

       Nico chuckled. When I finished my hot chocolate, I sat on Nico's lap and yawned. "You tired princess?" he asked.

       I nodded. He brought me upstairs to my room. Before he left he looked back at me. "I was able to call my boss. He said that we could get a small ceremony for Myst," he said smiling slightly.

       "Thank you Nico," I said, blowing him a kiss.

       I laughed as he pretended to catch the kiss and put it in his pocket. "No problem," he said before leaving my room.

      I pulled out my phone to text Myst. Hey, we were able to get you a little ceremony for you to become a mermaid. We just need to figure out the time and date, then we will be all set, I said.

      I felt my eyes getting heavier as I got even more tired. Then I heard my phone vibrate. I unlocked it and smiled at the message that Myst had sent. Yay! I can't wait!, she said.

       Even though I wouldn't admit it to anyone else, I was really excited too. I imagined Myst with a pretty purple tail with pink sparkles on it. Her blonde hair would be curled and she would have a pretty piece of jewelry on.  I smiled at the thoughts. I slowly started to fall asleep with Myst fresh in my mind.

       My eyes shot open when there was a sudden banging on my window.  I quickly hid underneath my blankets, too scared to face whatever was out there. After a while, the banging stopped and I looked out from under my blankets. There was a person standing on my windowsill, looking into my room. I shone the flashlight from my phone on them and gasped.

      I couldn't believe who it was.  I didn't want to believe it, but I knew I had too. On my windowsill was the last person I thought I would see that night. A person I never wanted to see again in my life. I took a deep breath before finally accepting the dark truth that was, in fact, reality.

      On my windowsill was Mason's uncle Ben.
