Across the Spider-Verse 0
Gwen and the rest of the Mary Janes were practicing for a concert; however, she wasn't coordinated since she didn't follow the orders of the group, getting reproached by the rest of the members. Mary Jane Watson tried to talk to comfort her, but Gwen, in a fit of rage, replied that she didn't want to be part of the group if it was to talk about her feelings.
An annoyed MJ and the rest of the band said if she wanted to quit, she should do it now. She accepted this and began to walk away from the group, leading Glory Grant to call her, not believing that she would seriously walk away. Although Gwen hears this, she continued to walk away silently and began to cry after remembering Peter Parker's death.
After these events, Gwen returned home, checking up on Y/N, who was napping, and her father asking her why she wasn't with the band, to which she replied that she quit.
Briefly chatting with her father, he revealed how he is close to catching her alter ego, causing her to say that catching Spider-Woman would not return Peter back. Her father soon left the house after hearing some disturbances in the Guggenheim Museum.
Gwen uses this opportunity to don her Spider-Woman costume and web shooters to swing through the city to the scene of the crime. Arriving as Spider-Woman, she realized that it all turned out to be a Vulture plot. However, to her surprise, she is attacked by a Vulture that she did not recognize. Initiating a brutal battle with the villain, she came to the conclusion that the villain is from another universe after seeing him glitch.
After an arduous battle against the villain, Gwen was being defeated until she received the help of another version of Spider-Woman as well as an alternate version of Spider-Man.
Following these events, Gwen fell to the floor prior to saving a police helicopter from crashing into the Museum. As she got to her feet, her Spider-Sense warned of her of an incoming threat and she turned to discover that it was no threat, only her father, George Stacy, in his police attire.
After explaining she was unarmed due to her inability to shoot webs as she had ran out of them, and trying to make some small light-hearted banter, Captain Stacy fired his pistol into the ceiling, silencing their conversation. It was only then that Gwen decided to take off her mask and reveal to the Captain that the infamous Spider-Woman that the police had been chasing for so long was actually his daughter.
Both at a loss for words and shocked at this discovery, Gwen tried to reason with her father that she was no murderer, and that she accidentally killed Peter, whom was the Lizard, because she did not know of the villain's true identity as her best friend. Begging the Captain for forgiveness and understanding, Gwen slowly approached her father only for him to try to arrest her once more. Heartbroken that her father, after all this time, was still afraid of his daughter because she was the vigilante Spider-Woman, she tried to reason with him one last time but to no avail. It was then that the outsider Spider people from before came in the nick of time, and detained Captain Stacy in a cage. One of these outsiders, to which she discovered his name was Miguel O'Hara, gave her what she thought was a 'cool watch' and invited her into the Spider-Society.
But before leaving, she needed to do one last thing.
Gwen moved quietly around the room, gathering their belongings as they prepared to leave. She was packing everything she and Y/N would need.
Gwen carefully considered their needs as she packed their belongings for their new life with the Spider Society.
For her:
Clothes: Gwen packed a mix of comfortable everyday outfits, including t-shirts, jeans, and jackets, as well as some more formal attire for special occasions or meetings.
Personal essentials: She gathered toiletries such as toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, conditioner, and other hygiene items.
Important documents: Gwen made sure to bring any necessary identification documents, such as her ID and driver's license.
Mementos: She included a few sentimental items, like photographs of loved ones, to bring a sense of familiarity and comfort.
Gadgets: Gwen packed her smartphone, charger, and any other electronic devices she might need.
Books: Knowing that downtime would be important, she packed a couple of her favorite books to enjoy during moments of relaxation.
Movies and music CD's: She also packed some music and CD's. Including movies like Home Alone, Superman The Movie, ET, Ratatouille, Aliens, The Adventures of Tintin, and Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home.
For Y/N:
Clothes: Gwen packed a variety of outfits suitable for different weather conditions, including onesies, tops, bottoms, socks, and sweaters. She made sure to include a mix of comfortable play clothes and sleepwear.
Blankets and comfort items: To provide a sense of security and familiarity, Gwen packed Y/N's favorite blanket or stuffed animal to help him feel at ease in their new surroundings.
Diapers and baby supplies: She gathered an ample supply of diapers, wipes, and other necessary baby care items to ensure Y/N's comfort and cleanliness.
Feeding essentials: Gwen packed bottles, formula or baby food, and any utensils needed for feeding Y/N, ensuring they had everything necessary for mealtime.
Baby gear: She packed a portable crib or playpen for Y/N to sleep and play in, as well as a stroller or carrier for outings.
Toys and entertainment: Gwen selected a few of Y/N's favorite toys and books to keep him entertained and engaged during their travels and in their new home.
As Gwen carefully packed their essentials into bags, she glanced over at Y/N's crib. He lay there, peacefully asleep, unaware of the changes that awaited him. With a gentle touch, she reached down and lifted him into her arms, cradling his sleepy form against her chest.
Y/N stirred, his eyes fluttering open, still heavy with the remnants of slumber. His gaze met Gwen's, and a sleepy smile curved across his lips as he recognized the familiar face that greeted him each morning.
"Good morning, my little hero," Gwen whispered, her voice filled with a mix of tenderness and excitement. She pressed a soft kiss on his forehead, savoring the sweet connection they shared.
As Y/N fully awakened, he looked around, taking in the sight of their packed belongings and the atmosphere of change that filled the room. Gwen sensed his curiosity and reassured him with a gentle sway, rocking him back and forth.
"We're going on an adventure, little guy," Gwen murmured, her words intended to convey the excitement and anticipation of the journey ahead. "We're joining the Spider Society, a group of extraordinary people just like us."
Y/N's eyes widened with a mixture of wonder and innocence, his small fingers reaching out to touch Gwen's face. It was as if he sensed the significance of this moment, the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
Gwen continued to speak softly, explaining their decision to join the Spider Society and the opportunities it would bring. She described the friendships they would make, the skills they would learn, and the shared purpose that awaited them.
Wrapped in Gwen's loving embrace, Y/N listened intently, absorbing her words like a sponge. He may have been too young to fully understand the details, but he could feel the love and excitement radiating from his mother, and that was enough to spark his own sense of curiosity and anticipation.
With their bags packed and Y/N cradled in her arms, Gwen took a final look around the room, a mix of nostalgia and excitement filling her heart. She knew that the path ahead would be filled with challenges and growth, but she was ready to face it all alongside her precious child.
