*Author's note*
Well guys this is it. The LAST chapter for the Falcon and the Winter Soldier Disney+ series. I might do an alternate one to fit with some of my upcoming What If's....? So thanks for sticking around with me for the updates on this new mini-series story from my most popular trilogy book series. After this comes the WHAT IF scenarios. Idk when I'll be posting the first one up but just give me some time and I'll get around to it. Also I would like it if you all listened to the song I have listed down below cause it fits the scene, plus it's a DAMN GOOD song from a movie that I REALLY love. Enjoy the final chapter of Mother Wolf Raksha's mini adventure my pack :)
__________________________________________________________________
Several days later after the whole incident in Riga, I had been told that Sam and Bucky were now back in New York handling the Flagsmashers. Rauri had asked me if I was going to fight with them but I told him what I told them.
This was their fight and their fight alone, but if they needed me, they knew how to get a hold of me. But I had told some of my primate chimeras to keep an eye on social media and any surveillance cameras nearby so that I could see for myself how they were doing.
Right now I was deep within the den in my own personal mystical sanctuary. A place that I've made specifically for my mystic arts training and meditation. With some books my mother sent me on Basic as well as minor advance spells, even some text on Ancient Native American magic.
Those books alone contained spells on how to channel spiritual healing, empowerment, and even a deeper connection to use and feel the Earth around you. Every Native American tribe used the land to their advantage, and back then the shamans would write down and even teach those types of spells to those gifted and worthy to wield power like that.
I was going into my deep meditation state to hopefully engage in that spiritual training when I was disturbed by none other than my husband Rauri.
"(Y/n)! (Y/n)!" I felt myself being shaken by my shoulders and I was forced to come back to the physical world. I growled and said.
"Damnit Rauri how many times do I have to tell you! Don't disturb me when I'm going into the spirit world!"
"I know my love but it's important. Sam and Bucky they—they've defeated the Flagsmashers." Okay so I could make an exception for his disturbance. "Sam was just about to make a speech to the Senators of the world before I came down here to get you."
Without a second word, I raced off back towards HQ and went over to our newly fixed TV (thanks Dean) when I saw Sam in a new Captain America suit. It was mostly white but had some blue and red mixed in. I could already tell from the material on the screen that it had come from Wakanda. Sam was talking to the US Senator as well as two other female Senators from other countries.
'What do you think those people are gonna call you?' Sam asked them. I sat down on the couch getting invested into what Sam had to say. 'These labels, 'terrorists', 'refugee', 'thug'. They're often used to ger around the question, why?'
'Those settlements that happened five years ago, do you think it is fair for governments to have to support them?' the female Indian Senator questioned Sam. To which he answered with a firm yes.
'And the people who reappeared only to find someone else living in their family home, they just end up homeless?' the US Senator inquired.
And this is why I hate government and politics. I could ask them the same question when they freely just gave away this land away to the highest bitter instead of those that needed it most. It's not like you don't have the money to build more shelters or take in new resources in helping those get back on their feet. But no. Unless you're male and white you're good to go, but if you're not white—then too bad, so sad, boo-hoo you're on your own, there's nothing we can do to help you. That's the governments motto.
'Look, I get it.' The Senator continued to drone on. Do you? Do you really Mr. Big-shot? 'But you have no idea how complicated the situation is.' More than you're making it to be. He began to walk away until Sam spoke up.
'You know what? You're right.' The Senator stopped and turned to Sam. 'And that's a good thing. We finally have a common struggle now. Think about that. For once, all the people who've been begging, and I mean, literally begging for you to feel how hard any given day is...now you know. How did it feel to be helpless? Now if you can remember what it was like to be helpless and face a force so powerful it could erase half the planet,'
Rauri sat down beside me and placed his hand on top of mine which rested on my lap. I placed my other hand on top of his and petted it softly as Sam's voice continued.
'You would know what you're about to have the exact same impact. This isn't about easy decisions, Senator.' Exactly! Politicians always try to look for the easiest and cheapest way out in order to get things done. It's like they're putting a band-aid on a gunshot wound and just pray that it'll make it better and ignore it till it festers and spreads into an infection.
'You just don't understand!' the Senator snapped in Sam's face. Sam chuckled and responded.
'I'm a Black man carrying the Stars and Stripes. What don't I understand?' I bowed my head before looking back up at the screen. 'Every time I pick this thing up, I know there are millions of people who are gonna hate me for it. Even now, here....I feel it. The stares, the judgement. And there's nothing I can do to change it. Yet, I'm still here. No super serum, no blonde hair or blue eyes. The only power I have is that I believe we can do better.'
A small smile spread across my face as I faintly nodded.
'We can't demand that people step up if we don't meet them halfway. Look, you control the banks.' He said turning to the Indian female. 'Shit you can move borders! You can knock down a forest with an email, surrender a prized family reserve to the highest bitter, you can feed a million people with a phone call.' At that point tears started dripping down my face.
Rauri wrapped his arms around me, rubbing my right arm comfortingly as Sam continued to lay down the truth, the real truth to these damned government officials who never understood the people's needs. Not their own.
'But the question is, who's in the room when you make those decisions? Hmm? Is it the people you're gonna impact? Or is it just more people like you?' None of the politicians spoke a word. 'I mean, this girl died trying to stop you, and no one has stopped for one second to ask why.' Sam turned to the Senator and demanded as he pointed at him. 'You've got to do better Senator! You've gotta step up. Because if you don't, the next Karli will. And you don't wanna see 2.0. People believed in her cause so much that they helped her defy the strongest governments in the world. Why do you think that is?' the Senator shook his head in regret.
Yeah that's what I thought smooth talker. Sam's right. Everything he's saying is true. All of it. And for once it seems it's starting to get a hold of them.
'Look you people have just as much power as an insane god. Or a misguided teenager. The question you have to ask yourself is, 'How are you going to use it?'' and with that Sam walked away and the News went black after that.
I turned off the TV and turned to Rauri. Both of us silent until I reached up and embraced my beloved. I wrapped my arms around his neck and buried my face into his neck as the tears kept dripping down my face. He spoke not a word but just held onto me tighter, squeezing me so hard I felt like my bones would pop once again, but it was a comforting squeeze. And we remained like that for the rest of the night till we both fell asleep.
Just before dawn, I woke up and found myself cuddled close to Rauri still on the couch at HQ. I smiled and lay my head back down on his chest when my nose picked up a familiar scent.
My eyes opened as I sniffed the air once more, easily recognizing that scent anywhere. Slowly and carefully I got out of Rauri's arms and phased into my wolf form and followed the scent. The blue trail beckoning me further out of the woods and towards the borders of my homeland.
When I came towards the hill, I looked down and standing there waiting for me was Bucky. I race down the hill and towards the barrier before trotting up towards him.
"Can we talk?" he asked me. My eyes shifted to pure gold as I released the shield for a moment to allow him to enter inside. I walked up to him and told him.
'Get on. I know a place where we can talk privately.' He hopped up on my back and I ran back into the forest to take him to a more private area where we could talk.
The old Willow tree. My grandfather used to tell me that this Willow tree is said to be connected to the spirit world. That with each passing soul, another branch is added to the tree, and sometimes if you listen very closely, you can hear the whispers of your loved ones as the wind blows by. I was now in human form as Bucky and I sat underneath the old Willow tree and he told me.
"I—I finished my book."
"You found the one person we talked about at Sam's place?" I asked him. He nodded.
"Yori Nakajima. I killed his son when I was the Winter Soldier." I sighed deeply.
"I can't tell you how many times I've been in that position." I turned towards the Willow Tree. "You know I envy you Bucky."
"How could you envy me?"
"Because at least you remember the names of the people you've killed. Me......I was pure animal. I was just ordered to devour. Unlike you, I didn't have a human conscious. It was literally ripped from me."
"So was mine." He replied.
"True but they wiped your memories after every mission. When they found you in Germany, they knew you were human and wanted to make you the Fist of HYDRA. They wanted a human killing machine. As for the Bad Wolf project, me and Rauri were bred to only have nothing but raw, animalistic instincts. He was a failed experiment. Me—I was perfect. The perfect killing machine. One that could devour HYDRA's secrets bone and all. While their faces come to me in my nightmares, I never knew their names. They didn't care if I did or not. All they saw was the beast I was. Hell there are some things that I haven't even told Rauri that I've done, things that were never on Hydra's record."
Bucky remained silent as I spoke of my sins. And it's true. Like him, I do get the nightmares. I still do, even after all this time.
"And if I'm being honest; in another life......I would've been just like Connor, or Karli. After everything Hydra put me through, and the US government taking away my home and selling it like it was no big deal to the next fattest, richest bastard with the biggest check, I would've done everything Hydra gave me to destroy everyone who stood in my way till I reclaimed this place. This is the only home I ever knew, the last trace of my innocence."
"Then how did you not? If you say you could've easily ended up like them, how did you stop yourself? How did you feel like you could change after what Hydra did to you?" I looked up at him and I told him one word.
"Family." He softly shook his head and smiled. "As cliché and silly as it sounds, that's what got me on my feet. Wanda, Pietro, Steve, Sam, Nat, Stark, Clint, and you. It's like Sam told you. You gotta make others feel good in order to make amends to yourself. Now I can never amend to what I did as Bad Wolf to the victims I've devoured. I can't because I was an animal with no conscious but blood and meat. With the Avengers it—I was protecting them, being a service to them. And when I first met you, that's what gave me my try calling."
He turned to face me and I looked up at him. I scooted closer to him and placed my hand on his cheek.
"When we first met in Siberia, it was like—a connection was formed between the two of us. You gave me a purpose. A need to protect and aid. In some way that's what first broke my raw animalistic rage and made me save you from those wolves. Then in Bucharest, Berlin, Siberia and Wakanda.......I wanted nothing more than to protect someone who was just like me. We didn't have a choice in what Hydra did to us unlike the Avengers who chose their paths or were born into it. Hydra stole our lives away, tortured us, mutated us into something monstrous to fit their movement."
"At our weakest points too. Me when I fell off the train and you after witnessing your tribes death. A little girl afraid and alone."
"Well I wasn't completely alone, it was Little Grey who was captured along with me to help with the experimentation. I guess that's where my strong loyalty comes from. No matter what, he always wanted to be around me. Even when my parents and grandfather didn't wish for humanity and nature to interact with one another." I softly chuckled, "I always said he was more of a dog than an actual wolf. I miss him." I said the last part solemnly.
Bucky leaned forward and pressed his forehead against mine. The two of us closed our eyes and just felt each other's spirit combine with each other, drawing each other's strength in a comforting touch.
After awhile we just sat there in tranquil silence. Bucky seemed just as at peace as he did in our time in Wakanda.
"This place is quite peaceful. I'll bet the sunrises here are gorgeous."
"Not as much as Wakanda's sunsets but—yeah. This land, it has a magical connection. As a child this was like a paradise. None of the city stresses, you woke up to the birds chirping and fell asleep to the wolves singing. Exploring every inch of the reserve was like an adventure. And coming back to this place as a wolf, I can see why the wolves loved this place so much. It has so much ground to run, cool rivers to swim and fish in, it's like—like you can fly over the land as you run."

"Quite poetic there Wolfie." He teased me. I nudged him with my shoulder and said.
"Shut up. Besides, I remember every time I bet you and T'Challa in our morning races."
"Uhh as I recall I got the better of you when we ran through the open savannah."
"No I won that race fair and square. Ask Shuri she was recording the whole time."
"Alright, if you're so confident you wanna race now?"
"Here?"
"Yeah here and now. Settle this once and for all."
"You better check yourself there Barnes. Here I have the homefield advantage. You sure you don't wanna back out and save yourself the embarrassment?"
"Sorry I tuned out there for a second all I heard was save yourself the embarrassment." I scoffed and pushed him down to the ground and phased into my wolf form then took off running.
"No fair you got a head start!"
*3rd Person POV*
Bucky got up and raced after (Y/n). As he ran through the forest, he could hear the snaps and leaves crunching underneath (Y/n)'s paws. Soon he caught sight of her just a few feet in front of him. She looked back at him giving him a wolfish grin before slightly jumping up and continuing her run.
Bucky surveyed his area and found a short cut to get the upper hand of his sister wolf. He ran up a rising cliff formation, running along the fairly wide enough edge then once he reached the end, he took a huge leap and found himself falling towards her front.
He stuck the landing and ran close beside her. (Y/n) and Bucky looked at each other and she playfully gave him a nudge before the two of them were neck in neck till they finally reached a clearing in the woods.
They skid to a stop, (Y/n) panting with her tongue hanging out. Bucky regained his breath by putting his hands to his knees trying to steady his breath.
"See, I win."
'I may have let you win but I do know there's one thing I can beat you at.' (Y/n) spoke through her collar.
"And what's that?" panted Bucky. After getting their second wind in, (Y/n) ran on ahead with Bucky running close behind her. She led him through another part of the woods, this time it was a wide clearing with a large opening at the end. He ran and ran right on her tail before skidding to a stop to see just what she meant.
(Y/n) had leapt over a 13ft gorge onto the other side that was smaller than the side she jumped off of. Her tail wagged and she let out a few barks as her collar spoke up.
'Beat that White Wolf!' Bucky looked at the large gap and gulped nervously as his jaw clenched. He backed up as far as he could, taking some sharp, quick breaths before taking off in a sprint.
He took the leap of fate, his body flailing as he tried to get to the other side. From her end, (Y/n) followed Barnes' movements and slowly backed up, her ears bending back warningly before finally the impact happened and she let out a yelp.
Both her and Bucky began rolling down the hill towards the wildflowers growing on the other side. (Y/n) let out a wolfish sneeze as her head shook at the pollen that had touched her nose. She then bucked Bucky off of her back and she pounced on top of him, the two of them playfully wrestling with each other.
Soon Bucky once again had her pinned and this time she phased into her human form. The two of them breathlessly laughing after their wrestling match. Bucky stood up and held out his Vibranium hand out for her to take.
*My POV*
I extended my human hand out for his and he helped me stand back up. The two of us softly smiled at each other before I took off running once again. Bucky shook his head, grinning at my antics and ran after me. The two of us leaping off of trees and boulders till we both came up to a tall hill side that overlooked a peaceful lake.
I threw back my head and let out a powerful wolf's howl and soon joining with me with his best wolf's howl impression, Bucky also let out a howl by holding his hands over his mouth and howling.
The two Wolves of Wakanda reunited together.
We arrived back at the border of my homeland, Bucky telling me that he was going back down to Sam's place for a little cookout the neighborhood was doing in celebration of the boat getting all fixed up, as well as Sam's victory as Captain America.
"You should come with. After all you and your chimeras that helped out should be rewarded too."
"I'd like to but I think it'd be too much for us. After all we were just the extra muscle."
"C'mon (n/n) you gotta come. I'll bet the boys want to see you again. And who knows maybe you can bring Tony and Nat so they can interact with real humans. Who knows maybe even bring other chimera children as well. I'm sure Sam wouldn't mind."
"Are you saying that out of the goodness of your heart? Or to just piss Sam off?"
"C'mon Wolfie please!" he then gave me the puppy dog eyes. God why must he use my move against me!?! I groaned as I raised my chin up closing my eyes.
"This is my problem. I just can't say no to you when you use my move against me. But you have to call Sam in advance. I'll bring as many chimeras as I can without it getting too crowded." Bucky embraced me and he said.
"Thanks Wolfie. You won't regret it." He set me down and I opened the barrier for him to walk out of so that he could continue his drive down to Louisiana.
As the morning went on, I held a meeting with my tribe about a gathering we were invited to by our brother White Wolf. Tony and Nat were really excited and wanted to go, so much so that they were pleading both Rauri and I in wanting to go. Some of the other chimera children also wanted to go as well.
In the end around 30 of us decided to go while the rest would protect the fort. I lead them towards the meadow and opened a portal that would lead us further away from where the Wilson family boat was so that way we wouldn't spoke the neighborhood.
Dani, Hatti, Jerso, and I all brought along some food for the cookout and once again we were greeted with the gentle Southern Hospitality of the family friends and neighbors of Sam and Sarah Wilson.
I introduced Sarah to my husband and my children and she said that our kids were so adorable the way they looked like each of us, and of course she secretly expressed her encouragement of me getting an Irish man for a husband.
The kids were also enjoying themselves playing with the human children, my kids and Sarah's boys seemed to be getting along just grand, her youngest son and my daughter especially seemed pretty close with each other (much to Rauri's dismay).
Everyone was warm and welcoming to us and they thanked the ones who helped out with the boat and all considered us an honorary member of the Wilson family, especially me since Sam and I were close friends with one another.
After the party as everyone was clearing out, I asked Sam to come to my homeland for just a brief visit. I didn't tell him much other than the fact that it was of great importance.
Sarah said she could handle getting the boys to bed without him so Sam followed us through the portal that led to the great council rock. Surrounding the entire area were the rest of the chimeras all staring down at Sam Wilson with their animal eyes.
"Uhh She-wolf, they—this isn't some kind of trap is it?"
"Please Sam, if I wanted them to attack you, you'd already be dead." Everyone that came to the party also shifted into their animal forms and stood in their proper places with their proper Genius class. Rauri stood in his mighty wolf form while I remained in my human form and the two of us took our positions at the head stone table.
Rauri stood behind me while I took center stage and said in my Chieftess voice.
"Sam Wilson. You stand here before the council of the Aniwaya tribe to see if you are worthy of being our ally and brother. Before we give you our answer, tell us what you can provide for us in return?"
Sam looked at me almost asking me if this was a joke but one look in my eyes shut him down and he knew he couldn't say anything he'd regret. He took a deep sigh and exhaled.
"I can't provide much. I'm no super soldier, nor a rich billionaire tech genius, or a mutated, enhanced fighter. I stand before you, Chieftess (Y/n) Williams, the all mighty Mother Wolf Raksha as a man who can't provide much. Only my word that I can do the best that I can, and hope that the Aniwaya tribe will understand where I come from and my decisions in battle. There will be losses, but there will also be victories too. The price of war is heavy, and grief is—unimaginable. And to your tribe it's ten times worse. During the blip half your people grieved in ways we humans could never understand. Your husband alone proved that. But he also was able to get through it and rise above his grief to help bring the world back. And the world is screwed up right now, but it'll have to take more than just words and empty promises to help fix what was lost. We need to take action. And do the work. And that's what I can provide with our partnership. Is that I will get the job done in any way I can."
Much like his speech on the news the other night moved me, this speech also moved me. I could feel within the wind that Steve was with us and he was proud of what Sam was saying.
Spoken like Captain America.
"As Chieftess and High Alpha of the Chimeras, I hereby declare that this man will henceforth be known as, Captain America! All in agreement and will follow him into battle, lend me your voices!" I proclaimed.
Rauri let out a mighty wolf's howl. The Winchester brothers and their wives soon let out their roars, Mitchell and Maria let out a howl and powerful screech and soon all the chimeras joined in.
Sam stood there in awe as he heard nothing but animal cry after animal cry of an entire tribe willing to side with him. He looked up at me and I softly smirked down at him saluting to him.
"We'll follow you into hell if we must, Captain." Sam softly smiled at me and saluted me back.
"Thank you for your loyalty and trust. Chieftess Raksha."
