Prologue ~ Hell's newest arrival

New York city, December 18th, 1988.

Viola sprinted through streets, moistened from the recent storm.
She shoved her way past a crowed of strangers, clutching a briefcase close to her chest.
She could hear the blood pumping in her ears as she ran, her heart beating far more than usual.

As she turned a corner, the loud banging of a gunshot rang in her ears.
She quickly ducked herself into a shop, wincing as she looked down at her arm.
"Fuck." She muttered under her breath. After a moment of calming her heartbeat, she purchased some cloths, as they didn't sell medical supplies.

As she exited the small shop, she clutched the cloths against the wound to control the bleeding.
Retreating into a small park, surrounded by nature, Viola finally managed to take a break, placing the briefcase down next to her.

A normal person would have called for help with this injury. Unlike a 'normal person', she'd delt with wounds like this many times in the past, she had everything planned in her head.
Bring the briefcase to the guy, get paid, go home, then apply first aid.
It was a simple enough plan, she knew a lot of shortcuts between places, so it should have been perfectly fine.

As she stood back up, still with the cloth clutched to her arm, a small dachshund scurried over to her, a young boy holding the leash.
"Sorry 'bout that ma'am!" He apologized with a thick British accent, pulling the dog's lead.

Viola nodded in understanding; it's not a big deal she thought. What she hadn't expected, however, was for the dog to bite her foot, causing her to stumble, landing headfirst on an anthill.

She sat back up, ant's stinging her scalp and neck, cursing in pain under her breath. She wanted to grab that dog and yeet it into next year, but she couldn't, not with one bad arm at least.

The kid started firing apologies, yanking the dog away as Viola sat back up. "It's fine." She claimed, waving her hand dismissively. The ant stings starting to cause more pain than usual. She looked down at the and hill and stared in shock... There was a wasp.

It must have been on the ground when she fell. Thats when the panic set in, she gently felt the back of her neck and winced once more. It's swelling. The little voice in her head said. Her neck was swelling. Her face started becoming a tad puffy. It was only a few minutes later she'd fall into the darkness, the child panicking by her side. Should have bought an EpiPen.

She opened her eyes, only to find herself falling, falling from a dark, crimson sky.
Plummeting to the floor. She curled up mid air, expecting to turn into an unrecognisable splatter on the ground. Although she soon found herself safe on the ground.

Upon landing, she quickly scurried into an alley, one second, she was having a deadly allergic reaction, next she was falling from a red sky, kinda overwhelming.

She scanned the area, before having a realization, well, two realizations.1. There were no humans, the people of the area were all... different. Resembling people, and overall, seeming human, although many also had the aspects of animals or objects. 2. Her injury was healed, the cloth gone from her arm and the wound vanished without a trace, not even a scar taking its place.

She walked out of the alley, finally taking note of the smell, the smell of decaying flesh, melting with the scent of alcohol was filling her pallet, which was not a pleasant feeling to say the least. She walked around cautiously, before walking Infront of a small building and looking into the window, not even taking note of what was inside, as she was far more interested in her reflection.

Her features were familiar, but still a stark contrast from previously. Her nose? Gone. Hey eyes had orange sclera and her iris's were white.
Her hair was no longer a dark brown, and lacked the streaks of blonde, but instead, it was a rich, darkened ginger, placed in a neat ponytail.
Her height? Well lets just say it was a massive upgrade from her former 4'9, now reaching around 8'5, almost double her previous height.

But to top it all off, she had a pair of thin, translucent wings and a pair of antennae, resembling that of a wasp, oh the irony

As she took one more look around, it finally clicked in her head. One second, deadly allergy. Next second, red sky, the feeling of impending doom, the screams of pain and the blood filling the streets... Oh my god... I'm in hell.

She looked around once more, everyone else here, they must have been people at some point, just like her. It wasn't too much of a shock she'd arrived in hell. After the things she did in life? It would have been a shock if she hadn't arrived in hell.

So many enemies she had made in life would recognise her if they saw her and knew her name.
So she had to change it. She had to be someone new. She couldn't let her past shape how she'd be seen in hell.
That's how she'd come to the decision to change her name, Viola was gone. Forever to be known as Vesp.

The name Vesp is based off the word "Vespa", which is the Latin word for wasp ^^

Oh boy, that was fun to write ^^'
