We woke up the next morning and packed up our stuff. We had no delays in starting our journey up the mountain. We all talked amongst ourselves when mason pointed out another lake to us. "There's the 'Love Lagoon'," he said, pointing to it.

     It was beautiful. It sparkled as the sun hit it, and you see right through the water.  "Ooh. It's so pretty!" Myst giggles, jumping up and down.

    I laughed as she ran over to it and looked at her reflection.  She poked the smooth surface, and smiled widely as she wacthed the ripples grow bigger. "Be careful," Mason warned, "you don't want one of them to see you"

    She looked at him confused, and terrified at the same time. "I don't want who to see me?" she asked, tilting her head.

    "The mermaids and mermen," Mason replied, "They live in the tavern right across the lake. They have been known to make humans fall in love, just to break their hearts"

    "Aren't there any good mermaids?" Myst asked, pouting.

    "Ye, of course," Mason told her, "The good ones inly come, if someone pure of heart is standing at edge of their lagoon"

    She gasped and smiled. "Really?" she asked.

    He nodded. She turned back towards the water and slowly inched towards the edge of the lagoon "Do you really believe that there are mermaids in the water?" Gabriella asked rudely.

    "Shut up Gabriella!" Anthony yelled, rolling his eyes.

    She huffed and sat on a nearby rock. We all watched as Myst sat down carefully.  She kicked her legs and played with her fingers as she waited for a mermaid to arrive. After a quiet five minutes, I saw something pink in the water. "What's that?" I asked, pointing to it.

    Myst gasped. "It's a mermaid!" she squealed excitedly.

    I took a couple steps towards the lagoon. Suddenly, a young girl popped out of the water. She had beautiful dark skin, and pink hair. She had a pink top on.  "Wow," Myst said, obviously amazed, "Your Pretty!"

    The girl smiled. "Thank you cutie," she replied, tickling Myst.

    Myst giggled and started bounce in her spot.  "Your welcome," she chirped happily.

    The girl looked Myst in the eyes. "What's your name beautiful?" she asked, biting her lip.

    "Myst," Myst replied, her cheeks heating up after being complimented.

    "Myst. That's a beautiful name," the girls said, making Myst blush even more, "My name is Rosette"

    "Ooh. I like that name," Myst cooed.

   Rosette smiled and gave Myst a hug. When she pulled away, Myst looked back at me with a big eyes. I already knew what she was going to ask before she asked it. I smiled at her and nodded approvingly. She looked back at Rosette and jumped into her arms. The mermaid swam around with my friend before setting her back onto the ground, dripping wet. "That was so cool!" Myst said excitedly.

    Rosette laughed as she tried to get her hair out of her face.  "Here, let me help you," she said, tucking Myst's hair behind her ear.

    "Thank you," Myst said, playing with her fingers.

    "I have a question for you," Rosetta said, "Would you like to join me and my friends in the lagoon?"

    Myst gasped. "Really?" she asked.

    Rosetta smiled and nodded. Myst looked back at us. "We'll think about it," I said, "How about we decide after the trip, so that way you can know if you really want to do it"

    Myst sighed, but nodded. She looked back at Rosetta with huge eyes. "That's fine. I have to go, but when you decide, you know where to find me," Rosetta said, winking at Myst.

    With that, she swam away. Myst got up and ran over to me. I gave her a hug. She looked up at me and smiled. With a small laugh, I picked her up. I heard her giggle slightly. I already knew what she was planning to do.
