GHOSTS ARE REAL. But not the way you'd expect them to be. Ghosts aren't the spirits that "experienced" hunters travel to supposedly haunted places to find evidence of, nor are they completely invisible or only detectable through heat signatures. They don't even have to be dead to exist.

Vera Pérez should know, because she is one. Well, more specifically, she's a phantom.

At the tail end of her sophomore year, Vera had been attacked and left for dead by a kanima that just so happened to be a boy in her class. That gave her family friend and honorary brother — Derek Hale — no choice but to turn her so she wouldn't succumb to her injuries. Only she hadn't gained his fangs or the hair that sprouts from his cheekbones. Rather, she'd woken up the next morning to hurl up rejection fluid and had experienced her first instance of turning transparent later that week.

Now a Hale Pack member and still not-so-blissfully unaware of the full extent of her abilities, Vera is not prepared for as big of a threat as a pack of Alphas. Especially with being forced to hang around the insufferable Isaac Lahey much more often than she'd like.

Only she soon finds that she misses him when he's gone, and sometimes, she just can't seem to stay away.

hello everyone, it is i, your local heap of garbage on the pavement, posting another enemies-to-lovers fanfic, but who's really surprised at this point?

that being said, this story is going to sit here and collect dust until i am prepared to start writing. college means you have 7 deadlines approaching, an exam every week, your blood has turned into caffeine but somehow you're still always tired, and you're buried under a pile of emails. please be patient with me!
